  • When your technics Sl-3300, Sl-3310 , sl-5300 but also the sl-230, sl-231, sl-235 have the problem that the arm keep repeating while the repeat function is off that means the grease on a certain point in the turntable is completely dry and need to be cleaned. It is a very simple job. After this job when you place the repeat function on 0 the arm will rest as normal after it came back

This was perfect, thanks so much, it just solved for my SL3300 constantly repeating. I wasn't sure the little white plastic arm was proper on the repeat cam gear, but once put back together, working perfectly. Also cleaned the speed pots while inside it and keeping perfect speed now too.

Great instructions - I had exactly the same problem on my SL-3310 and followed these instructions to get it working correctly. I had to do the same to an additional moving part on the same 'arm' (which was also gummed up with old grease) to get it working. Thanks!!!!!

Heb Griffon consistenvet gebruikt. Bedankt!!!!!

Thank you so much! I''m a novice when it comes to repairs, and this helped me greatly! I've got an Technics SL-D3 that was stuck in repeat as well. Looks really different inside, the metal thing you removed is shaped differently and is made of plastic for example, but learning from you that I can remove the metal ring(s) and e-clip helped! Greased it, put it back together and it works! Thanks!!

Thank you! I did not have the exactly same problem, but you showed me how to remove the bottom and opening it up and then I checked every moving component with old grease. I actually did not remove the all parts, just gave them a little WD40. Then it worked! Thanx!

Worked for me for when the arm is driven across the platter instead of dropping at the 12" outer edge. Cheers~!

These video's are very helpfull, looks like that problem is the same as that of my brothers Technics turntable from 1980, he hadn't used it for decades, stored it at the attic but when i tried it... that repeating problem occured, it's not the same Technics but there's a good possibility it might be the same mechanism. Another one of his stored turntables the B&O 4002 had an armlift problem and that was also caused by dried out grease. i think many old stored turntables from different brands have this sort of problems but it can easily be solved like Vintage stereo shows.

This was very helpful. Wondering if Mr. Vintage Stereo can help with my problem on a Technics SL-230 belt-driven turntable. My albums skip/stick usually in the same spot, no matter the record - about 2-3 minutes into the first song. After that, it seems to sort itself out. But it's annoying and frustrating. Wonder if the problem highlighted here might be the fix fore my issue. Or maybe not. I have tried realigning and the weight on the cartridge and the tonearm every which way imaginable with no luck. Even tried with other cartridges but the problem persists. Suggestions? Solutions?

Thanks ,one other little niggle is when I press Stop it does stop but takes a good 10 seconds to start the process, any ideas why, thanks again

    Leuke video's !

great video! thank you! I have a similar problem. When the arm reaches the end of the record, it does not automatically go back. So repeat doesn't work either. is the mechanism on which I have to act the same? or is the problem in another leverage?

  • @spectral6978

That clip was a c-CLIP. Note the plastic gear inside. They also wear out over time. The teeth break off.
