  • Avoid nipple confusion by using alternatives to bottle feeding with your newborn. Here is a demonstration of cup feeding, syringe feeding, spoon feeding, and how to use a supplemental nursing system (SNS).
This video is a SNEAK PEAK from the New Little Life Online Breastfeeding Course that is now available.

My sns system has two tubes coming out of it. How do I use that? Won’t it leak out of one? 🤔 I’m so confused!

I love the spoon travel feeder! It looks so easy to use. Would you recommend using it to feed soft foods to older babies?

Definitely! It’s a little annoying to clean, but totally worth it for day trips out. So much healthier (and cheaper) than the individual squeeze packets too!

I understand the usage of SNS feeding, I just don't see why cup or spoon feeding is taught. Babies are born with a sucking reflex for nipples be it mama or a bottle. To me, a baby is not receiving the full benefit of his meal if he is drinking from a cup. They are born to suck with a sucking reflex. When would it be beneficial to cup or spoon feed?

Hi , could please tell me when is the right time to start bottle feeding / pumping and what kinda of bottle should in invest in silicon (comotomo) or glass (philips avent)?? If there is any other brand you recommend would appreciate a suggestion.
    Thank you

It’s usually best to wait until breastfeeding is well established before you start introducing a pump or bottle. Typically about 4-6 weeks. You never have to pump really, unless you want/need to.
Silicone bottles are the most popular and they are all very similar.

Im struggling with my relactation journey now with my 3 month old baby .. And i'd like to eliminate all the bottles since most people say so .. But, it was hard .. The baby keep crying all the time, i tried to feed him with cup feeder, spoon, syringe and so on but it doesnt work .. Do you think if I do this, finger feed my baby he will be easier to latch on later on ?? Cos i really want to breastfeed my baby .. Thankyou for the answer

For your baby who is already used to bottles, just keep doing that! No need to add the extra stress to your life if that works for your baby. Bottle fed babies can still latch on the breast so you can transition back when you’re ready! Good luck 💕

I was told to pump after every feeding but how do I know when I can stop that? As in how many days or weeks do I need to pump after every feeding?

If you’ve been given some specific instruction from a lactation consultant you should follow up with them! I don’t know your history or what’s going on, so some personalised care would be better for you. This video is just kinda general information, not a one size fits all :)
