If you’re ever in north Alabama region, or if I’m in South Georgia I’d like to do a video of your camper. Like to pick your brain a bit too as a pop up owner to inform others of typical questions. Your modifications are awesome. The reason you’re getting sway is likely the fact the manufacturer put the A/C unit behind the axle. That much weight behind axle isn’t a good design yet typical mistake seen in the industry. You’re correct that more weight on tongue will eliminate or reduce sway. Very important that you keep a battery installed during transit. Without battery you would lose break away brakes. In other words if camper comes loose while driving, the battery activates your trailer brakes, BTW, I’m from Bama but don’t Roll Tide, go Vandy!!
Ya'll must be in Georgia! Same here, Vidalia, GA! We just got our 1st pop up camper. We have been tent camping for yrs. And are getting too old to sleep on the ground! So for our 37th wedding anniversary, we got a 2010 used pop up! It looks like it may have been used only once or twice!
We do on most everything else we haul. The safety chains on this trailer actually connect with heavy-duty carabiners, so they're not coming off. And they're not long enough to cross. First time I had seen that on a trailer, but it actually works pretty well.
@@PopUpLife Crossed chains acts as a cradle in the event of separation from the tow vehicle and keep the tongue of the trailer from contacting the ground. It is required in some states
Like your upgrades, go ahead with the wrap project. Personalized touches are great. I noticed that your safety chains were not crossed, when you cross them it makes a basket for the tongue to fall into if camper ever came unhitched while towing. I bet the kids are ready for your next family adventure.....CAMP ON!!
Bike rack on the campers bumper. I did The same thing. it bent the camper bumper, camper bumper not strong enough to support the bike. Same setup you have. Careful 😜
Hey Travis, I like the customization you have done on the pop up. I just bought a pop out camper a month or so ago but haven’t had time to use it yet. I like what y’all are doing with the stickers and can’t wait to see the mountain scene wrap. Excellent channel here.
Thank you! We are having to take a break on videos for the next 8 weeks or so because Travis broke a vertebrae in his back :( but we should be back camping in the Fall!
@@PopUpLife Oh my gosh, I hope and pray everything goes well for him with his back and for your family in general. Travis seems like a tough man, he should heal in record time. Sorry y'all are going through this though. Holler if there is anything we can do to help!
We still go quite a bit. But we stopped filming the trips because we've decided to focus more on our gardening channel (Lazy Dog Farm). Glad you enjoy the videos we did make though!
For added safety, cross the safety chains over the ball hitch. Keeps 'em off the ground. Cut an access hole over the stabilizer, big enough to allow you to do whatever you need to do. If the hole is to big, make a door from the cut out piece.. Coat the bottom of the trailer also
Just subscribed to this, I heard you say on Hoss channel y'all liked to camp. Glad you got this channel too! We also bought a camper this year ! We have 2 boys too and they love it. Have fun and maybe we will see y'all at a campground somewhere
are you the guy from Hoss tools??..... ok looked at some comments and realized you are!! Love everything we got from you guys and love that you have a popup
Your modifications are looking great! I've been thinking about getting small cargo trailer for my tent camping gear. By the time I load up tent, chairs, bikes, kitchen stuff, food etc its takes up more space than my F-150 has!! Thanks for sharing
I cross them on every other trailer I have, but these aren't quite long enough to cross. The end of the chains has a carabiner instead of a hook, so it's hard to disconnect them if there isn't a little bit of slack.
i see you buy a lot of firewood at the camp ground ,will they let you bring your own wood in your state ? a lot of state parks and camp grounds will not let you bring in your own , because of bugs in the wood
"Ma Ma Mamma said I ain't go no social skills!"
😅 Good video man

Congrats on getting your first pop-up! Sounds like you found a good one!
nice mods and I really like the new front rack. As a safety issue, remember you should always cross your safety chains.

Thanks again for the great video. Would love to see the inside of the trailer.
We have several other videos on the channel where we show the inside.
I love your “Vanna White” kitty just hanging out!
Tiger loves the attention! hahah
Very cool, I like your style!

Hi Travis, are you still camping with the Pop Up?

Hi! Yes, that is Travis! He has recently left Hoss but you can find him on our Lazy Dog Farm channel!
Thanks for the video
If you want to look at a 2014 Starcraft Launch 16RB hybride self contained, ihave one for sale in Fla..very nice.
We're not looking to change campers at the moment, but thanks for the heads up!
Flex armor for your roof. Check it out. It’s AWSOME.

Exactly our problem as well!
You should cross your safety chains. Nice box.

What kind of stabalizer did you use? It looks like a single bar setup?
Our bunk ends have two diagonal bars each that keep each end pretty steady and then we have the stabilizer feet on each corner of the pop-up as well.
I’m a new subbie. What is the name of the product you want to put on the roof?
It's called a "Line-X" coating. I have it sprayed in the back of my truck as well.

Thanks!
i see you buy a lot of firewood at the camp ground ,will they let you bring your own wood in your state ? a lot of state parks and camp grounds will not let you bring in your own , because of bugs in the wood
They ask you not to do bring it but do not forbid it.
Wahoo!
Would not put fire wood on the front rack because you are going to burn up and use and need to keep the balance .
We usually switch it out on the way home for a cooler to help with the balance.
