Nancy, like you, I knit because I like color and love to put colors together. I also like “the chase”,” the challenge of knitting a garment to wear, figuring out a pattern or just seeing everything evolve. Also we have something to show for our hard work and pleasure. Knitters are never bored because we always have something on our needles. We express our talents and joy through our craft
Hi Nancy, Thanks again for another enjoyable and inspiring episode. Nice kits for the emotional support chickens. I like the name "Henrietta Chickadee". 🐔 Knitting has always brought me such joy .. Selecting a pattern, the right yarn ,color, and taking the time to knit warms my heart ! Knitting is relaxing to me! Love giving knitted gifts for the special people in my life! Keep cool. Happy Knitting 🧶!
I think Henrietta is a lovely name for the chicken. I knit to keep my hands busy when watching tv. I love to make clothes, both for the family and especially as gifts for babies, there's nothing like a hand knit for a new little one. Having said that, I have the chicken pattern waiting to be done and now have 'smookie' on my list to do.
Love to knit.....to create something from long pieces of wool. I dye too, so raw yarn...selecting the yarn type and gauge for the chosen pattern that takes my fancy...either myself or adult males - sons/husband, then the FUN of colour choice for that person....knowing their favourite colours and items....dyeing up usually a sweater quantity.....pure joy and creativity ha.....Sizing the garment SO important for the final product.....making sure of the recipients measurements; looking at ease of garment and style that person enjoys with fit. Swatching - Yep, just do it, and well ha....and enjoy the fabric created as if not, something has to change. sitting and knitting....the journey...ah, every twist and turn of the walk through the creation, with joys and discoveries along the way. Places to sit and enjoy the view, with a beverage....time to reflect on the process. AHHHH delight. Then slog through the body, with joy at the ribbing and cast off. Sleeves - exciting at first to perhaps first third, then the island stranding, with rescue by the cuff and bind off.....oh but ANOTHER ONE! pure dedication at this point....onward. Ends to weave in - actually a joy if one changes ones mindset. this IS our craft - still handling woollen yarn and doing a great job. SO important the finishing touches - the bits to feel proud about. THE WASH yeah yeah yeah, then block. Hopefully dries quickly. Then the wearing....so happy......forgot, on second sleeve, already planned out the next project - keen to get on with it. THIS is why I knit. ALL of the above, each and every delicious step of the process. And of course, the gifting to a loved one - their appreciation and use of the item - because we only knit for the knit worthy amongst us 🥰😝 Thanks Nancy 💛
I knit because it relaxes me and the finished product like a sweater makes me happy to wear and tell people when they give compliments that I made it, So much pretty yarn and patterns to chose from, Love your podcast,
Knitting is my creative outlet. From selecting the color way, yarn and pattern to customizing and finishing, each project satisfies my passion to create.
I like the process of knitting, relaxing, the variety of colours and patterns, making handmade gifts and wearing original unique clothes. How about Henny Penny for the chicken name?
I knit because it keeps me calm. I've been in sock mode for years now! I knit wherever I go...especially when waiting for appointments or friends. I even knit at darts! Whole lotta sitting around at darts! MOSTLY....I knit because I hear my grandma's voice in my head saying "The devil makes work for idle hands" when I'm "just sitting"! I'm 74! Lol!
Thank you for another fun podcast. I like seeing what's new in your queue and in the store as well. I think Addi is the name for the chicken. ( Short for Adderall). ..or Addi turbos. I like to knit for many reasons. The top reason I knit is because I like having something to look forward to everyday. No matter what else is going on in my world, knitting is my constant comfort.
I love to knit because of the feel of yarn in my hands, the repetitive motion of course. And when you’re done, it’s still nice and squishy. If I were naming your chicken I might pick Dr Pecker, or Princess Lay-a. I plan on making one just haven’t gotten to it yet.

I like Gladys for the name of the chicken. 🙂

I think you should name the chicken Purl Fowler! 😊
