What a lovely new portrait of King Frederik and Queen Mary. Was interesting to hear that the crown jewels are not something that can be seen in a museum somewhere in most countries.
King Fredrik X and Queen Mary's portrait look amazing! The King's naval uniform looks incredible, and I love the archer bottons. The Queen had on a dark green velvet and lace dress. It's so elegant The emerald crown jewels are beautiful. I didn't know that Queen Mary would look regal in green. But now I know. I'm so happy to see a new royal portrait.
Queen Mary is ALWAYS stunning. Yeah, Frederick is handsome, one of the best looking kings today, but she's stunning.

I loved seeing the new Official Gala Portrait of King Frederik X of Denmark and Queen Mary. King Frederik X continues to express, although in a very subtle way according to the official moment, the wonderful smile that is characteristic of him. And, Queen Mary also looks very good, very elegant, very well dressed for the occasion, and also presenting a facial expression that is characteristic of her.

It was very nice to see HRH Queen Mary of Denmark wearing some of the Danish Crown Jewels, she is absolutely stunning and could wear a potato sack and put us all to shame…. However the Emeralds didn’t do her justice as beautiful as they are…. The pearls and diamonds would have suited her more…. As an Australian I’m just so proud of her and what she has accomplished….❤❤❤

Please note... The Imperial State Crown is one of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom and symbolises the sovereignty of the British Monarch. Its part of the Crown Jewels...but is often worn annually... By The Sovereign.... at the State Opening of Parliament.
Not just the Danish Crown Jewels that are displayed and worn and don’t leave Denmark. The British Crown Jewels are displayed very beautifully in the Tower of London. The imperial state crown is worn at the state opening of parliament and along with St. Edward’s crown, orbs and sceptres all used at coronations. These items are owned by the state and also don’t leave the UK.

Hello Alexandra I should say the Royal Portrait of the King and Queen of Denmark is lovely. Queen Mary looks spectacular with her gorgeous crown jewels. I thought the Crown Jewels of England on display could also be worn on special occasions but it seems what I heard that only Denmark (?) Queen Maxima lovely red dress her enthusiasm always show, happy Queen. Princess Victoria such a trooper! Thanks for the updates all these Royals always busy: Queen Mathilde "Monday thru Friday" busy busy lady.
Alas although we can see the crowns we never get to see the tiaras and associated jewels. Two of Queen Victoria’s tiaras passed out of the family and can be seen in museums but are never lent out to be worn. They are very beautiful to look at but it is sad they are now locked away.
During the Coronation of King Charles last year, the space where the Crown Jewels are usually displayed to the public in the Tower of London, apparently had a sign saying they were in use!

The Danish Crown Jewels are just stunning! Tha is an awesome tiara! Unfortunately, going forward, the Great Debate in Belgium needs to add AI Interference in Elections. I saw a great documentary about what is being done for this year’s elections by our adversaries using AI! Very scary!

Curious what criteria must be met in order to receive a similar miniature of the king, albeit one with much smaller diamonds, although it would be lovely if their gift were limited to family members.
I believe they are given to female royal family members who do not already have one, as a reward for hard work on behalf of the monarchy. The UK has a similar "royal family order", but there people may have more than one if they have served under more than one monarch. In Denmark, they only wear one, and don't update it to the latest monarch, except in the case of a Queen Consort. That is Mary's status, so she changed from the one she previously wore of Queen Margrethe to one of her husband (in a historic frame passed on to her from Queen Margrethe). My understanding is that Princess Benedikte and Queen Margrethe will continue to wear their father's royal family order, and I believe Princess Marie wears Queen Margrethe's. I'm guessing that King Frederick and Queen Mary's daughters will be the next to receive his.

I like Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh. He seems to find humor in a situation--cracking a joke with a rapid fire delivery. I believe if he was not royal, I can see him starring in comedy show like the Monty Python Flying Circus.
Yes, a wonderful sense of humour and also I loved the history programs he fronted and produced.
I thought that Edward wanted to be in theatre, and film.
For those who are not aware of what ANZAC Day is, it stands for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The 25th of April, 1915 during WWI, was when troops from our nations landed on the shores of Gallipoli in Turkey. We had been previously fighting under the banner of the British due to being Commonwealth Nations, yet this was to change when we became recognised as a fighting force (Army, Air Force & Navy) in our own right. ANZAC Day is a very special day of remembrance, equal to that of Remembrance Day on the 11th November. Dawn Services are held across both countries, as well as marches by Armed Forces Members, past Veterans and those representing family etc. either alive or had made the ultimate sacrifice. It applies not only to the orginal ANZACS but all who have served or still serving. Lest We Forget
I'm sure that Queen Mary never imagined in her wildest dreams that she would one day grow up and leave Australia to become the Queen of Denmark and be covered in such exquisite jewels! Those emeralds were simply breath taking. Despite having to renounce her Australian Citizenship, she will always be known as 'our Mary'. I'm so proud of her achievements, especially learning a language such as Danish. She has done us so proud and glad that she has been accepted by the people of Denmark. If Queen Mary has to wear a brooch with a painting of King Frederik, I think it only fair that he wear one acknowledging his wife. The size of those diamonds surrounding the portrait are amazing. Such a beautiful photograph of the two of them. To think they married in 2004! Where has the time gone?

Well, it's a thought! My feeling is that, if the women of the family wear miniatures of a monarch, why don't the men? It seems odd these days.

Mary looked beautiful and Frederick handsome. I am hoping she has the 3 piece Aigrette but back on the tiara frame and takes that one to one of the upcoming state dinners. She will most likely also bring the pearl poire and or her Ruby tiara. Also like the new royal family order of K.Frederick, now WHERE is K.Charles royal family order???? I know, I know he has had " other" things going on. Good to see K.Harald back at work albeit a bit frailer. Queen Mary had the Ruby and Diamond Tiara changed to fit her better. I'm sure that adjustments such as these will be fine and doubt that Mary would want to change the history of other pieces. I'm sure that she is simply overwhelmed just to be able to wear such stunning jewels.💖
@krisushi1 The ruby parure is owned personally by the King and isn't part of the crown jewels, so it follows different rules. I don't know that she couldn't modify the crown jewels to fit her better, though, or to make them more versatile. She might need permission from a different source.
