Gavin, thank you for adding in racing footage of the 1:1 Celica, many times I’m not familiar with these rally kits that Tamiya has produced and the historical footage helps me appreciate the kit even more 👍
Good to see the TA01 Celica on the channel. Was lucky to find one myself earlier this year, in box with manual, built, but with unpainted original body and full set of original decals. Pleased to have it now as I always liked it when I was young. Great channel, keep up the good work!
How weird as I’m just doing my GT-Four body shell at the moment which I’ve had since last Christmas. Hope you can get one soon as I love to see your work on these type of shells 👍🏻
Rally cars seem to be popular at the moment. I have an idea for content, it would be interesting to see a few rally builds compared. 1. An old TA02/1 based rally car. 2. An upgraded TT02 (on a budget, I have just finished a build like this for my son and it has turned out great). 3. An XV02.... All of course topped in retro rally bodies.
Very nice RC10, I raced this in those days😍 You might get a Paintkiller (carsen) to clean and restore the celica. That's massiv work but it will do the job!
That Team Car massively better nick than mine. My one though, out of the box came with three piece hubs front and rear (which I've still got) with plastic three spoke plastic locking wheel nuts. Cool car, even if I say so myself.
Neill very cool contribution! And No, no I do not feel sorry for Neill having a one on one with the Man the Myth The LEGEND of RCKicks himself for three hours. Nope, I cannot sorry over that. No envy here, nope.... I think the battle scarred Celica body looks epic! This car is well maintained survivor and that body shows it's not a wall flower. Just me, but that body tells a story. And it's not mangled just showing battle scars of competition. I wouldn't touch it even if you get a fresh one for full restoration. Whiten the wheels but the body looks great. RC 10s I have learned more about them on RCKicks and I think they started in southern California when I was just barely working in the aviation industry. But other than seeing them at shops and become dominant in ROAR events in the area I do not know much about RC10s. Prof. Gavin has filled in the gaps nicely.
Hi Gavin, awesome haul there, just a wee aside on the RC10, you mentioned the carbon fibre chassis, not the best upgrade ever imho, i was a mid A final runner with the standard alloy chassis, but when I got the carbon fibre chassis, holy cow man i ended up in the lower runners in the B final, waaaay tooooo freaking light, by the time I would get it balanced it ended up being slightly heavier than the alley chassis, go figure, almost impossible to keep the front wheels on the track, it was very disappointing to say the least, just stick with the tried and trued methods. 😊
Have you ever contemplated wet sanding the plastic parts to get the scratches out, instead of buying new parts? I've done this a few times and with some 2000 grit paper and some car polish you can get quite a refurb.
Massive thank you Niell for your generous contribution to all our RC loving enjoyment!
Great additions to the collection and I am looking forward to seeing the restoration!

I love that orange and cyan body. Reminds me of the old Gulf oil race cars

Can't wait to see the Celica revived. If only the RC sounded as good as the original!
Nice scores there Gavin 👍

That RC10 team car is a bit nice ;) two really cool projects to add to the to do list , look forward to seeing them done. Nice one Neil ;)
Thanks Andy. Have you found space for the epic Clod of yours yet? I have the same issue with mine, storage locations lol.

If the long term plan is to get repo shell then I would keep the original as is and keep them all together as it is part of the story of the kit.
Ahh the ST165, what would be great is if they brought out the ST185 that won the world rally champion ship with Carlos Sainz

That RC10 has a Twister sticker on it throw a Twister motor in it.
Used to have the escort cosie on that chassis 👍
I should never have let my 6035 Team Car go 😣

Upvc micro mesh kits are brilliant for restoring scratch plastic
Yes I’ve seen it done. I would like to get a polishing kit and giving it a go.
@@RCKickschannel we get them with work as I do smart repairs on upvc windows and doors etc
I can send one over if you like
cars looking good, always liked the Celica
Can you recommend a pro painter?
Bodies or drivers and cockpits?
@@RCKickschannelbodies 👍🏻
Who do you use for your pro painted bodies?
I'm surprised you haven't said anything about the Schumacher procat coming out in a kit.
I’m not getting one on the show.
@@RCKickschannel I don't think I am either it cost too much $400 in the US.
you could always just keep the original body and drive it , lol , you have so many shelf q's
I have a new in package body for that but I’m in the USA unfortunately.
Shame as I would purchase it off you
Ok ok, but... Ave you an TK10 ??? And a rc10 Hot trick ???🤔🤔🤔
Yawn another rc10
