Been doing well on my local river with the Lunker Log lately ,but yesterday ,I caught my P.B. largemouth on one. It is rare to catch a largie in this river, let alone one of this size. Thank you from a 60 year fisherman to Googan baits!

Do you have a baitcasting combo you'd recommend around that price? I have some decent spinning combos, but I'd like to try a casting rod/reel without breaking the bank on my first one
walmart normally sells a really good real tree baitcaster around 80-90 usd its a medium heavy as well

@@Saiz_Mann I use an Abu Garcia x Berkeley cherrywood combo. It’s like 60-70 bucks. I also have one using the jawbone casting rod 2021 I think and it’s extremely good for only being 20 bucks at dicks. I’ve caught my pb which is a 7 pounder on that rod and reel and quite a few other bass that were 3,4,5 and even 6 pounds on them!

I own the curado dc and absolutely love it i want the black series to go with but i have a st croix mojo bass with mine atm keep it up man much love as always!
I planted my DC in a similar muddy bank. It was grinding terribly.
When I got home, I took all the line off and removed the spool.
With an air compressor, I blew out the bearings and put 3 drops of T9 oil.
Then I put the spool back in and held the reel so the spool was vertical and sent 125 lbs of air into the spool, and it was spinning fast. I removed the spool and used a qtip to wipe the grungd from the bearing. I did the same on the other bearing. I did it twice, and now my reel is back to its original state.
There's no need to take the whole real apart since it's sealed very well from the factory.
My reel was less than 4 hours old when this happened.

Good to know that you can clean it up and fix it I’m new to bass fishing and was told to avoid beach/ salt water fishing with the curado dc so they recommended me the curado 201K instead but I wanted the whine so bad I bought them both

That 5-0 action was there for a reason. That lake is all but shut down until the construction project concludes. WSSC confirmed that when I visited a few weeks back. There's also no fishing after sunset.
I have that exact . Had it for 3 years. Caught a 4 foot shark with it last weekend and it held up pretty well.

I caught an 11lb largemouth on a spiderman push button kiddie pole. My little brother thought he was snagged in some lillypads and was hooked on a monster largemouth that ate a bluegill he caught. I was trying to unsnag him when i realized I was fighting a beast on a kiddie pole with 4lb line. It's nice to have an expensive set up, but you can can anything with the basics.
I think a Smallie Challenge or Snakehead would be pretty lit!!!

I used that rod with a piscifun spark pro . I loved that setup on the river and then I watched some of your videos and it got swept away in the current while I was wading in 5 ft of water .I was trying to save a lure. I was 😢
Googan needs to let you make your own custom Bumper at this point.
If you ever have a reel seat do that in the future a few wraps of PTFE thread tape should fix it. 🙂

I’m not a fan of the Googan gear. I bought two Googan gold go-to rods (one casting and one spinning) and both broke at the tip. Can’t get a hold of catch co. for warranty claims. As much as I enjoy this channel, I’m never buying into the hype ever again.
Yeah the baits are fine and I’m sure the terminal tackle is too, but I’m never buying any of their rods or reels.
@@dwightshelford3061 lesson learned. These guys catch a lot of attention and catch co just wants to push out products. Problem is they didn’t put enough effort into making the products more reliable. Basically just bought a bunch of blanks from China and stamped it Googan Squad.

i was totally debating trying a local made lure called a perch pounder but was skeptical due to the size of it.. its a smaller spinner bait type lure.. but after watching this video i am totally getting it for white perch.. if they can smack that normal size spinner bait this one should work fine...LOL
I do not do high priced equipment, at least not yet. I have a two 6 ft. Medium Durango rods from Walmart one in that reddish/orange color, and one in the dark blue. They work fine for what I am fishing for at present. I am also waiting to find out how my $30 Temu bait caster that is a Daiwa knock-off, or uses some Daiwa parts, performs. I am getting another inexpensive rod to use with it which is coming in the mail in a few days.

I buy a new Walmart rod and reel combo each year for 20 bucks. They usually break by the end of the season. I am pretty hard on equipment so I don't mind. Wouldn't want to mess up a nice combo.

Got thinking it would be fun to see. In Canada we got these ugly stik dock skippers it's a little 3-4 foot rod or something. A challenge seeing how big of fish you could get be hilarious. I got thinking it cuz my brother got one for his daughter and for shits he used it for a day and caught a massive largie with one and I died laughing when I saw the pictures.

Try fishing with steel rod from the 40’s and pflueger bait casting knuckle buster with black Dacron line 1/4 oz weight with a worm. Fished this lake 60 years ago this way and caught fish.
Now that was a fun fishin trip!!!

i use omniflex as leader for everything i do for as long i can remember. from sunfish to 50lbs striped bass to issues with that stuff.
