At a time when everything costs more, nice to see people able to save some money for a change. "Please, taller doors" I like this guys style! I don't know his name but he does good reviews. (everyone does good reviews) Oh, and thanks for including KPH and MPH.
Nice review, you do a great job, thanks! Just oredered my X2 1000 SE, should be here late March, early April. I've been driving a Rhino, that's still going strong, since 2012 so this is a huge upgrade for me!!
Good review! This is the Yamaha I've been waiting for. The suspension on the X2 850 is what stopped me from buying one back in 2018. I gave up the dump bed and went with the RZR 900S instead back then.
Great review, alot of real world facts have been said in this video !! Dirt trax/snow trax you guy's are my go to source when I'm looking to upgrade my rides !!!
#ForThePeasants I like the lower door sills but I'm a smaller guy and the shoulder bolsters NEVER bothered me. There's aftermarket door sills for those that want a higher door. I prefer the increased visibility.
I have a x2 850 and am fine with the power but wish it was softer in the suspension category. Wonder if there is enough difference in the x2 1000 to make the upgrade, Rmax2, or just try to find some elkas or after market shocks?
D-mode is not standard on Rmax models either, I just got a 24 R-spec , didn't realize it was not added. In canada it is 190$ + tax and shipping , you can get aftermarket rocker switches to do the same. But why they would not make a 200$ retail swtich standard on all Rmax's is beyond me or also the wolverine as you just reviewed , its a nice little option for such a small price tag for them to put in seems the pig tails and everything else is in place it cost Yamaha less than 100$ to just add it in .....end rant....... :)
I agree 100% about the doors being to low...I just bought a new Rmax X2 1000 SE and love the machine but those doors are way to low and yes would look much better higher also...I really thought by now either Yamaha or the aftermarket industry would have made door extensions and got rid of those silly shoulder supports...other than that this machine is awesome and I've owned quite a few SxS's over the years to compare to.
This is a great machine and is more than 5 grand cheaper than a YXZ in Canada anyways. Not sure what type of terrain you ride in, but if you do have the budget for the YXZ, have you looked at the RMAX Sport which is around the same price?
@@dirttraxtv I'm butting in here, but I would like to hear what PSI you ran in your test. I know everyone has their preference, but I like to hear the nitty gritty details.
Bravo, Yamaha. I wish you made this in 2020 when i got the 850x4. Now i wish you would make the accessories in your actaul catalogs so I can continue to add on and enjoy the machine. Im at the point of selling it and buying a differnet vehicle that has accesorie options from the factory i can actually buy like a enclosed cab. It wont be Yamaha next time since you proven you wont build the accesories for it.
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like a supply chain issue, which is likely something being experienced at other dealerships too. Hopefully it corrects itself soon.
Polaris could cut EVERY one of their models by 90% and I'd still buy any other brand or walk. I experienced the crappy Polaris quality way back in the late 80'S with their Trailboss 250. it was crap quality then, and crap quality now.

I was just going by the website specs… It’s the Yamaha Canada website that’s messed up.. I just looked up the 850, they list the 850 and the 1000 the same for bore and stroke. Somebody at Yamaha needs to get their ducks in a row.😂
Jeep type soft doors that open with the door would be another nice feature. Those closed zip open doors are a joke. The full hard doors have to have the hinges moved. This is not good. One would want to be able to take the full doors off and put on the half doors as needed. AGain...make soft jeep doors with the the bottom half hard, and the top soft part open like a door!!! Can am is doing this on their Commander. It is a no brainer...like why would you even think to NOT make the soft doors do this. Bad design by Yamaha, and it gives the appearance that they want to price gouge people for full doors that cost $3600. Latches on the outside of the half doors is a must too.
Who cares about the doors please yamaha I want parts availability.....everyime I need a part for my rmax there always backordered no parts in the USA or Japan......its a load of poop covid is over and im tired of the excuses about to sell it.
Best sport/utility machine in the market. The only gripe that I have is no unlocking the rear diff. It tears up lawns pretty much.

Appreciate that! 👊💥🎉
I don’t want taller doors….better sight lines and you feel more in touch with the outdoors when you’re not closed in so much.
I agree. I like the quality machine at a lower cost, I do believe a roof , windshield and slim line fender flares should be included for $18,000.
Best bang for the buck in the sxs market!
Agreed 💯
Awesome!!! Looks like a great rig. NOW let’s give the Viking the same facelift

wish they made a camo version like my 2019 x2!
I would like to see higher doors and also a deeper dump bed
Wow comes with a hand brake! Revolutionary!
Excellent review!!! Looking forward to a 2024 3 seat limited defender review and the ranger xd 1500. Keep em coming
Thank you very much! I appreciate that 🙏
I wonder how the weight compares with the Rmax. Maybe even geared lower with the smaller tires. Might beat the Rmax in a drag race.
I love my X2 xtr 850. But this is exactly what I wanted. Small for east trails and more power, clearance and suspension.

Shoulda went for the 1000, according to specs there's 5-6" more travel.
I like the smaller footprint, curious about the weight difference between it and the bigger Rmax
80-120 lbs depending on trim level.

This would be my choice of a new sxs!
Until the new Kawasaki ridge comes out.
@@MrMagic700 isn't the Ridge going to be pretty expensive even without the HVAC system?

Sat in one last weekend and the low doors are kind of useless And the shoulder bolsters are in the way for a bigger guy
Massive yes to the taller doors.....why are they so low? Its really noticeable in poor weather conditions. Please bring this to New Zealand.
How’s the legroom for taller drivers? I’m 6’3” with long legs so I don’t fit great in anything.
AJ and Luke are about 6, 1 and fit in the RMAX really comfortably. This has the same cab.
Same engine as Rmax 1000 but lighter so it should be faster and more nimble ?? Debating between this and a yxz.

It would be nice if you guys shared tire psi on your videos
