I actually really love that the motel is from parasite eve 2, really clever “re”use of assets!
Well, given that Parasite Eve 2 is a completely different game made by a different company, it's not really a re-use of assets is it?
@@tyrians well, considering the mod isn't made by either Capcom or Square, and the assets aren't new, or being used in there original context, then yes, yes it is reusing assets. In the "re" context even more so, because it is "resident evil" using the assets.
@@rtype112000 See, that's going from reusing assets to straight up stealing them. They're stolen assets.
@@tyrians stolen or not, it's still being reused, as it is not being used in it original context. The modding community is rife with stolen assets, but as long as no one is trying to profit from them, it's largely overlooked and considered to be "fine."

This crossover actually makes so much sense. Employees that worked on Resident Evil 1.5 ended up working on Parasite Eve 2.

The game has already been reverse engineered and completely dissembled. The issue is more that this requires actual coding, unlike using Unity or UE, it requires knowledge of old systems like MIPS, x86, hexidecimal, etc
What these modders do is simply magic to me. I can't wait to watch the full thing.

One of the best mods I've seen so far. So many nice little details like:
Trent is a character from the S.D. Perry novels.
The motel register being signed by Alice from the RE movies.
'Lords and Ladies' is TV show from the first Max Payne game.
The motel being an unused scenario from RE Outbreak and Mickey who was to appear in the same scenario known as 'A Day In Raccoon'.

Wasn’t aware of an “unused scenario” from Outbreak. Where can I find more info on this?
@@scottyjbd RE Outbreak was initially going to have 18+ scenarios but they had to cut it down to 5, one of them being set in a motel on the edge of town and the scenario was called A Day on Raccoon. It’s on the resident evil wiki.
It looks like this has borrowed from part of the story of that scenario, with Mickey being a bit of an arse.

I like how they don't just throw enemies at you to build tension. Also like the troll vibe too, like with the umbrella box I thought it'd be a gun, but nah, just bullets LOL And the BELL LOL

This was so cool! I loved the PE2 areas and all the references to games and movies.
Yeah I like the desert area in pe2 the most. It was the funniest part of the game.

Video game companies should be making games like these anyways. A group of 5 talented ppl could churn out these projects without spending a ton of money...and there's a lot of ppl who'd eat the games up. Seriously, this type of game could be sold for $10-$20. It's incredibly dumb that it's NOT happening already.
They love to take PE2 assets but then again they are quite nice and some of them are fitting into the classic re games. Akropolis tower would have been a great place to visit during RE3

These are my favorite type of mods it's like seeing an unreleased classic resident evil game. I can't wait for a full release
One thing I noticed immediately was the melody from the Resident evil movie as the introduction song. Really cool detail!!!!

alright you gotta explain Mickey to me, so he's a peeping Tom, working at a motel that has a half dozen zombies running around and he's acting like it another boring day at work. And after we catch him peeping we never see him again.

Its nice that they kinda merged Resident Evil with the Parasite Eve Games, the Motel is a Conversion of PE 2 Desert Motel and it looks awesome :P

How did anyone get this mod to work? I installed biohazard2 sourcenext, installed the latest classic rebirth dll (from aug 2020), then extracted the REvisited files into the biohazard 2 folder. I dont understand why this isnt working. Can someone help?

Nostalgia or not this is always going to be my favourite graphics style of gaming, compaired to now you had to use some imagination haha but that was part of the fun of it and offcourse you got the nostalgia part where you sit on the ground in front of the tv(way too close) looking up at your heavy bulky glassscreen tv hoping the sun wouldn't shine directly unto it.
the first moment you booted up your playstation waiting for the intro song and hearing that sweet sweeticonic: RESIDENT EVIL 2 in a scary spooky voice.
Also for some reason i can't really explain i find the games i played as a kid had better writen storylines than the ones today,today games seem msotly the same while back then horror games were very diffirent from eachother you had the zombie games vampire games silent hill and other psychological horror games and jumpscare ones,cartoonie horror games.
the one plus side to living now though is we get awesome peopel making this type of fangames set in the resident evil universe based on notes and papers we found through out the games when we werelittle^^ this is perhaps not canon by official means but to me it totally gets accepted.(i always hope capcom would hire a team who only works on adding to the original games and we can then buy them for a fair price(not too much seeing these modders and creators let us play them for free but i am willing to pay a little for it just so the developers get some support) ^^
