- I will be trying on all 26 pairs of designer shoes/heels in my collection and doing a review sharing which ones are COMFORTABLE and which ones are not :). Also I have a MUST KNOW MONEY SAVING SOLE PROTECTION HACK that I use for ALL of my designer shoes (except boots)- it's Louboutin safe too and will save you a trip and $$$ at the cobbler! Great collection! I’m not a fan of mules & loafers but those look cute on you. I also have 2 pairs of Chanel slingbacks and they are worn almost daily. Thanks for the tip on sole protectors. I’ll save the $35 cobbler charge on my next new pair!

Hi Jane! Thank you so much for the tape tip! For years, I've struggled with what to do with very thin delicate soles. I find that a couple of millimeters of the sole protection that cobblers put is way too much for some pairs (I can definitely feel and despise the difference). I bought the tape and put it on my Chloe flats that were getting destroyed by the tiny rocks on the asphalt. It has made such a difference! The tape is significantly thinner than the cobblers work, it's impregnable, and stays on so well. I can't thank you enough! You saved my warm weather shoes from both the ground and cobblers :)

Haha I just wear a lot of leather/suede boots in the fall winter! Suede in non rainy weather or I spray it with waterproof spray. And Nordstrom sells blondo waterproof boots for rain :)
I had sole protectors but never thought of using eyebrow scissor, this is genius! I always fiddled to trace properly the sole before cutting out the sole protector but it was never satisfying as results. Great video!

Hey Jane, your videos are great and very informative! I love that show hack with the tape, but I wanted to ask if you used the tape on your oran sandals ? And is it easy to peel off and retape if I messed up? Thanks !
Hey Cassandra! Yup I use the tape on the Oran sandals :) it’s not too hard to peel off just make sure to pull slowly parallel to the surface instead of perpendicular! It changes the texture of the leather a bit but protects the soles a lot more than wearing it out as is since the leather soles absorbs water. Hope that helps!

The Louboutin booties are gorgeous but I think they’d be hard to wear.
I have never tried Stuart Weitzman boots, but I can never find boots with narrow enough calves, so I will have to check those out. I have trouble styling over the knee boots too - I prefer knee high or ankle booties.

@@janeshappyplace3687 I am surprised you bought them from ebay. Isn't it risky possibly buying fake brands? Maybe you should do a video on how to tell between real and fake Ferragamo (or other brands).
@@kevinso5578 Hey Kevin! Yeah eBay can be a bit sketchy 😕 I don’t usually buy off of eBay. This was a long time ago and the seller had good reviews and it came with the original box and it was so unique I couldn’t pass up on it. Luckily I have other ferragamos to compare to make sure it’s real. Haha that’s a great video idea :)
Hi Jane! great hack to protect the soles! Just a quick question, would the tape work on heels with a soft sole? eg. the Dior sling backs or Jimmy Choos? They have that suede sole and I don't want to ruin them further (I already kind of wrecked them by wearing them on grass oops! haha) also should I tape them up if they're already worn and dirty? Thanks xx
Hey Angela!! :) I’ve used the tape for Dior slingbacks and Hermes oasis sandals where they have more of a suede sole. Especially for those soles I find the damage to be a lot greater by not having a sole because it absorbs water and everything and gets gross really quickly. The tape is great for them, if you do remove them it will change the texture slightly but does not “ruin” the suede as I’ve removed the tape off of my Hermes oasis many times. I feel the risk is much greater by not having a sole than using the tape :). Regarding putting tape on dirty soles you can still do it if there’s only some discolouration or minor wear but if the surface is not smooth anymore and it’s really worn I’d get the soles changed at a cobbler and use the tape for newer shoes :). Hope that helps!

Have you ever used this 3M to Oran sandals (soles are uncoated leather)? do you think the 3M would give some stickiness to the soles when we remove these stickers? Thank you and happy weekend😊
Yes I have! It doesn’t make the soles sticky when removed, the leather texture changes a bit but still better than without the protection (esp if you walk in water or on stones/rocks etc) 🙂

Hello Jane! Is the sole protector non-slip? And does it ruin leather soles once I remove the tape? I’d also like to know how adhesive they are. :)
Hi!! It should make it more non slip than the original soles, and it shouldn’t ruin the leather! I’ve removed it and replaced it many times. Although for suede like soles it will flatten the texture but the shoe is still way better off with it than without since I’d imagine it would get worn and dirty/wet way faster :)

Thank you!! The dress is from self portrait :). I’ve removed the soles before and it’s been fine! It doesn’t damage the sole just flattens it a bit

DId you have any trouble breaking in your Chanel sling backs? I find them so comfortable but after the first wear I have really bad blisters on my pinky toes! :(
Oh no! I don’t find it really needs breaking in, I do wear these sock cover things I mentioned in my other video. Maybe the shoes are a bit small? :( try stretching them?

Size 8! Though I think it’s a bit tight so 8.5 might have been better

Would you recommend the 3M shower tape on dior dway slides as well? I tried this on my Valentino rockstud slides, and I peeled it off the next day because i wanted to redo them because it seemed a little uneven (without even wearing them yet) and it created a little bubble on the sole :(
When i say it created a bubble on the sole, like it messed up the sole. I still put the 3M but i know for sure now that when i peel it off to change it, it will peel the leather with it :(

Hmm.. i wonder if the dway slides have the same soles as the slingbacks. Either way I think you're right to put it either way because if I dont, it will get ruined anyway

Oh really, which Hermes sandals did you use it on? 😮 I put it on all my hermes shoes including the oasis and I actually just ripped it off right now and it’s been fine for me 🙈

Yeah the surface becomes more suede like I think because the tape changes the texture of the sole a bit but I don’t see anything coming off with the tape 🙂. I only rip off the tape (not perpendicularly but flush against the flat surface) when it gets really gross and I think the sole would be more damaged without the tape so I’m not too bothered by the texture change 😬. I hope nothing came off with the tape for you? When I saw your message I went to rip off my tape ASAP just to make sure I’m not telling people the wrong information haha 🙈
@@janeshappyplace3687 it came off with the tape. U was expecting a clean tape like your Loubutins after removing it but oh well... it does not rip the leather no, just the paint. But maybe my experience is a one-off. I have no idea what happened with mine.

I would never put tape on a pair of expensive high end boots. It will ruin their originality.
