you forgot to mention Batman and Ironman, both are genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. Batman also designed a mechanical exoskeleton suit and beaten up superman to pulp (without the arc reactor). They both have endless number of premium cars, Batman has batcomputer, ironman has jarvis, etc. etc.
I always saw Iron Man as a hybrid of Batman and Supes (back in the day, before Bats made an anti-Superman weapons suit), with a few twists. Tony really is the fun-loving rich playboy that Bruce *pretends* to be, and his armor gives him super-powers. I always saw Spidey the same way. Before he gets his powers, Peter really is a glasses-wearing wimp, which Clark only pretends to be. Raised with middle-class values. Gets his powers and they basically make him a faster, super-strong Batman. Uses gadgets, swings from webs instead of rope-lines.
Swamp Thing and Man-Thing -- the comic book creators were roommates. There is a little more detail to the whole Superman vs Captain Marvel/Shazam vs Mar-Vell/ Captain Marvel than is being told here. For instance, Fawcett comics and National Periodicals (DC) went to court against each other more than once before the matter was settled-- and then it was settled out of court, due mostly to Fawcett running out of money because of court costs and declining sales (the "Shazam" Captain Marvel comics had once outsold the Superman comics but eventually began to slump). Fawcett finally threw in the towel, gave DC a monetary settlement and ceased to publish any more comics with their character. It's also worth mentioning that the "Shazam" Captain Marvel had the ability to fly before Superman did. You can read more about the convoluted legal history of the name "Captain Marvel" on several online sites (e.g., there was another comic book company in the 60s that showcased a character named "Captain Marvel" who was an android with the weird ability to split his body apart and have each section battle the bad guys).
