You can take a class in Serbo-Croatian language and learn "Bosnian" which, from a linguistic POV (as opposed to a political one) is just a subset of middle dialects in the full dialect range in the Serbo-Croat language. As for visiting, any travel agency can help. However, you could see if Bosnia has developed any programs for foreigners who wish to come tp Bosnia to learn the language. Keep in mind, it remains a poorer country with less robust of an educational infrastructure. There could also be special government visas or programs for children of Bosnian heritage who wish to "return" to Bosnia. Again, keep in mind that Bosnia still struggles in some ways to govern itself when making any decision to participate in such a program.

It is not completely true that each letter represents the sound. Such is the case with Dž, Lj, Nj. It would be correct if it was written in Cyrillic.
Those are compound letters/sounds NJ for example is treated as one sound and are therefore having a space in the alphabet as a separate sounds.
