I didn't think jazz and rock could merge so fantastically
I could. There was the whole Jazz fusion movement of the 1970's. Never heard it with hard rock like this before. The closest to this was the Ska revival of the 1990's like the Mighty Mighty Boss Tones and They Might Be Giants, but they were more alternative than metal. Sorry, don't mean to sound pretentious, just a bit of a growing music nerd that loves learning about different genres and genre mixes. In my opinion, Rock is the most versatile because you can mix it with Orchestra, Blues, Soul, Country, Reggae, and so on. Love Jeff and Casey. They are legends.
RWBY Trash Someone's never listened to Guilty Gear music then! I suggest checking it out; Daisuke Ishiwatari is a great musician, and I think it's pretty obvious Guilty Gear and especially BlazBlue (another ArcSys fighter that actually crossed over with RWBY recently) served as inspiration for Monty.

I can never decide whether Yang or Weiss has the best character songs
To me they're tied. Though I'll give a slight edge to the fact Weiss's songs are somewhat canonical within the RWBY universe. With Mirror Mirror part one and This Life is Mine preformed by Weiss in front of audiences. Hence her reputation as a singer, something Jaune himself mentions.
Not only that but weiss's songs have more meaning to it. Yangs songs aside from armed and ready are just about beating people up XD which still, i like.
Well, I mean if we're going to go there all of Team RWBY's songs have a basic concept they revolve around. Ruby is all about the sense of loss and coping with it, Blake's is all about the inability to deal with the pressures in her life , Weiss is about the sense of duty and the loneliness that accompanies it, and yes Yang is all bout violence and vengeance.
Though they all advance beyond this concept by the end of Volume 5. With Blake her songs reveal she can't deal with the pressures of her life because all her choices end badly . Yang shows there is an underlying purpose to the way she acts and presents herself. She is Fire and fire is both a tool and a weapon , it can light the darkness and be used to protect. Lastly Weiss's songs do perhaps show a tad more character development . With Isolation we see a a somewhat despairing side of her character, in Mirror Mirror Part one we see a bleak acceptance of her fate, In Mirror Mirror Part 2 we see an admittance that while her life is far from prefect she does live a life of luxury and that her trials have made her strong. Finally in in This Life is Mine she shows her anger at the loneliness, at the imposed duty, at the demands placed upon her, at the "Royal Test" as it were. And how her life is finally her own .
Really though both Weiss and Yang have decent development in their songs. Weiss shows us that her choices are her's alone, the story of her life will be writ by her hand alone. Yang on the other shows she fights because that is what Heroes do , they fight. Even if that means getting their hands a little dirty and suffering a little. That a hero ( or rather heroine ) has to rise past themselves , something Armed and Ready in particular shows.
Yes maybe Weiss's songs do have a tad more complexity in that but Weiss's story is a bit more complicated then Yang's. Yang is more straightforward then Weiss is both personality and story wise. But that doesn't make either better in the end. They are simply two approaches to making a good character and both work to create a good series of songs in and of themselves.

RWBY actually does a pretty neat thing with how the broad strokes of it's story can be found in its soundtrack. I mean it's most notable with the openings' and final credits', but all the character pieces and fight songs track the character and story arcs.
Couple places in this song also have callbacks to that bit of text that showed up at the beginning of the Yellow trailer.
Rwby has a better soundtrack than any other show.

Hell yeah! My favorite from Team RWBY, the other favorite being Weiss. Don't get me wrong, Ruby and Blake are great, but I feel something toward Yang and Weiss. they're feelings, their attitudes, their styles, but underneath are big hearts. Or maybe I'm just thinking of Waifus, who knows?

I'm starting to like the idea of Jeff incorporating the sax into Yang's songs. It oozes more "self-control with style to power up" and not "tantrum turning into power". Although Yang getting really mad was definitely more hype in my opinion.
What I want to see more than anything from RWBY is a fight scene between Yang and Adam, where the fight is fairly even until something happens to Yang's robo arm, like it gets cut off or something, but it doesn't matter because Yang just starts destroying Adam with one arm.
Always had a fascination with fight scenes involving only one arm.

I just realized that Yang's glow when using her ability causes her eyes to glow in a way similar to the maidens, making her even more of a reverse of Raven.
Its too bad that the final piece this song is missing is its parallel to Volume 5 where Yang kicks ass as hard as this song went. I get that it was just stuggles with production though. At least we got her vs the bandits. It wasn't crazy epic but still sweet to watch.
Tbh, the earlier part of this song perfectly encapsulates the way I imagine Yang's "fight" with that one tool whose teeth she punched in twice

I don't remember yang doing anything in volume 5 , she didn't win against mercury ( she was getting rekt ) so yang was kind of useless in volume 5 .But I think that in volume 6 she will be killed by adam because she did not learn anything from her mistakes she is twice as confident as before, so when she goes to meet him she's going to be hit twice as hard .

Also, you sound like someone who hasn't watched RWBY. You should get around to watching Volume 3 soon, cause if you did, you would learn that it wasn't confidence that was Yang's issue, it was throw fists first, plan ahead never. And when you start to watch Volume 5, you'll notice that Yang's fighting style is less direct and more efficient.
You should watch the series first before trying to shit on it.

This isn't I Burn part 3 but more of a prequel. This plays during the Yang short, which is way before the Yellow trailer. Yang isn't in Beacon yet, and her flame is just about to be ignited in V1 and then subsquently torched off in V3 and ignited once again in V5, but since it plays during the Yang short this is more of an I Burn Part 0, like Path to Isolation is Mirror Mirror Part 0, if anything Armed and Ready is the Ignite of post V4-V5
