Pls - exercises to relax foot ankle attachment tendons in the “L” - between ankles /top of foot. Got thru plantar fasciitis & wking to strengthen weaker body muscles 71 yrs young - restarting yoga after many years. Love your generosity of knowledge. Thank you!💕😺🙏👍😊
Thanks for the information. It’s all really good and helpful. I’ve had long-term PF problems but thankfully they are under control now. Long story short, foot strengthening was the most helpful for me. Minimalist type shoes also with little to no arch support. Such a pesky problem!
Yep - that makes perfect sense. Sometimes people have to get into that gradually because you can overdo it, but having foot muscles to do what foot muscles are supposed to do means the plantar fascia can recover and do it's own job!
Hi there I have been suffering with this for 6 months Now I'm certain it's because I walked 17 miles one day wearing dr marten sandles Now they I know I'm meant ti be rolling the foot and of course dr martens soles are hard and am an unable to bend feet properly wearing them Secondly this last week I've developed also Achilles tendinitis And wondered if both these conditions are connected ?
Foot issues tend to be the symptom of limited foot function and walking technique caused by our adaptations to modern footware and chairs. So yes, I think you could say they're related. I have a new video on common causes of PF on my RUclips that could help you trouble shoot. And my Free Your Feet program was created as a starting point to restore healthy foot function - it's free in my bio links. But I'd suggest seeing a clinician for the tendon stuff - DM me if you want a referal - it's best to get PT to fully rehab tendons!
@PetraFisherMovement Thank you for replying to me I really appreciate that. I will look out for the new video. I saw a physiotherapist yesterday about all of the issues in my feet x
I am so glad I found you and your program. I suffered for over 2 years, I did everything my podiatrist said. Nothing helped - cortisone shot, orthotics, and physical therapy. I was told to NEVER go barefoot, don’t wear flexible soled shoes. Basically the opposite of what you recommend doing! So I started doing your foot program last October and almost immediately noticed improvement. My feet are a lot stronger and while I have not yet transitioned into barefoot style shoes, I plan to soon! Thank you for your concise explanation of this condition and its causes.
I'm so glad you're getting some improvements! I know how frustrating and challenging PF is and I really feel like there's a need to understand it better so you don't have to feel so much of the annoying confusion!!
I teach lots of walking technique but it's not a simple movement pattern so I usually do it in workshops and I teach it a lot in my Take 10 program. My Free Your Feet program is focused on foot health and is a good starting point to work on your walking so that is a great place to start!
? What brand is a good transitional shoe?
Thank you

Have you done the top of the foot stretches in my Free Your Feet program? That would be a great place to start!

I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊.
Can you make a video on
Proper walking?

How do you feel about the shoes Hey Dude
If they're not totally flat, flexible, fully attached to your foot and with a wide toe box, it's likely that they're not very helpful for your feet!
