- Oh hi there. Today, we discuss Transmission Control Unit tunes, and what their purpose is. Do they affect everyday drivability? Do they help performance? And what do they mean for the longevity of your transmission? We test out Unitronic's Stage 2 DSG TCU Tune, on this C7.5 Audi S6, with a couple arbitrary 0-60 tests, and driveability tests! Next up, 1/4 mile tests.

I’ll have to look into them! But yes, very satisfied with Unitronic. Awesome quality products and customer support. The shifts are so much quicker with the tune.

Is it stock with jus tcu tune?
I got a PCM tune for my old 2000 GTP (old car so this tune also reprogrammed the transmission). It was by far the best mod I put in that thing. The place I went through dialed it in perfect to match my other mods. Like you said, a well programmed tune is not only great for performance but can also improve longevity of the drivetrain. The slushbox 4T65e-HD in the GTP was notorious for going out, but mine shifted perfect (way better than stock) until I had to get rid of it with 180k miles and it never gave me trouble. Are these detectable through the dealer I just bought a Audi s6 and I been down that road with getting my warrantee voided out through Subaru before with my old sti 😔

Sorry I just noticed this! Glad you enjoyed the video. I have a full review of the S6 that I did last year that goes deeper into my impressions. But so far, the car only has about 12,000 miles on it so we haven’t experienced any reliability issues. There’s a couple good videos out there that go more in depth about the S6 reliability though.
Does tuning the transmission damage it in the long run
No, it should help extend its longevity by decreasing shift speeds and minimizing clutch slip

So what was the initial 0-60 time and the 0-60 after the tune?
3.46 before and 3.71 after, but only because of the wheel slip during the second and third runs

Would a TCU tune speed up the manual upshift on my RS3??? Currently takes its sweeeet time.
Ohhh yeah it would. I’m sure it would make a massive difference.

It’s completely stock besides the 93 octane Unitronic tune. No bolt-ons yet. Definitely look into the he tunes for the S4! Is it a B8?

@@NotSoHandyCarGuy not sure if it’s compatible for my S4 yet. I went on the website and it only goes up to 2020. I have a 2021.
@@tommygunnz130 ah ok. You should check out the @Drivenbyboost channel. He’s got a B9, running a Uni tune. I’m not sure if his is a ‘20 or ‘21 though. I’m sure if you reach out, Unitronic will answer all the questions you have
