- An El Paso County jury found Letecia Stauch guilty in the 2020 killing of her 11-year-old stepson Gannon Stauch.
She was found guilty on all of the following counts:
First-degree murder - after deliberation
First-degree murder - victim under 12 position of trust
Tampering with a deceased human body
Tampering with physical evidence - destroy

She's going to have a tough time in general population. Everyone knows that child killers are at the bottom of the food chain.
Taken this child from her husband was the ultimate sacrifice to show control. This woman didn’t snapped, her jealousy and anger towards her husband was built day by day. She may not showed it with actions but I can guarantee that she was abusing Gannon mentally and verbally way before she took his life. Her insecurities were very obvious not only when she expected her husband to believe her and take her side but when she declared her innocence on TV and to the police. Her ego had her believe that she was going to be declare innocent. Somehow she was going to have the perfect relationship after the lies and deceptions. I applaud the parents and pray for strength and peace in the mist of this storm. Let us remember Gannon for the beautiful soul he was and celebrate his life however short it was. ❤🙏

I personally live with mental illness, specifically Borderline Personality Disorder. I am NOTHING like this Leticia person. Yes, her pretending to have mental illness has done a disservice to all who struggle with mental illness. Thank you for the acknowledgement, Judge.

Yes and even if she did experience abuse as a child, so many of us have and don’t go on to be become murderers! That’s no excuse to harm another
I have both personal and professional experience on many types of mental illnesses and insanity cases. I believe she is definitely mentally defective, and she may have lost control. However, that is no excuse for murder and the only way to keep children/people safe from her is to lock her up for the rest of her life or death sentence.
The worst part about this case was watching Gannon’s father go on the witness stand and testify about all the manipulation and lies Letecia was guilty of in the past, yet he STILL left his children alone with her for days.
Did you watch zav girl. Her classmate was on there. In school everyone believed she had multiple personalities. Al who has college credits in psychology and his mother who is in the field of psychology talked many times about her mental state. Even in the days before this happened. Leticia is mentally ill. No two people will have the exact same symptoms or reactions from abuse. That Lumbee Indian community is known for violent men. If she was abused like her brother who was given so much alcohol at age three he is damaged today. Then we have a good picture of what those men did to a little girl.

This Judge was wonderful to watch! His speech was so on point and I felt that he was trying to hold back tears! She gives new meaning to "the mean stepmom"! Not all stepmom's are mean, but she is pure evil. She sat there still not caring! No feelings whatsoever! Narcissist
To those who felt that the jury was taking too long and thought the worst, please see now that even with mountains of evidence, juries must be thorough. They must go over all of the evidence. Every vote must be challenged, no matter whether yea or nay, and reasons (based on evidence) given for that vote, to ensure their understanding of facts.
This case had voluminous evidence. Even if all of the jurors had voted guilty or all had voted guiltywhile insane during the initial poll, they still would have had to go through all of their notes and duscussed all of the evidence prior to a final vote. Any less would have been favorable to defendant's appeal.
Judge and jury in this case were exceptional.

The guilt and sadness of Gannon's father for leaving him with that evil stepmom, will never leave him. She ruined so many lives - took Gannon's life away, traumatized his siblings, left his mother and father agonized over his loss, full of regrets, and guilt. And she ruined her own life too with this malicious act. What a petty, deformed soul.
Listening to Gannon's father, it broke my heart when he sobbed for his son, unable to protect him. Such a broken man. Gannon's mother too, so broken in her loss of her beautiful boy.
This good judge restored some of that dignity and respect back to Gannon and his family. His words were very healing. I feel so broken myself, and cannot imagine the fresh wounds on his parents. I hope they find peace.
