I remember this coming out and really being thrown for a loop as to what the music was gonna sound like for this game. Having now played the game, I have a way better idea of it's direction. I definitely wanted to go further with it and make it super energized and even give it some UK Hardstyle vibes, but the song was so busy. I was honestly worried about arranging it because of how repetitive it is, but I think it definitely landed somewhere cool.
There are layers upon layers here to really just crush you, I wanted the song to be as in your face as possible so there's a bit more distortion and a lot more instruments/synths/strings/etc than I'd normally do. I definitely had a harder time mixing it because of that. This song is heavily requested so I hope you guys enjoy what I did with it! I didn't have much time to throw it together since it was my first cover coming back from NAMM (which was great!)

This was a lot of fun but quite a challenge with the original melody lines of the game. I was afraid it might sound weird since it was originally essentially an electro rave feel, but I like how it turned out! Hope you enjoy it too!

@@FamilyJules7X If there was one part of this song I wanted to see you do, it was definitely the Megamaxing segment. The sound of the crowd cheering with the song is the most impactful part, especially when you're listening to it through headphones and it really starts to fill your ears. Needless to say, you did it justice, 100%.
Electro rave actually translates very well to metal, it just needs some tweaks sometimes. Sometimes not even that.

Pokemon gym theme genre over the years :
gen 1, 2 and 3 - more or less like basic music
Gen 4 - started to get more varied, more developed
Gen 5 and 6 - personallity is clearly implemented in each gym ( gen 5 be better tho)
gen 7- getting more funky
Gen 8 - R A V E
I literally squealed with joy when I heard the chanting section, so many covers just haven’t included it for some reason!
I personally found the chanting to be really annoying.. The first part of the theme is dope, the middle part is great too, but at the end of it when the crowd start to sing the theme it just gets annoying.

Nothing is more hype about the gym battles than the crowd just hyping the whole thing up and having the time of their lives.

This is easily the best cover of the tune I've heard. Your willingness to use synths and get creative with the arrangement really took it to the next level. And let's face it: cover or not this theme is not the same without those cheers. I can practically imagine you in the stadium playing this over the battle.

I have heard versions by other people, but this one certainly has a depth of character.
My favorite in the entire game - I actually loved the gym battles and hearing the crowd cheering us on.
I always thought the crowd, seeing the gym leader down to their last and best pokemon, is cheering the gym leader on. Hometown hero style. You're just some kid from out of town.

This is by far my favorite gym leader battle theme. The music feels energetic like you know that you are about to get into a serious battle, the final part when down to the last Pokémon is the highlight when it’s all or nothing with the crowd cheering. Definitely the best gym leader theme with X/Y being an honorable mention
When I first heard this in-game, I was 50/50 on it. Thanks to FamilyJules it's now my literal favourite BGM for any Pokémon game.

I never heard this cover until last night when attending Thrown Controllers at the Hard Rock Cafe last night but it’s definitely going to be one that gets stuck in my head. It was an excellent performance and I really enjoyed how you had the audience cheer along! It was a blast!

He remixed this one into an electric one after all. it slightly lost the "soccer kick" at the reff the original was famous for, but he compensated with side noises which saves it pretty well. And yes, that cover of the cheers is also perfect. Thanks!
