    Thanks for letting Bill just run around in his own mind to answer the questions. It's a relief when I get to see great talent unbounded by the interview structure. Or as least as possible, that is.

    Going off on tangents like he did is so gratifying to hear. Doesn't sound like a regular interview, sounds like a guy talking about what he loves and his experiences as a professional in that field. Great interview, on a great channel that just keeps getting better!

    So good to hear from a master. Gotta do a two hour Kayfabe with him. He was only getting started!

    Great video. Bill is definitely a giant. I was talking to Sam Kieth at NYCC last year and he said that Sienkiewicz in the 80's was like Picasso, after him, anything was possible.

    Amanda Conner modeled for Sinkiewicz on Elektra Assassin. Once you know, you really can see the likeness.

    besides the great questions about his art and his career, I really like the look of admiration you guys have for him and his work. it's what everyone who likes comics have when they meet the true heroes of comics... the creators

    Gents, do a breakdown on Fantastic Four #219. Very early Sienkiewicz. A great insight to the artist trying to find his style while still somewhat fettered by that Shooter editorial philosophy.

    Thank You! This was awesome. Bill was a major turning-point for me. He was so generous.
    I hope you guys get the chance to dive-deep with more creators. No one respects/loves the medium more than the Kayfabe.

    Excellent interview! I've always loved Bill Sienkiewicz's work, especially on Moon Knight during the late seventies and early eighties! And let's not forget his covers for both Dazzler and New Mutants (among other countless titles)! I'm equally delighted that Sienkiewicz's art style ultimately transitioned--and evolved--from a Neal Adams-inspired feel into something more unique and groundbreaking!

    I think it’s cool how the king of multimedia kinda talks all over the place with the same idea in mind 😅 a funny reflection of how his mind works. Like “this sentence is going well but here are a couple different answers I can use to illustrate my point”

    Loved it. Thank you fellas.
    I loved the fact that he mentioned as part of doing his job, “you look at everything” , echoing that as an artist you take influence from other forms. Also I was interested in hearing about his relationship with Denis Cowan, they seem to work a lot together and even share similar ( though it may be because he always inks Cowan).
    Does anyone know if he also has assistants for his commercial work? I had heard that he does.

    • @CartoonistKayfabe
      @CartoonistKayfabe  5 лет назад +9

      Sienkiewicz and Cowan shared a studio in the mid 80s. He mentions it in the Elektra Comics Interview Special from 1986 (or from an Amazing Heroes around that time). So they definitely worked closely and I'm sure they influenced each other. I see some similarity in their line work at times.
      I'm not sure about assistants. That's a pretty common practice so I would guess he has worked with assistants but that's just a guess on my part. Dean Haspiel was like an intern/assistant when Chaykin, Simonson, and a few other early/mid-80s Marvel guys had a studio. I think Sienkiewicz was part of that space at the time. Haspiel has talked about that in interviews.
      If you want more Sienkiewicz, I'd recommend his Comics Journal interview from 85-86. It's pretty interesting to see what he's thinking about at that time, knowing the comics that he made from then until the early 90s. It's a staggering run of comics. - Jim
