- A rich and colorful tradition brought to life. Takes us on a journey of over 200 years of band history from the “Harmonie” ensembles of Colonial America (late 18th century) to the professional touring bands of the early 20th century exemplified by the great John Philip Sousa Band.
Thank you very much for this interesting documentation of American music bands and their unforgettable composers
Thanks so much, we have lost so much of this brilliant culture! FUN!
WOW!!!!
Paul was the conductor that gave me my first professional orchestral job.
Thanks Paul 👍
Hello, I really enjoyed this video. So much to learn.
Would you share the arrangement of the march "Maggie by my side"?
I want my band to play it at our Memorial Day Parade.
I usually only play Civil War era pieces during the parade (Cheer Boys Cheer, Concordia, Roddy McCorley etc.)
Do you still research Band History
Don't forget super market and parking lot openings.
Hi thanks for this Amazing video! It's possibile to see the second part?
I am afraid not Federico. This two part video was filmed in the late 1980s on VHS Video Tape. I converted Part I only to digital format because I participated in Part One. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video. You may enjoy several other of my videos on RUclips (e.g., WAR HORSES & WIND CLASICS, Robert Garofalo conducting The US Army Band). Just enter my name in the RUclips search heading. Best wishes, Roberto J. Garofalo
