the bypass is just a start, if you keep eating like that after the surgery your stomach will get bigger again, so most of his weight loss now is becouse he control himself and not for other reasons, and i dont know where you get your info but if you eat after a bypass it doesnt hurt, you just feel full with less food

3) If an obese person has children, they generally force these eating habits on their children. Health issues as a child, early death, etc.
4) They cost the health care systems billions. Over £50bn/year in the UK, over $200bn/year in the US, etc.
Trillions around the world is spent on obesity, which is 100% preventable and the choice of the person. This is trillions which could be spent to save other people who have problems they can't help, or to help solve world hunger, etc.
5) They are less efficient on average at work, and require more days off. This affects everyone at a business, and in turn affects the entire economy.
So, there are 5 different examples straight away. Try and disprove any of it if you dare.

Boogie seems awesome. I have no problem with his appearance from being so big, but I wish he'd lose the weight for health reasons. So many people are having heart attacks in their early 40s these days, he doesn't need that at all.

What I said is you don't know anything about boogie, and by the things you're saying that appears to be true. Losing weight is not as easy as you are making out to be especially when you get to be boogie's size. You don't seem to know even half of the health problems that boogie has. Exercising is already hard enough when you are fat but combine that with all of boogie's health problems and mental health problems, then it is an extremely hard task. Also if you knew anything about boogie, you would know that he already is trying to lose weight, so again don't talk shit about someone when you don't know anything about them.

Lets say you have a rare condition or you know what its like to have that condition, you can share that knowledge with the world and make people informed about it and destroy prejudices about it.
There are far to many people who think people with condition are worth less than them and that they cant contribute to the world.

I like Boogie well enough, but I can't consider him a role model in the least bit. He's been constantly encouraged by fans and other entertainers to lose the weight, but after years and years, I just see that he wallows in his own pity.
Yeah he had a bad upbringing, but at this point in his life he has to biggest support system he will ever have or that any of us could dream of having, and I'm somehow supposed to believe that Boogie just can't lose weight still?
i thought that because he is so large, its much harder for him to lose weight. I believe he is losing weight (in this video he says from 42.5 -> 37.5) , however its so slow that any changes are too small to notice. The fact that he says he cant stand for more than 15 minutes means that it is incredibly difficult to do anything to start losing weight in the first place.
Nah. I'm a pretty big guy (not nearly as big as Boogie, though) and I've lost 55 pounds since January by just eating between 1,500 and 2,000 calories a day. The larger you are, the easier it is to lose it - each pound I lose slows down the rate I lose it at even more.
He's not sugarcoating obesity, quite the opposite. I think it's a bit unfair to say that he doesn't make a good role model for his one shortcoming. Unless he's actually trying to be a health or fitness guru.
Seems to me his relationship with food is kind of like an alcoholic's relationship with booze though. Maybe he'd benefit from a similar intervention?
That he's failing doesn't mean he hasn't been trying and isn't struggling though, I think we should give him atleast the benefit of the doubt although I know we'd all love to see him succeed.

For him, its easy for people say to lose some weight. He grew up being horribly abused, that mental abuse will never go away, food is his coping mechanism, his safety net from what his parents put him through. Imagine yourself in his shoes, being a child and all that you know is being beat, punched, cut, stabbed, burned with cigarettes, bottles broken over your head, verbal abuse. Growing up with drunks.. I watch boogie from time to time, but it seems he's surrounded by a troup of enablers. A lot of people are overweight, but if it gets to the point where you are constantly on the edge of death you'd think that would cut through any mental/emotional issues you have...especially after getting married. I know alot of people have something against fat people. Which is ridiculously hypocritical. You don't go around insulting people because of their size, weight and looks. I'd like to see how feelings of emotion would spur up inside you if you were one of them out there. Some of my friends are fat and i hate that so I encourage them to go to the gym. Even when I make fun of fat people it's only because they are my friends and they are no strangers, we laugh along and talk shit... But I do not go around insulting fat people and calling them pigs, cows or slobs.. The difference is there. All I know is anyone who has lack of consideration for others well being has lack of maturity and has yet to experience any real disadvantages compared to others. Think through your mind before uttering bullshit at others. Boogie is a good example of someone who wants to stop but just cannot and absolutely regrets every decision along the path of mistakes. So now since he's tasted it and he realises he needs to stop others from making the same mistake like he did.
