This is helpful, thank you. I have always taken work shoes seriously. I am 10 years into my healthcare carreer, 12h shifts on my feet. Brooks are my favorite and as frugal as I am, I gladly spend the money every 6mos. Recently moved into a 2 story house with all hardwood & tile, whereas I was used to mostly carpet on only 1 level before. After 2 weeks of unpacking (not wearing shoes inside), I had awful foot and achilles pain; something I NEVER experienced! I am finding that even doing household chores throughout the day, my heels and achilles are angry by the time I settle in. Not sure why it never occurred to me to wear supportive shoes working inside the home!
I’m flabaghasted that podiatrists are recommending shoes with raised heels & toe boxes that squish our toes The best shoe for human feet are minimalist barefoot shoes, zero drop with a wide toe box The toes are supposed to be the widest part of our feet & splayed out but thanks to modern shoes with have squished together mangled up toes which is also bad for out health (foot & back conditions etc)
I put on my shoes when I wake up and don't take them off till I get ready for bed or I am at least in for the night. I don't have house shoes. I don't have issues with my feet wearing good quality shoes and socks. Going barefoot on the hard floors most of us now have isn't good.
Wish I could afford a closet full of shoes but I appreciate the info considering I turn 40 today and my feet have been killing me the last several months
Thanks for the tips, lately my feet have been hurting a lot especially the the sole area. Do you have any tips on how to give yourself a simple but effective foot massage? Maybe you could do a video on it, anyways thanks.
I tried those Olukais and they are so painful!! I wore my correct size, but the back of the unlined and very rigid collar hurt my Achilles tendon! Not to mention they're too tight to wear as a slip on. Olukai is a work in progress, for sure.
Birkenstocks Gizeh sandals, Nike Stabled high wedge heel runners with custom Orthopaedic insoles, if I have to walk somewhere and it’s good weather all over the world cowboy boots or my fryer, never wear crappy flimsy shoes no matter how much you spend for them or buy cheap crappy shoes… Always buy she’s excellent support matter what the hell you’re doing I read my book and socks or slippers what is Eva…

It’s crazy how important it is to wear the correct shoes & to take care of your feet (flexibility )
