Paul I love how you guys take the time to fix things instead of leaving them in the trash. This is a perfect example of a little time and you can save things instead of just throwing them away
You should see if Harbor Freight will send you a 1000lb Dirt Bike Stand (sku 67151). It would probably hold up whatever dirt bike didn't have a kickstand and Dar could prop his feet on it for naps!
Back in the early 70’s I had a Honda mini trail 50 i abused till the gearbox blew so my older brother “aquired” a Kawasaki 175 dirt bike motor and we made a suicide machine that would wheel stand without popping the clutch! Top speed was about 60 mph because the front tire would float at that speed! We still have the bike but it needs brakes.
Fun watching you guys build stuff. When you put those larger forks on the 50’s I’ve found you need to slide the forks up in the triple clamps 2-3” to get the front end back down. Otherwise it’ll be choppered out and ride rear heavy. You can slide them up until they almost hit the handlebars or until the edge of the flat portion of the forks (before the taper).

Paul… I can’t even keep my lawn and garden equipment running and you make, build, fabricate, vehicles from the parts out on the back 40 and the landfill. You’re an inspiration.
That's Fab Rat's way of upgrading a boy toy & child development, that little bike will be a ripper for Graden I wanna see Paul, Ben, Landon & Jace rip it too, great video thank's for sharing God bless ❤😉👍
As many times as things go missing a sifting screen seems like a legitimate project. A magnetic component seems totally legit as well. Lets see what they come up with. Your suggestion is of significant directional value.
I've found shining a flashlight horizontally along the floor will show shadows of everything lying on the floor. Then you only need to look for the shadow.
@@sausages6135 There are over 50 types of stainless steel and more than half of those are magnetic. So, the probability of a stainless steel part being recovered using a magnet are better than 50/50.

Time spent with your dad/kids is precious. Teaching them valuable trades they'll be able to use all of their lives is priceless. Memories are made of this. Great parents and great kids. ❤️Stay safe and GOD bless
You never know what is going to come thru the door next and most of the time Paul has to make whatever it is go faster. It's cool you saved it from the dump to start with.
Paul reminds me so much of my father he was always cutting up my old dirt bikes and welding them back to together...He took three old bikes one time and made on really nice bike out of it one time and put an old Yamaha 490 motor in it my son still rides to this day.
I use to make good money on push mowers people tossed out I would collect all the push mowers on trash days and fix them up and toss them in my font yard with a 50 buck price tag and people would buy them up like crazy and I would make good money off of them
I can't wait to see it rip around. I'm from Michigan you guys give me so many good idea's. I was a tool and die machinist for 25 years and can't wait to start working on my yj. Thank you for be awesome people.. Love ya guys.. Don Baumann
I recently picked up a non running XR 50 for my grand daughter... It's been a fun project we've been working on together. As soon as the weather breaks, I'll have her out on it... once she out grows it, I foresee and 125 fab rat style swap...
Awesome, I'm working on quads and have a 125cc quad that I will need to get a new engine for. Glad to see the Amazon 125cc works out, need to order and film it all once I have time.
Hello Fab Rats, It never gets old and always fun to watching you have fun or work, and that is a perfect place! Hope you, your family, friends, and youtubers are well and enjoying life! Take care, be safe, and peace out!!
Sitting on the bike just now, you were sitting directly on the exhaust muffler / silencer, it would give you a really hot ride regardless of the increased horse power !
Congrats on your Wrecker Games!! Got a sneak peak from a few other folks, but still looking forward to the official release from all the participants!! Another great day in the shop working with your boys on another little project. BTW, do they use much of their skillz they have learned by observation off camera? We see them occasionally using a few different little things here and there, but would really enjoy seeing them wrench a bit more on their own as well when able. As always, thanks to the entire FabRats team for keeping this channel going!
LOL, that was a fun one. I kinda thought you were going to make a seat riser, to lift the seat a little higher, since you said you were gonna ride it. Thank you for taking us along
Regarding the GoPro sound issues: do you guys regularly format the SD cards from the camera itself? For some reason this is kind of a requirement for GoPro's or else they tend to get corrupted files. I format mine almost every time I go out shooting and I have never had an issue since. When I first got my GoPro I was having issues with videos having no sound or glitchy video. Formatting my SD card on a regular basis completely solved my issues. Just make sure you do it from the camera not on a computer! For some reason it really does matter. Good luck guys. LOVE your videos!
I have a shed full of crf50 stuff I've been collecting for years we're really into these and building them there used to be tons of company's making high quality parts for these and frame kits and stuff. You can still get engine parts and stuff my latest builds are a couple matching billetware framed bikes with 124cc dohc kitaco motors with takegawa 4 speeds and takegawa manual clutches.
Great find Rats. So cool to see. Hopefully you enjoy it for many years to come Rats. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Michelle, Bikes and beards had some kind of bubble motorcycle , it was hilarious. I think it was an edit but their faces didn’t let on. A ton of comments came in too. Will you please pull some shananigans like that sometime? Title “ I Bought the MOST Expensive V Twin Motorcycle on Amazon” Thank you, Kenny
You didn't just make a dirt bike. You made a memory. Good Job! Looking forward to the videos on the Wrecker Rally. I had a standing rule in my gun shop. If it goes sproing and hits the floor I did not even look for it. Just started making another part to replace the lost sprIng/screw/clip whatever. Later years I got a magnetic nail sweeper like the roofers use. It did help a bit.
Paul Tuttle? 🤣 This project reminds me of my grandfather's hammer. He used to tell me, "I had this same hammer since I was 10 years old. Of course I've replaced the handle three times and the head twice but it's the same hammer!". 😆
Paul I love how you guys take the time to fix things instead of leaving them in the trash. This is a perfect example of a little time and you can save things instead of just throwing them away

Trash to treasure dirt bike build-off with @DIRTBIKEFAB would be cool. I think it needs a 500! Lol.
Some folks just don't know how to fix anything.........then there's guys like Paul & Ben, who can fix EVERYthing! Well done!

I wanted a 50 around 1975 when the Honda Odyssey came to Colorado
But I never got into motoring

Totally agree. I hope Paul reads your comment. That will strengthen that area too.
I 100% agree. Been there done that. Also going to want to change the oil in the engine and the forks. The oil China puts in them is junk
Totally was thinking the same thing. That head tube angle is pretty wild to look at when the rear suspension is compressed.
This or something is cracked
That's cool. We can't wait to see it rippin' around with a happy kid on it. 👍
Drop those front forks up that triple clamp about 2" or so
It's all fun and games until someone loses a retainer clip. Have a better week and God bless amen.

Another great father/son bonding moment. Absolutely priceless.
Shoutout to everyone that makes these videos so great! Love the Cox family + the others !
Kids have outgrown it so time to upgrade it for dad use. Love it!!!
Wow, turning trash to treasures, Paul does amazing things.
Great watching a project with the boys. Nothing better then a dad that knows how to engage the kids with their stuff sometimes.
well engage 1 kid anyways.
You might want to choke the forks up more in the triples to get the bike more level under load since it seems like the forks are a lot taller.
Good morning everybody and thumbs UP to Fab Rats! 👍🐀🐀🐀👀

Watching you upgrade the bike reminds me of my Daddy. He turned one of our old bicycles into a moped. Looks good for a landfill find.
Awesome father & son project Paul , Thxs for sharing 💛
Paul you need to get yourself a magnetic floor sweeper! Brilliant for those tiny get aways that seam to teleport from one spot to another.
some of them parts are brass and aluminum but over all the floor sweeper would be a good idea

Yeah, stainless ain't getting picked up by no magnet either.

Sounds like you guys should look into DJI action 3 camera ?
DAD of the Year! I cannot imagine how kewl it is for these boys to be custom mobile.
You really are a craftsman Paul. Your kids will be craftsman also (including Gracie I hope).
Finally an example of build it back better actually working.
That's a nice basic Fab Rat fabrication!

Contact DJI and get them to send you some cameras that will blow the go pros out of the water.
It’s amazing the things people throw away

@@79tazman I can definitely believe that. I made money by fixing my friends vehicles while in high school. Only certain friends got it done for free 😂
I buy tools and parts at the scrap yards. It's rather amazing and amusing there, too.
Abortion is people throwing away new life
I used to drive a frontloader at a transfer station.
It was truly sickening.
Makes me miss working with my dad. Love what u do with your kids
It is amasing what people throw away! Good job boys !
Cool. Congrats on the games. REALLY looking forward to the official release. You did FabRats proud and made it home safe!!!
Gradon goes from a small bike to a bigger one using the same frame! That is what you call recycling!
Man what a cliff hanger! I can't believe you didn't fire this thing up and test ride it in this video! You got me all excited and left me hanging 😂
Those needle valve clips enter another dimension when they go missing!

What a fantastic build!! MASTER MECHANIC 👨🔧 PAUL!!!! This is 1 more reason that I subscribed, To this channel!!!!
Those forks are way too long so be careful. You'll snap the head tube off the frame because of the slack angle. Ask me how I know.

Pretty awesome build Paul, the money saved and the satisfaction of being able to do it for your family is priceless!
Hey Paul.
Just drop your forks in the triple clamps.
You’ll drop the front end about 2 inches.
The front won’t be sooo racked out.
Genuinely, Jim
Poor old Ben I hope he is well after the ride he had last week. He took a good one on the jeep. I had to back that one a few times...lol
This is amazing, That went from just a regular dirt bike to something else!
Can't wait to see part two on this build .!!
Your fab skills always impress me Paul!

Post a video of finishing the bike please! My boys are excited to see the finished product
Building with the boys is always a good one 👍
That's a real Honda damn those maintain a grand value always
It can be fun re-assigning power plants like that.

Great to watch y’all work together on this bike. Time to let the boys take more of an active role and guide them in their own decisions.
I love the fact the boys are in there right next to you!
man, can't wait to see y'all's video of the wrecker games. I purposely didn't watch anyone else's coverage just to to see it from inside!
Your son is going to love riding that sweet bike.
Paul, I think that you are one of the best shade tree engineers West of the Mississippi River. The Utah STE's can really dream up some devices.
Awsome build Paul.....she's coming along great....thanks for sharing this with us

Ha, I love it... whenever you do a voiceover it sounds like an old 'Dukes Of Hazard' episode!
Vacuum the floor and the sift the contents thru a screen to find the clip. Saved my a** once doing that.
