    It’s great to see Wesley again. I just binged the entire TNG series for the first time in my life. Wesley was great. Unwarranted hate for no reason. I’m really glad they put a button on his story.

    After knowing how much abuse he endured from his parents, I fell sorry for Wheaton. It was nice to see him again here

      Well, 'abuse' is relative in today's day and age. Seems he really just disagreed with their politics. That is not abuse IMO.

      @@NewAgeGigolo dude you've got no idea what you're talking about. Will's parents were for sure abusive, both physically and emotionally. He talks about the extent of that abuse in his book "Still Just a Geek" and goes into it a little on the "Inside of You" podcast

      It comes more from TNG not really make a good character arc for him; they kind of just wrote around his character instead of writing for his character. Nog, in DS9, got the character arc he should of. He also has a blog he runs and a twitter acoount, that I do thinks he deleted, where he was supportive of people in the LGBTQ+ community among other social justices causes, which some people didn't like that (and by some people I mean those who have apparently never watch Star Trek as that is literally what is about).

    I can't get over how clunky the writing in this scene is. "I've never been safe". Somehow inertia is more important than actually choosing.

    1) There is a green screen behind both of them which is why they both look CGI'd
    2) Wil Wheaton acts if this is completely normal. This is two dead fish out of water trying to have a dramatic moment and it falls flat which is the reason why seasons 1 and 2 of Picard were the worst Star Trek ever made aside from discovery oh sorry... The Michael Burnham Show.
    3) When they teleported away they should have used the same CGI as the original show because that's not how they do it but continuity in the kurtzman verse makes no sense
    4) I honestly had to Google this scene because I couldn't remember that Will Wheaton was even on this show despite having watched it and I couldn't remember what happened to her character and I still don't even remember her name. All I can remember is season 3. That's how you know you made it bad show. What an addicted Star Trek fanboy absolutely has amnesia for the first two years.
    5) I really hope Terry and Jonathan frakes can get together and fix the rest of this before any more damage can be done. Maybe if we're lucky Discovery can be canceled forever, lower decks can be canceled forever, They will give up on the Picard sequel and we can do something with the enterprise crew since that show doesn't get enough love if they want to do something in the past, and then we can move into the future with a new show which would be acceptable for Cisco and Janeway to appear on the first season or two before handing it off to somebody else so we can finally push this story into the 25th and 26th centuries and maybe even get an Enterprise J continuation story that the Enterprise hinted at in the expanse battle.
    THATS WHERE WE SHOULD BE. Hell I even linked it all together for you guys. See how nice & neat? Want me to write it for you? I'm a writer. I can do that. Ffs...

    I don't know how I feel about this... In a deleted scene in Nemesis Wesley was back in Starfleet and was assigned to the Titan's engineering section. Now, he's a 'Traveler' again?
    Also, is this a character any of us really wanted to see again? No offence to Wil Wheaton. I would much rather have loved to see Sisko return as the 'Watcher' earlier in the season
    Not looking forward to season 3... :(

    • @langm1701

      1. The specific thing about your first statement is that it has the words deleted scene. It doesn't count towards the canon as it never appeared in the final cut.
      2. It makes more sense for it to be Wes over Sisko as Wes went travelling with the Traveler at the end of TNG, while Sisko resides in the Bajoran Wormhole with the Prophets, it would make zero sense for it to be Sisko as the Traveler when there is no possible connection for him to become one.

    • @mitchellwooldridge5118
      @mitchellwooldridge5118 Год назад

      @@langm1701 Fair point about the deleted scene. I understand the lore of Sisko and the Prophets but the inclusion of the Bell Riots arc felt like they were setting up a Sisko cameo. The Traveler connection was only stated by Wesley at the end so it could've been anything up until that point. Also Sisko (Avery Brooks) seems like the perfect character and actor to comment on social issues in that context. It would've been great to see him and Picard share an adventure together.

      @@davidcoss3493 I agree - it is better... but I wouldn't say 'leagues' better. It's marginally better, IMO. I think they're still playing it too fast and loose with the characters and the lore. That portal weapon in episode 3 was ridiculously far-fetched, even by Trek standards. (Just my opinion)

    • @samsmith1999
      @samsmith1999 Год назад +3

      No disrespect towards you, and I'm not trying to be confrontational towards anyone, but this show does not care about canon. It completely changed the character of Picard. His name is in the title and they got it wrong! Star Fleet now owns the slaves Picard warned them about. Canon is irrelevant to "Picard."
