This is the first song I ever heard as a child and I fell so in love with it, I played it over and over, a throughout my childhood and teenage years...i have never stopped listening to it for 53 years.. My mom was a classical ballet dancer at the Hamburg State Opera, and this song brings up tears, every time I hear it. It reminds me of my father, a great German professor, who had a mandolin, and a cello. He played them both exquisitely. Every time I hear this I break down into a sobbing mess, because it symbolizes life, being born and dying, and how quickly the time in-between passes. Now we have a pandemic, and I probably will not see him again, because he is old and living in a closed facility. I miss him so much, and this beautiful song captures my entire life, raw and emotional, with so many regrets, and lost hopes and dreams, that I can barely stand it. I definitely want this as a funeral song... Peace on Earth, this song is a little piece of heaven.
@@stavroschaniotis9214 precisely right! I will always love this piece and him, and when I hear a mandolin I smile. Thank you for understanding. Have a wonderful day, Stavros!
The melody is an exquisite balance of contrast, tempo, dynamism in its emotion, vibrant rhythmic and grace. Lovely and great to listen to Vivaldi's Concerto for Mandolin, indeed

Antonio Vivaldi was the world's first Rock Star. The Four Seasons the world's first concept album (collection) over and above which he was the most sublimely talented and gifted instrumental virtuoso. Especially so on violin. If you don't believe me ask Rick Wakeman
I love this, but cannot play it right now. I listen to the whole thing in its entirety and never get tired of it. This is Vivialdi's Concerto for the Mandolin in C Major, all 3 movements. I also like others. Those are long-range goals.
honestly, there's something about Vivaldi that is so beautiful that everyone wants to listen to his music. The pieces communicate feelings in an exquisite way and it makes me feel like I'm in heaven. Kudos to the person playing the mandolin in an amazing way! 💜👍
When I feel that despair one tends to feel these days about my individual and our collective performance as a 'human race', I seek out Vivaldi's perfect musical representatation of human sensitivity and weakness - of the human condition - and then I suddenly discover that, with careful listening and on balance, we might still be worth the effort, just about, and that we're still in the game. Just.
I don't see anything wrong with the picture. It looks like a beautiful painting to me. Frankly, I'm here to listen to the music, not to critique the photos. .
The interpretation of the final movement is terrific; the emphasis on the first beats and then the secondary echo is not in any other version I've heard. It gives it a playful lilt at times, and makes it more dramatic at others. Fucking awesome.
You know what they said about Vivaldi: "he didn't actually write 400 concertos; he just wrote the same concerto 400 times" (there were haters in the Baroque era too!).

Beautiful performance, such delicate and varied sound qualities. The recording was done very sensitively too. It's a relief to hear baroque music that doesn't sound like it was recorded in an echo chamber. Great choice of painting! Venice, Vivaldi's home, in all it's glory. Thank you for posting this.
i am not very keen on mandolin, but I must admit the end of the piece, fast as it is makes it sound more interesting and convincing! Perhaps I should listen to more mandolin music and thus, educate myself!
Ciao, questa musica è favolosa!!! The picture (Venezia dal portico della Madonna della salute) is of William Turner, english painter born in London in 1773.

Sólo el Maestro Vivaldi puede hacer sublime el fantástico sonido de la Mandolina.
Totalmente de acuerdo, yo no sabia que la mandolina se pudiera usar así :D
