I would love to see how you fitted the gable rafter ladder, I can't find a single video showing how to do this on blockwork. Do the rafters sit higher than the gable so that the ladders cross beams fit on top of the blocks or do you cut into the gable?

You shouldn't have a massive fascia with a warm deck if it's built properly. You just have to build the outer brickwork up to the top level of the roof joists & then you fascia is only the width of the warm deck.
You cut the joists to the back of the block work & bring the insulation up to the underside of the warm deck.

you could also rip down the end off the joists
you still end up with a fascia bigger than than normal, when the whole point is to keep it matching with existing. the client didn’t want it which i don’t mind which way i do probably less work doing warm roof as all the insulation needs cutting on a cold

@@IdealConstructionRyanWalden yeah with the new building regs it's definitely no fun cutting 150mm PIR in between all the joists.
We almost never do any cold decks anymore, but once In a while you have no choice.
I have started cutting the 150mm PIR on my saw saw doing a cut then flipping it over. No matter how good you are trying to cut 150mm square with a hand saw is painful.
