the mob outside is chanting "where's the pics where's the pics" I think you better link the wedding dancer pics, I don't think I can hold them back much longer
1) Kendahl is definitely mature for her age. I’m 34 and was shocked to hear that she was 10 years younger than me! 😱 2) The two of you have the best connection and banter I absolutely adore this podcast! 3) As someone who had a wedding under $10K I completely agree with everything you guys said. It 100% is a scam and the cheaper you make it the better off you’ll be!
YES I agree that cocktail hour and appetizers should be before the wedding! We got married in a broke rush when it was legalized.. but have always had dreams of a fabulous queer wedding. We will keep y'all in mind when we finally get to have our vow renewal/ wedding 😊
I got married a few months ago and it was one of the most stressful things I have done. So glad it’s over with. Honestly I feel like the honeymoon is your reward for putting up with so much.
to this day getting married at the courthouse and then having a giant BBQ with friends and family my best decision ever - even thinking of having a traditional wedding stressed me out SO much.
I totally agree about the cake being a must...people sleep on cake but there are so few occasions where you get to eat a deluxe-ass, buttercream icing cake. we need more of that tbh
I got married in Hawaii with 12 guests - and we loved everyone who we invited so much! My partner and I are both introverts and love to travel -so that was perfect for us. Stress free! We also had sushi for dinner after the ceremony. 😊 This was fun! Found a new podcast to look forward to!
I had a moderate wedding and it still felt like too much. I did it for my mom. I’ve made it very clear to my kids that smaller is better. Do whatever you want.
Covid sucks ass. Shutdown sucked ass. But my silver lining was my >$100 marriage that took place in 2 minutes over zoom in my apartment in my pajamas. Covid made that possible and it was my ideal marriage. We had to go in person to do the marriage license but like... it was perfect. Our cats were our guests and then we watched The Princess Bride in bed with a box of cheez its. And with all the money we saved we bought an entire brand new couch. A major upgrade from our $20 craiglist one straight from the 70s. We got married a couple of years ago and the rest of the money we saved is going toward purchasing a home. The millennial dream.
At my wedding in September we got married at my parents house on the river- so venue free. Our officiant was our good friend, so it was personal and not religious- free and we did exchange private personal vows to one another. We didn’t say them in from of everyone and we didn’t even have the photographer taking any photos. We also had pizza as the food and salad and pasta salad. We did all of our photos before the guests arrived and just did a first look, which is super common. We didn’t do any wedding showers or bridal showers. The only party other than the wedding we had was a stock the bar where we got a ton of alcohol so we were able to have a fully stocked open bar. It was perfect.
I was planning a traditional wedding, we joked as a gift to my MIL because we wouldn’t give her a grandkid. But then she died, so we eloped to Vegas with our closest loved ones. Don’t regret even a bit.
Ok more thoughts: People need to have reasonable non-meat options at weddings. At my cousin’s wedding, the vegetarian “option” was literally the sides from the other entrees. So I had to eat some broccoli and mashed potatoes for dinner. So lame.
Love this podcast and the content.. my biggest opinion on this is, yes WEDDINGS are a scam. Marriage…depends on the culture and country 🤷♀️ These words are not synonymous!😘
Paddy Chayefsky wrote a play about the senseless, appearance-oriented, social-status related aspect of weddings, which Gore Vidal turned into a vehicle for Bette Davis and Debbie Reynolds called "The Catered Affair."
I got a surprise wedding/engagement in Las Vegas during a family vacation. My husband even got my parents and his mother there when they weren’t initially part of the group going. Probably under $5k. Still talked about 2.5 years later and beyond happy to just proclaim our love and partnership without months of planning colors and desserts 😁
I gotta feeling is the Black Eyed Peas song you're thinking of 52:25 !!! "[Refrain: will.i.am, Fergie] Fill up my cup Mazel tov Look at her dancin' Just take it off (I feel-) Let's paint the town We'll shut it down Let's burn the roof And then we'll do it again (I feel-) Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it, let's do it And do it, and do it, let's live it up And do it, and do it, and do it, do it, do it Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it"
I have a question for a future podcast: can you talk about the dynamics of hetero vs gay relationships and particularly how the power dynamics between the two people might be different (or similar)? Obviously it’s hard to generalize but I feel like there could be an interesting discussion to be had.
My fiancé and I have always planned on only having a party and honeymoon/vacation and having a tiny “ceremony” even if you could call it that, with just us.
saaaamee!!! i was a bridesmaid at my friends wedding and it made me want a wedding so badly even though i’ve ALWAYS wanted to elope and like who am i gonna invite anyways 😂
I can't get over the 5 different black eyed pea songs mentioned dbsjwghdgwhd. Granted, idk which one they meant either! So excited for this new pod though!!!!!
I hate weddings, i don’t like crowds and the small talk is usually painfully bad. The last two i was invited to i skipped out before the cake was served. Love that y’all love them tho
Really enjoyed this episode! Kendahl blends in with the background and the tiny photo partially cut off by her head is so distracting. When we get the zoom out, her background is adorbs! I have such a love hate with split screen.
Um, maybe it's the European in me, but like.... you know you can have a small wedding, right? My sister had a small wedding, only immediate family were there. It was still probably expensive, but not excessively.
I think I've only been to christian weddings where either the parents throwing the wedding were aggressively religious or the bride was and I've never seen anyone but the groom take a garter off the bride. I cannot imagine some rando man doing that.
This was so much fun to listen to! 🤣 I think you should get married at VIDCON! It would be great PR, and then goofy fan families that love you could attend! 😉 Oh, and the song is “I Gotta Feeling”. I know because it was featured prominently at our wedding! 😂 Hugs!
lots of people here are not understanding that when you want an unneeded event a specific way but know its just not affordable or worth it for you, then it makes more sense to just not do it. jordan probably knows a small wedding isnt what she wants but a big one she'll love isn't realistic. either financially or time & energy wise or mental/physical health wise or a million other reasons
I cannot agree more! Let’s be honest no one wants to go to a dumbass wedding anyway. It’s almost narcissistic at this point unless you’re super religious.
Weddings are for sure a scam, but do you think legal marriage is a scam? Very different questions. I got married outside a courthouse in 2020 because covid, with my partner's and my immediate families. We had everyone over to our apartment where we cooked a sentimental meal for them (my partner and I both love to cook and bake) and the whole thing was lovely. We considered doing a wedding a couple years later, but very quickly realized that weddings are an absolute scam and simply not for us. So we're thinking about throwing a nice, sentimental dinner for our friends on our 5th anniversary since they couldn't be involved during the pandemic festivities. I love being married, but it also doesn't feel markedly different from being in a committed relationship. I was with my partner for 8 years before we got married, and when asked if I felt different, I really couldn't describe much. So I completely understand when people say they think marriage itself isn't worth the paperwork lol
The only thing I hate almost more than weddings is listening to people discuss food. Totally agree though that weddings suck ass. The vows are sappy and/or stupid. I don’t like the attention. And I definitely don’t like the cost. My husband and I only wasted $300 on my dress, then had the wedding and reception in our house. My mom made lasagna. So we spent a couple hundred on wedding stuff, I guess. There might have been 30 people there, and even that was too much.
Does anyone else recognize the host on the left from good mythical morning? I like good mythical morning and I like the other host and I had to clue they were together until today. Please correct me if I am wrong but I think they are together
Lesbian divorce rate is 34%. Statistics showed that the divorce rate in gay couples is substantially lower than in straight couples. Not sure where you got your statistic cause that’s trash.
Happy wife, happy life is exactly why most simp relationships are vomit inducing for BOTH, in reality. Yup. Reality is a bitch. Face it, then not so much.
✝Bible prophecy is falling off the pages of the Bible. If you aren't saved, you should get saved now before it's too late because Jesus is coming very very very soon. Salvation Scripture➡1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Romans 10: 9-10, Eph 2:8-9✝

"is it the perfect wedding if I'm not there?!" 😂😂😂❤
well listen lmao
10 minutes into planning my wedding day, we decided to elope, and I wouldn't change a thing.
Then arguing about a hypothetical dream wedding is so funny to me
I got married a few months ago and it was one of the most stressful things I have done. So glad it’s over with. Honestly I feel like the honeymoon is your reward for putting up with so much.

We spent 10,000 and I felt it was too much to spend!! They keep
Talking 100,000 😮. This was fun thanks ladies!❤
I absolutely adore you two. This was so interesting. My attention span is crappy, but y’all had me sat for this whole video ❤
already predicting that this will be my top podcast of 2024 🥰
I bust out laughing when Kendall said mini corn dogs with the sushi😂

I’m so glad RUclips pushed this to me. I didn’t even know you two were starting a podcast. Fun. 🖤💕
Edit: just hit the bell and did all the things. 😊
I got a surprise wedding/engagement in Las Vegas during a family vacation. My husband even got my parents and his mother there when they weren’t initially part of the group going. Probably under $5k. Jordan and me have similar taste in food. Id love sushi, curry and alcohol with chocolate cake. sign me up! midnight deepfry is also gonna hit so well.
Youre right about the salad. Ayurveda says eat sweets first and bitter last
As someone who’s high school friend is getting married now and is already..acting up, this podcast couldn’t have come at a better time for me! 😂
I gotta feeling is the Black Eyed Peas song you're thinking of 52:25 !!! "[Refrain: will.i.am, Fergie]

I think the distinction between marriage and wedding is important. One is definitely more important to the other
I’ve heard that in Europe they do salads after dinner. ‘Cause yup. Pushes it thru!
My fiancé and I have always planned on only having a party and honeymoon/vacation and having a tiny “ceremony” even if you could call it that, with just us.
The Disney thing is SO REAL. My family member took their baby several years in a row. But…it’s a baby. They won’t remember!
I love how you don’t want a wedding but if you did have a wedding it would be the most extravagant, insane thing 😅 awesome
Lol--Yep!
saaaamee!!! i was a bridesmaid at my friends wedding and it made me want a wedding so badly even though i’ve ALWAYS wanted to elope and like who am i gonna invite anyways 😂
Loved the first episode! HATE the fact that there’s no back catalogue for me to go binge 😢 guess I’ll be back every week ❤
Hello from Australia 🐨🇦🇺. Been waiting to hear, this podcast. Can't wait to hear more from you both. Love the podcast, love you both 😍💕
I can't get over the 5 different black eyed pea songs mentioned dbsjwghdgwhd. Granted, idk which one they meant either! So excited for this new pod though!!!!!
They meant I Gotta Feeling.
Omg can’t wait to see where this pod goes!! Subscribed already ❤
I hate weddings, i don’t like crowds and the small talk is usually painfully bad. The last two i was invited to i skipped out before the cake was served. Love that y’all love them tho
You two are adorable.
The song is “Brick” by Ben Folds (five?) and that is exactly what it’s about. But it’s a GORGEOUS song ❤
Really enjoyed this episode! Kendahl blends in with the background and the tiny photo partially cut off by her head is so distracting. When we get the zoom out, her background is adorbs! I have such a love hate with split screen.
I really enjoyed this episode! Can’t wait for more!
It's one of the most stressful things I've done. Use the money for a great trip or something for your life together.
Kendahl's weeks of therapy beacuse of a candid photo is so relatable.😭
so excited!! i’ve been waiting for this!
wow this is so nice and chill to just sit and listen. both of your voices are also so nice to hear 🥰🥰
Jordan saying they went to jazz clubs as a kid doesn’t surprise me one bit but it is hilarious
“Customized menu” 😂😂😂
Um, maybe it's the European in me, but like.... you know you can have a small wedding, right? My sister had a small wedding, only immediate family were there. It was still probably expensive, but not excessively.
loving this so far!!
I know you from your other podcast and Jordan from Mythical, so seeing you together is amazing
You guys should do a divorce episode with Sarah Schauer
second this lol
Okay, you basically just described my lesbian wedding...it's like you were there in 2012...lol!
I've been waiting for this, since I found out they were together❤
I think I've only been to christian weddings where either the parents throwing the wedding were aggressively religious or the bride was and I've never seen anyone but the groom take a garter off the bride. I cannot imagine some rando man doing that.

Weddings are for sure a scam, but do you think legal marriage is a scam? Very different questions.

I love you guys!!

We divorced and remarried a few years later and did that at the courthouse with only a judge.
This is what I needed thank you

NO WIFE , HAPPY LIFE.
does the 70% divorce rate in lesbian marriages worry you? cuz the 50% divorce rates in straight marriages is enough to deter me
Lesbian divorce rate is 34%. Statistics showed that the divorce rate in gay couples is substantially lower than in straight couples. Not sure where you got your statistic cause that’s trash.
