I’m a Ford guy and you have to understand that some teams just get it right, 888 don’t always get it right but they get it right the most, the only way a Ford team is going to win is by doing a better job which they have done a fair few times this year, Sandown has always been a 888 hunting ground for whatever reason they just click with the track and that’s it.

@@Mabeanie do you mean the FCY procedure? This allows marshalls to get on track sooner to clear hazards and means when team mates are behind one another the guy behind doesn't get stitched up with a double stack.
That's a good point. The purchase price might be lower, but you've got to think about the upkeep. Tires, insurance, repairs-those costs can add up fast. I wouldn't want to dive in without being fully prepared.
The Safety Car Procedure needs to be talked about for me. I fully understand that it allows for the clean up for marshalls to be a lot safer and more efficient. But, it took away a lot of racing for me. Red bulls were able to dominate in a very easy fashion and it will allow for them or whoever the dominate team is at Bathurst as well. I do like the thinking but I would prefer for us to take on a VSC type F1 yellow flag precaution (I do believe it was used after the 4th caution maybe) so there is a little bit more gambling as it will still allow for others who dont pit to take track position and not just forced back into the grips of the fresh tyre. The other yellow flag procedure I believe should be bringing back our old safety car where the leader will follow the saftey car as soon as passing or exiting the pit lane and all that follow will orderly get to the back of that line in the safest and most efficient manner possible. My example deriving from this would be Matt Payne pitting after the final saftey car taking the gamble for fresh tyres and dropping a couple places but we ran around for 3 laps @ 80km/h and that gamble led to nothing as others were also allowed to pitt for no loss. This didn't provide for more exciting racing but the most boring final 10 laps of an enduro in my recent memory (after a late yellow of that fashion). Enduro racing also allows for early mistakes to be rectified through sheer grit and good strategy but it was next to impossible for guys like Kostecki, Mostert and Heimgartner who all faced adversity in the first half of the race. Being unable to munipulate saftey cars they were pinned to the back and unable to fight back for those glorious tales of the comeback we V8 and motorsport fans in general love. Now this should take nothing away from the Red Bull guys, that was dominance and Will Brown, you are class but to Supercars I hope you can agree with me in reinstating our old safety car system while adapting the VSC yellow into it. To anyone reading I would love to hear what you guys have to say. Bring On bathurst!!
