I agree that coaches are not creating a proper environment for these girls - by our standards. But tell me, how many college coaches have clauses in their contracts to reward them for how many teachers come out of their program? How many have contracts that reward them for graduating 100% of their players? How many are rewarded for the type of degree work their athletes pursue? I'll bet that the number of coaches with financial rewards based on those human attributes is close to zero. Coaches are paid to win games, be in tournaments and bring TV money to their school. Until the NCAA decides these kids really are students, and not just tokens to make money off of, we will endlessly see this kind of conduct.

The real question is not only for players but how refs hand over games to the team that was voted to win like how can refs just take a game in their hands blow for the most bullshit calls just to get a team a close 2 point lead with free throws that needs to be looked into a company needs to get the refs view the games and if they notice that they were giving bad calls and calls not being called and handing over games to the team that was voted to win I think they need to be fined suspended or fired because the officiating is getting badly out of hand and these refs can take full control of the game which isn't fair if a company cannot come and review every game and see if it was taking in the hands of refs the repect is gone, all those players working hard for basically nothing and the only teams you will see is the ones that ESPN want to see at finals so the sport just looks like shit till then.

Just me, but having coached middle school and high school girls BB, I would suspend that girl for that kind of behavior and have her make a public apology. You make a public insult, you make a public apology. I'd also warn her that if it happens one more time, she's off my team. No excuse for behavior like that no matter what happened. You basically justify the refs decision by responding like that. No class at all.

What kind of coach are you? This says you don't take the time to learn and understand your players, everyone is different and has a unique circumstance, there is no once size fits all. Why don't you become a better coach, being a coach means you NEED to have understanding and compassion. You just gave a general statement, if YOU were her coach, that means you SHOULD know her and have been communicating with her PERSONALLY, it's something the GREATS pick up along the way, because EVERYONE makes mistakes sir.
Don't give me this general bull crap one size fits all answer trying to impress a lot of these idiots I have seen in the comments, some having racist undertones. If you really do coach middle school, please be better, it makes a real difference having a coach who REALLY CARES! Do you care about the PLAYER or your IMAGE?

@Jayna Richelle totally agree, it would be easy to point out how the European tennis players with their country club up bringing display the same outbursts as the 20 something so-called inner city kids display during basketball, athletes are a different breed, when you're pumped up with adrenaline and emotional it usually brings out the best and worse characteristics. When you're young in most cases you're immature and impulsive. Most people on here usually go for the race thing when it comes to a sport where most of the athletes are presumably from the inner city, but ignore the foolishness from soccer, ice hockey, and especially tennis players. I'm an 80's baby so all the nonsense I did between 16 and 25 isnt documented like these kids today, but if it was yikes.
