I bought it because you said it makes beer taste better! Thanks for the review!
Ha ha! Thanks for watching! I hope that it makes all of your beers taste better when drank around it!
Can the rocks be washed to get rid of the black shoot?
Thanks for watching SC. I'm not sure if they can be washed. I think that the fire itself makes them so hot that it would probably burn anything off that gets on them.
Thanks for a really nice review. I'm considering buying the outland Living new Firecube over the camp chef sequoia that comes with a bag no lid. Which would you think is better for packing and traveling on a small sedan? Can you pack thing onto of the metal lid safely? Thanks🔥👍
Thanks for watching and the kind words Gearhead. I'm not familiar with those other models that you mentioned, but as for the durability of the metal lid for the one that I used in this video, I'm sure that you could pack stuff on top of it...within reason. While I wouldn't recommend standing on it, I don't think that a suitcase or stuff like that would damage it. I would say the most vulnerable part would be the knob so I would situate it into a corner or someplace that it would be protected the gear that you packed would happen to shift. I've been using mine for two years and it's still holding up nicely. If you have any milk crates laying around, they work really good to secure a 20 lb propane bottle so they don't roll around. The bottle just fits inside the milk crate. I hope this helps.
Would you say it does a good job keeping you warm?
A real wood fire is definitely a lot warmer, but the Outland fire bowl does a decent job of keeping me warm in late summer and early fall. When the Temps get down in the twenties, you really need to get close to it. I like it "Mostly" for the ambience, and to have a place to congregate...all of which can be done with a real fire, but the Outland fire pit is quick, clean, smoke free, and can be used during burn bans, which makes it pretty awesome! Thank you for watching!
Nice video. I ordered the Outland Cypress model this morning.
Thanks for watching Richard! I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I did mine.
Really nice review.. just bought the mega one as we have a 4x4 club trip coming up with total fire bans.. and wanted still the ambiance.. and as you say, it makes the beer taste better.. but greatly appreciate your efforts mate! Kudos from Australia..
Thanks so much Jorgen! I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Have fun on your trip and safe travels!
Thanks for producing this! Great review! ...and thanks for laughs!
😆
You are most welcome Jason! So glad that you enjoyed! I still love mine to this day!
Great video and commentary! How long would you say this lasts on high and using what I assume is a 20 lb tank (gas grill size)? I think I've seen reviews saying around 6 hours, but thought I'd get your input as well. Looks like a great pit!
Edited: Decided to go ahead and get one. Used your Amazon link. I should have better tasting beer by this weekend!
Thanks for watching and the kind words Nate. I'm guessing that 6 hours is a pretty close estimate on high. It's been two years or so since I made that video and I still love mine. I hope that you will enjoy yours as well.
Bought this in part to your review. I can testify not only does it make beer taste more refreshing it makes your bourbon more delightful.
Thanks Old Toad! When I bought one of those, I never imagined how neat it would be to be able to have a campfire on a porch or patio... Within reason of course, but beer and bourbon are definitely better by a fire, be it propane or wood! Thanks for watching!
Nice review of your outland fire pit. We really like ours!
Thanks AFK Days! Glad to hear! I love mine.
can we use it as a bbq also
I have made mountain pies on mine, but I am not sure about actually doing BBQ on it with the Grease. I definitely wouldn't attempt it on a wooden floor, or on anything that you don't want to get ruined. Thanks for watching!
Ordered this, supposed to get next week. I seen reviews of people saying they get about 8 hours on max flame out of a 20lbs tank, you mentioned in your video that u use about a 20 per night. How long would u say u get out of it per night from a full 20lbs tank? Great video and review and I can’t wait for my beer to taste better LOL, it already does with a real wood fire so I’m sure this is no exception haha.
Thanks for watching Richard! I guess that it depends on a few things as to how long it lasts. I hadn't really timed it, but I would say that 8 hours would be a pretty good estimate, but that might be pushing it on max. It would be close. Nonetheless, it certainly makes beer taste better. I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. They're awesome to use on patios and decks too, but obviously use caution.
I bought this for my house and will buy the natural gas conversion so I do not have to worry about running out of gas.
Good review!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I really like mine.
Great video!
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
