    I placed a big order with KL earlier today and was contemplating adding the Fill-O-Meter but didn’t since it apparently can’t tolerate higher temps than 40C.. It would be super-handy for mashing in and sparging if it did though.

    As I need to run my water through a “filter” taking out all the minerals (water here is really not good), which only has a low throughput, that might be helpful.

    I would imagine that flushing the line will also prime the line so that there is no deadspace loss through the entire run of the outlet pipe, assuming you have a long feed. Most setups will probably have the meter close to vessel being filled anyway, so no real concerns there.
    The problem with some of Keglands “Toys” are that unless they are essential or must sought after item, they rarely see the light of day outside of Australia, even though here in the UK we have about 5 authorised stockists

    Looks like a rebadged ZJ-LCD-M flow meter plus a solenoid in a box. Menu buttons and screen are exactly the same as the ZJ meter. I have a DIY version on my brewery but as I bought the flow meter and solenoid separately, I bought a solenoid that can handle 80c so use mine between HLT and mashtun.

    A bit late to the show, but I've been doing a ton of brewing lately and will probably pick one of these up. Great overview. Cheers!

      They work, of course not down to the accurate ml but still do the job. Cheers!

    Around 15 years ago I had an idea for a product like this, intended for chemistry labs, but never had time to make. I planed to make it for the brewery but now I don't have to.

    Nice, i just bought one a few days to make brew day a bit easier, save lugging buckets of water from my filtered Puratap to the shed, although i do plan on putting a fridge inline filter on it.

    Hoverdog is right is is 100% a repackaged ZJ-LCD-M flow meter i have 2 in my nano brewery. This is a nice touch tough as its all in one box, i had to build mine into a box with PSU etc. My solenoid and flow meter is remote with the display is on the wall. The solenoid in it likely cant cope with heat, i upgraded my remote one to a food grade triclamp solenoid and a stainless sensor and its good at 80+C, I've a more basic flow meter version without the solenoid i'm going to use for Mash to Kettle and Kettle to fermentor, fingers crossed my stainless hall effect sensor is ok with the heat, think its rated to 120C. These things make setting up for mash in, sparge etc so much easier on brewday.

      Yeah, it worked better than I thought and youknow its not something that everyone will want or need, but if it saves one flooding of a brewery its a good thing I reckon hahaha Cheers Jake!

      The Home Brew Network Definitely mate. Flooded brewery is no good. Adds to the automation of the whole process as well.(the boring bits anyways) Be a way off for my brewery but would consider down the track.

    In the first go for 50 litres, was the hose empty? I guess the lost 1 liter of water filled up your hose.

      @HomeBrewNetwork  4 года назад

      Yes for sure that will make a difference but also my kettle scale is out by a litre, theres a combination of things there, but I used it again yesterday for a 35L fill and it went fine on that. Cheers!

    SOoooo it doesn't measure water volume? Just meters it.
