@@wayneb6583 gives quick an inherent advantage though because he would have a counter for chilln's zard instead of the matchups being random. It could possibly work if they do it in scarlet and violet though since charizard could tera into another type

Poison and ghost tie as my favorite typing but even I was blown away by chillins oddish! Don't sleep on the weak ones, a lesson taught by magicarp and zubat and I still slept

Could you do a random starter challenge where you pick one of the starters, but everything randomized, including the stats just like how they are on your kaizo runs. Would bring a fun twist into it.

Here's an idea for you both:
Roll a D6
Whatever the number you must random encounter a Pokémon with something pertaining to that number (E.G. roll a 3 and random encounter a Tauros which you catch because it has 3 tails).
Random encounter
Random Pokémon
Random abilities
Fully evolved
3 skips
Roll 6 sided die to determine feature of Pokémon to capture

Video idea: item battle! Both contestants agree on a list of 6 interesting items: for example, Leftovers, Focus Sash, Choice [Band? Specs? Scarf?], Weakness Policy, Assault Vest, and Lum Berry. After randomizing your teams, both competitors MUST attach the six held items to their team in whatever order they deem most strategically appropriate. The most interesting take here is choosing items which can be both very strong and which can backfire spectacularly when used wrong, such as Choice items, Black Sludge, and Eject Button. It would give worth to some otherwise useless moves/abilities (Switcheroo or Sticky Hold for example), while also adding an extra layer of chaos that still sits somewhere within manageable grounds.
Variant of this: The six items are 2x Choice Band, 2x Choice Specs, and 2x Choice Scarf...

Monty Hall challenge. You catch 6 random legends each, and 12 random non-legends each. You have three doors with one legend behind a door and a non-legend each on the other two. You pick a door you want, then another door with a non-legend behind it is opened. Do you keep your original door choice or change it?
