Shanty Boys - Alderon Tyran

- The Civil War Playlist now comes up to the Great Lakes! This song, "Shanty Boys" is based on a logging tune that became popular in the 1880's Logging boom in Michigan and Wisconsin. As a tune from the region's past, what better to fit as inspiration for the national pride of the Midwest? For those confused as to what a "Shanty Boy" is (especially if you come from a nautical background); Shanty Boys, or Shanties, were simply workmen. In lore, "The Shanties" were one of the three main Militias that made up the first Midwest Rebellion. For more lore, checkout the instrumental version linked in the pinned comment, and as always, Lyrics Below!
Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Come all ye jolly shanty boys, come listen to my song.
It’s all about the shanties and how they get along.
They are a jolly crew of boys, so merry and so fine
Who while away the winters a-livin’ among the pines.
[Verse 2]
From The Mississippi, To the mountains co’ered in Pine.
These are the lands that, our love it does enshrine.
So come on up ye merry men, before the break of day.
And join our jolly troop of rebels, in the woods away.
[Verse 3]
All we want, I think is clear, though a Fed won’t understand.
Is the freedom and the dignity of a Free Mid-Western Man.
For if we win, we’ll sure bring back the things that made us great.
For we used to be the Steel heartland of the Old United States
[Verse 4]
The Feds in Washington DC are tyrants through and through.
With guns and tanks and bombs they steal all from me and you.
Their laws and dictates only serve to make us bleed for them,
But enough’s enough, we’ve bled too much, so now we stand again.
[Verse 5]
Now Stand on up, and join the strike, we’ll bleed the feds all dry.
They’ll never strike our homes again nor the homes of our allies.
They need us more than we need them, we don’t need to comply,
With the quotas and the orders for the federal supply.
[Verse 6]
In the South the rebels face the federal machine.
While in the west they hold the line from desert to mountains green.
The rest of them they do supply with food and gasoline.
Such a web of allies, we do make a wild scene.
[Verse 7]
In Washington DC, the Tyrants think that we are dead.
They’re sure that the Great Lakes will never ever wish them dead.
But our first revolt, though we lost will surely keep us safe.
As the Feds now turn their backs to us and face the rebel states.
[Verse 8]
But now the word has reached our ears of Rebels in the North.
From Rochester, and Burlington, and Concord they come forth.
And now we have a fighting chance to save our lovely states.
Soon the Tyrants will be ovrethrown and we will set things straight!
[Verse 9]
So raise the banners once again, We stand as one to die.
They broke us once before but now we’d love to see them try.
We know now what they’ll do to us if we loose the bloody fight.
So never will we surrender, for today it’s do or die!
[Verse 10]
Come all ye jolly shanty boys, come listen to my song.
It’s all about the shanties and how we get along.
We are a jolly crew of boys, so merry and so fine
Who while away the winters a-livin’ among the pines.
This song is pretty experimental for the channel as some may notice that there is no guitar, and there are other instruments. That and I changed up the style of displaying text, seeing how vertical display of verses works better than line-by-line. Please do comment and let me know how y'all liked it so I know if I should keep these changes going forward.
As followers of the channel know I've been bouncing around the different regions of the US writing songs addressing each part of the country and writing at least one song for each. I've covered Dixie, the Rockies, the Northeast so far. I've even got a song in the playlist for the anarchists and communists. But that's definitely not all. I was originally going to post the last song of the Civil War Playlist (for this month) on the RUclipss, but after careful consideration of the RUclips Terms of Service, I'm making it a Patreon Exclusive. This last song is called "Iron Company" and is a song for the PMCs and Mercenary bands that pop up during the conflict. Fans of Dr. Ludwig and Karl Sternau *may* find the melody familiar too. If you're interested in hearing the new tune, check out the Patreon:

And, if you're curious about the lore for the song, it's explained *more* indepth in the Instrumental version which can be found here:

I like
Alderon Tyran
you should do the battle cry of freedom for the second us civil war
For Texas you could do Yellow Rose of Texas or Balled of the Alamo or both.
I'm from PA and I know that the song isn't really meant for that state but I still love this song and sing it with my friends
I’m pretty sure western Pennsylvania falls under the “steel heartland of the old United States”
I'm from Vermont I agree
Same, I'm from Maryland even though Baltimore is a disgusting city, I agree
I'm from Pennsylvania. Things are getting bad here.
Everyone Gangsta until the North leaves the Union.

As a once was Michigander for my first 21 years of life- I moved to Oregon this year and worked as a welder, this makes my heart swell for my home. I love singing shanties as well with the good fellows as we hunt and camp in the mountains out here. Thank you for your wonderful songs!
Fellow former Michigander... The leadership back home makes me sick.
Fellow metal worker, look up the book 'expedient homemade firearms' and try and make yourself a Luty SMG.
@@mosin_boi Very fair, I have already looked at that book
I'm an Ohioan and even I would put aside the Michigan feud if it came down to it. Won't lie would be based as hell to see this actually happen i.e the Midwest being the firsts . Ethire way we are in strange times so would sound about right Ohio and Michigan being part of the start
Detroit born, left Long ago, my heart is still in Michigan
This is such a good song, if a Civil war ever did break out in the US *COUGH* your songs will go down in history.
As a Hoosier I am now proud of my state.
I want to see feds, American Viet Cong- i mean Midwesterners, southern rednecks, and Texans joust it out on a single battlefield
@@deruta37 I would pay GOOD money to be apart of that
@americanchristiannationalist Indiana > Illinois
I’d gladly fight for midwestern independence.

Love ohio being the bottom of the flag , being our flag resembles the colonial flag of the u.s ,thus making it the "point " of the flag . (I know nerd shit but im an Ohioan im just happy to be recognized)
Memeing aside , love this song . Again lot of people underestimate the midwest but all of these great ass states (even Michigan) helped build this nation. Much love from ohio brothers and sisters
never fuck with the midwest!
Love this and your entire SACW series, hope Texas (my state) gets some music! Keep up the good work
It'll be in Spanish, though.
@@lavenderlilacproductions lmao
@@lavenderlilacproductions you say that like its a bad thing, the US was built on immigrants... literally over 99% of the human population are immigrants.
You have the good ol Missouri bois at your back friend
Managed to make me feel patriotic for states i've never been
Great song
Would you consider doing a rendition of Battle Cry of Freedom? I think while the corruption of the oligarchs in Washington and communists in the west would drive a lot away from Federalism, I for one would love to see some form of Unionist movement based on rebuilding the United States as it was intended, with the Constitution as the law of the land instead of tyrants whims. It's a classic song and for a Pennsylvanian Unionist like me, it would be awesome to hear. I only recently found your channel, but all your work has been awesome, and I've loved the Americana music.
I found this playlist while looking up an English version of another song. This is excellent, and I have some listening to do. As for this, this is my favorite so far, and I just want to say: you earned a sub.
Love the new instruments in this one. The banjo makes it very _American_ . The drums are also a great touch. Are these all instruments you know, or outsourced /midi? I also quite like the new lyrics format.
Yup, MIDI sourced!
absolutely love this! it's about time we've heard more music about the Midwest, thank you so much for making this!
The fire has sparked and it just won't stop burning. I've been awake with an unbidden spite for quite a time, now I hold onto my rifle and wait for the shooting to ring out. And when it does, god pray for me and all those around me... For the war will come, and it will be deathly.

yeah the biggest threat to US freedom is the US. the US military as it was in the gulf war would steamroll the chinese "military" as it is today...
Keen, give us an Aussie classic at one point mate ;)
love this from wisconsin
Cheers from Missouri
If I can find the lore of your civil war maybe I can use my skills to make it a HOI IV mod and use your songs (with permission of course)
Surprised Illinois was also included on the banner, we are always being mistaken as an entirely blue state!!
They’re Midwest. But mainly the blue is just Chicago and Springfield from my experience.
sheer testosterone
hey i just wanna say i utterly addore this little series
This is bop! love your voice man👍
I dont know if you will read this or not. But sir, this is an amazing piece, I just found out about your channel and have listened to a lot of your songs and covers, but this gotta be the BEST! I can feel the pride and passion for freedom even if I have nothing incommon with the people of the USA. Please keep making songs
