- What a surprise 😲 Henk Poort joined Nightwish to perform The Phantom Of The Opera. Nightwish played this song for the first time since 2005. The whole show was absolutely mindblowing and the best part: It was officially recorded for an upcoming DVD release!

@@tsraikage Floor Jansen made an agreement with Henk Poort, after singing their duet Phantom of the Opera, to join eachothers concert. Floor started this last year with joining him. Now he returns the favor
@@fixxa6455 Not entirely so. The real story is: Floor and Henk were both on the TV show ‘Beste Zangers’ where Floor wanted to sing the Phantom with Henk, who she admired. Henk responded: o.k., but under one condition: we sing the song again but then together with Nightwish when you and your band come to the Netherlands. And she agreed. The shows were postponed several times due to the pandemic but after three years of delay the promise has finally been fulfilled!
The MOMENT we've all awaited- AND to have it happen in front of a "home" audience! The last note- 12 seconds in a head voice!
Musical magic & magnificence. At the start of the show, Floor announced that they'd film it all. We already had our hopes up high, but as soon as she said that, we knew that she'd brought Henk for the ride. And what a ride it was. The whole concert was absolutely fantastic and their Phantom the grand cherry on the cake. Unforgettable show, still can't believe we were there! That DVD is gonna kick @ss!🤘
You know, I was just thinking that if any show of the tour gets released on Blu-ray, it'd be this one. Good to know I'm probably right lol
So awfully lucky to be there. What a show. And let's not forget that other favorite they snuck in the setlist. 7 Days to the Wolves, as soon as I heard the first measures, it was like ohhh yesss let's go 🤘🏽😍❤️
@@littleraven28 When they started "7 Days" we went absolutely 🍌🍌What a brave & bold move to bring this one back w/ Marko. Screamed the Marko parts so loud that my voice is completely gone now (screaming "Henkie! Henkie! on top of my lungs also contributed hehe). And how abt Jukka doing a little dance with "I Want My Tears Back"? What a blast it was. Cheers!

I love the loud reaction to Henk coming on stage. And he's wearing Nightwish shirt! I bet only the Dutch fans get to see this bonus on this tour.
The promise was kept :D So cool to see Nightwish performing this one again.
Fantastic to see Floor perform again after surgery. She is already at top level of performance. She will only get better when she has full health and condition back. And Henk was awesome too ofcourse, just as the band is.

For the one who didn't know, before signing the phantom of the opera with Floor in Beste Zagners 2019, Henk asked if he can one day sing it with Nightwish and she answer yes. And than the pandemic happens, and Floor had her own concert with him and it was then unclear if it will someday happened. It is clear that they developped a good friend relation since the tv show and outside stage. So it finally happend, and at Amsterdam. What a wonderfull moment for both of them. Ans I'm sure all the Nightwish band members know about their freindship, and also that Amsterdam simply love Henk for decades, who is know for his performance at the dutch version of The phantom of the Opera.
And for the one who didn't watch the Beste Zagner 2019, give it a try. Floor was simply fantastic through out the show and you can see their friendship bord and grow. It was simply amasing to watch each other watching the performance of the other. My only regret was that the full duet episodes are not available. If they are, please put a link because I only find the duet alone, but not in the full contexte of the show.

Yeah, too bad she didn't hit a higher note at the end (but "hey not everyone can be Sarah Brightman" after all).

Here, you can se how Tuomas actually conducts the band.
Apart from Henk and Floor they were all close to him, playing very carefully, they did not had a lot of rehearsals and still performed the instrumental arregment exactly as in the End of an Era Show.
Also, of the band up there (aside from Floor and Henk), only Tuomas and Emppu had actually played this live before at all. Kai, Jukka K and Troy all joined after they stopped playing it. So, they did wqell for "we've rehearsed this a few tines, but thats about it."

Once you learn a song and perform it one way, you rarely forget it. They don’t need too much rehearsals.
@@LuisRdzG10 Oh, not at all, once you learn a song, you still have to rehearse it A LOT to improve it. That's why Nemo has been going different through all these years.
@@geelicon not by any means, professional musicians like the ones in Nightwish can easily nail a song like this. They don't need a lot of rehearsels to pull this off.

I thought I would never hear this song again in a NW concert. Floor kept her word. OMG! I miss Marko's grittier vocals but this is epic!

@@abstracting6411 Henk sucks. He is not a metal singer, and should have passed on this performance. They could have gotten ANY good metal singer to perform this with them, and they chose someone who is not. Hell, they could have asked Marco. Henk also didn't bother to learn the lyrics correctly. Guess without the "cheat sheet" he had previously, he is doomed to failure.
@@michaelvedal1907 Henk didn't HAVE to "learn the lyrics correctly." He WAS the Phantom for two years in the Dutch national production of the musical. Henk Poort is a musical theatre legend- that's the POINT- He IS The Phantom. They're singing Nightwish's (Tuomas's) arrangement of the song, which is slightly different than the stage version and the one he and Floor have done previously.

Fact remains the same. For that Dutch national prod he was probably fine, but with Nightwish, not so much.

Awesome upload. Loved it! I am sure Floor wishes she was fully recovered for this experience. She sounded wonderful, but looked quite fatigued. Rightly so, it takes some time to fully recover from surgery and she is soldiering on as excepted. Hang in there warrior queen. It's a long stretch of almost continuous shows before a 3 week Christmas break. Then off to a month in the far east. Send your energy to her every night. She will need it to make it through.
Yeah I agree, she clearly put everything into that vocal performance and in delivering the right lines and audience interaction for the live recording, and did not seem to have as much energy for the overall stage presence that she usually does. Which only shows what a great professional and dedicated performer she is, to be able and determined to do this so many nights in a row after such a short time for physical and mental recovery. All the love and admiration for her!

I missed this song so much, and I love Henks cleaner more classical approach with the metal sound accompanying it. I honestly would love to see what kind of interesting music they could come up with if they took Henk into the studio with them for the next album!

It was indeed a great performance. I just feel kinda bad for poor Henk, not used to such fast tempos, he was a little off in the beginning but he pulled through eheh.. Floor was perfect, as always!
Perhaps he was deafened by the crowd cheering for him. Tonight he'll get another chance.
I never heard a crowd yelling that loud, can imagine that must be a totally new experience for Henk :-)
It looked like she was nodding her head at one point to help keep him in time, and he responded in kind.
He seemed thrown off...I guess you would say trying to sing it straight? Whereas when they used to perform it live Marko altered the timing of the phrases quite a bit, and the music still follows that.
Yeah Henk was a bit off, but we love him no less! Second performance went a lot smoother. Let's hope that's the one they put on the dvd 😜

Nightwish is way better nowadays with Floor. I've been following their career from the beginning and I have to say NW is at their top right now. Even without Marco. I don't think they could have grown and renewed the same way with Tarja. Floor is the best thing that has happened to this band. She has a phenomenal voice and stage presence. She can do just about anything with her voice.

I agree! Some may not but let’s face it the Nightwish army has been growing fast in number since Floor joined. Tarya was good for Nightwish, Floor is good for Nightwish, it’s like comparing pears to apples, but Floor like the apple is more versatile.
I disagree, without Marko they are weaker....big time!
I've enjoyed Tarja and Annette: they each brought something different to the table. And now, Floor is a wonderful fit for Nightwish. I'm glad she stayed as I absolutely love her voice and charisma. Her stage presence, imo, is the best out of all their singers. I have followed Nightwish since the beginning too and followed Floor from her original band After Forever. I know we all have different thoughts/opinions about each vocalist, but I am just glad Floor took up the gauntlet, allowing Nightwish to continue bringing us amazing music. Marco was amazing and I miss his voice tremendously yet it doesn't mean they can't or won't be adding another vocalist in the future to accompany Floor. If they do, they'll have big shoes to fill but I'm sure they'll pick someone with just as much talent as Marco.
I hated Anette. In my opinion, Floor is not as operatic nor mystical as Tarja, but surpasses her in every other way❤

I cant believe I saw this live and in front row!! I was at the show on the 28th and it was incredible. I screamed so loud when Henk Poort came on stage! And how amazing that these are the shows that got recorded, I feel so incredibly lucky, I will never forget this
