  • Another standout car in our Gruppe P auction is this five-owner 1965 356 SC Cabriolet once owned by respected Porsche collector, Dr. Bill Jackson. Here, Cam Ingram and Steve Serio discuss the history, documentation, and some of what makes the 356 SC models such great cars.
1965 marked the official end of the 356, shortly after the 911 was brought to market in 1964. The C and SC models offered a number of improvements over its predecessors, namely with the implementation of disc brakes at all four corners and the SC option which featured the most powerful pushrod engine ever offered in a 356, boasting 95 horsepower.
This example is one of approximately 1,400 cabriolet models produced in 1964 and left the factory finished in Champagne Yellow paintwork with a black leather interior. The kardex lists the chrome side trim, a green tinted windshield, 2 loudspeakers, and antenna among the list of option. Lucas driving lamps were added by its subsequent owner, and Dr.Jackson located the optional hard top.
