Excellent info here. I am a diabetic that has dealt with my share of foot ulcers over the past 5 to 10 years now. It’s critical to keep your sugar levels in check & seek medical attention asap at first signs of an ulcer on your foot. Don’t wait around and “hope” things will get better on their own, that’s a recipe for more problems or even potential amputation. I know because I waited to long and had half of my toe amputated. I would like to point something out to the doc & anybody else that’s willing to try another form of treatment here. It just so happened to work for me recently in conjunction with me going to my wound specialist for care. Get yourself a infrared mat big enough to put your feet on it or wrap your foot in it and use it to promote blood flow down into your foot . I used it twice a day for 30 min to an hour each time. I had an infectious disease doc tell me I was going to lose my big toe because of an infection I had but between a pikk line, off loading, and using a infrared mat my toe slowly healed and I still have it today. The doc couldn’t believe the end results. When I first saw her in the office she thought basically had no chance of saving it, but agreed to let me give it a go. It worked and have used many of times now. Do your research on a good mat to purchase. All mats are not created equal. Best wishes
