Congratulations on reaching 100K followers! I have benefited greatly from your videos and came back to see if I can update to 15.3. Thank you so much for posting a video so soon!
@@Mr.Macintosh No problem! I've updated my MacBook Pro 13" early 2015 2,7GHz i5 dual core with 8gb RAM. The update to 15.3 was taking about 30 minutes. It was a bit buggy at the first start up, but after a reboot OCP opened up automatically to install some patches. After that, it all works fine now!
I don't even use OCLP for anything - really, yet I still come here for the summary. Still on Sonoma on my M2 Pro Mini :D And congrats on the big first 100k!
Congrats on your 100k milestone, very much appreciated channel and host, with imho the best OCLP video's for newbies or not so software tech savvy enthousiasts and users of OCLP. Huge thanks to de devs. Cheers!
congrats! not only for 100k viewers but your calm way explaining this complexity!! OCLP 2.2.0 and 15.2 running here on several Macbook (Air 2011, 2013 11inch, 13 inch) MBPro 2014, and some other. --just fine. M1 MAX 2020 MBP w/o OCLP. Thank you for this overview. waiting patiently for next OCLP Releasee and your comments :-)
Congratulations for the 100k subscribers 🙏👍. I would actually love a video on removing the Apple Intelligence database, as I‘m living in the E.U., tried out the features by switching my MBP to English and rolled back afterwards. We have to wait until April as it seems, so I wanted to unclutter my laptop. Thank you so much for all your interesting videos.
First of all Congrats for the 100K!!! Well deserve it!!!! And Second Im gonna wait for you OCLP focused video before I do the update!( like always). Better safe than sorry ;)
Long time follower! I followed your tutorials and upgraded my 2017 MBA to sequoia using oclp. However i have been trying to install windows 11 and i keep failing. Could you do an updated video on installing windows 11 on macs that have oclp on them? I am scared of bricking my computer and it seems sequoia somehows stops windows from installing on bootcamp partition. I am sure it will be immensely useful to a lot of us!
i had a problem where OCLP did not select the correct partition on restart. I had to manually select the correct partition so the install could continue but that was the only problem I had. This was on a mid 2015 7.1 MacBook air
thank you so much for guiding me on the OCL journey for my 15 inch mid 2012 MBP. I currently have OCL 2.2.0 although it is the 15.1. How do I update to 15.3 version? thank you.
Regarding the Mac Pro 5,1, I'm having software incompatibility issues with apps like Little Snitch, Sound Source, etc. on 15.x. Apparently, it's something that has to do with older processors. Anyway, around this?
Amazing video, once again, I have intel MacBook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2015 Processor 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 My only question is because I don’t have Mac chip. Mirror iPhone doesn’t work .? Just install 15.3, in my intel chip without problem
On the 12" Retina do you experience any sleep/wake issues? I restored my 2017 12" to Ventura due to it restarting every time I left it asleep, and disabling hibernate etc didn't help.
Hey, want to know if there is a fix for the problem with sequoia and apple thunderbolt display on older macs. I have a 2015 MacBook pro and with oclp sequoia i can’t use my TB display. The screen stay black. Please help here.
Love this product - however, keychain access is somehow missing (I make software and keychain access is important for notarizing and code signing). Any chance that this will happen is a thing with sonoma?
HELP! I have a 2015 iMac with 15.2 I installed last week. I let the 15.3 update run through the night, but it no longer identifies WiFi networks. It pops up the OCLP window, but cannot download kernel patches because of the lack of Internet 😢
Hello @sharonleibel, sorry to hear about your issues. Did the root patches install properly? You should still have the 15.2 KDK and that should work! OCLP should find the pkg or the older folder and apply the patches. IT could be that the iMac actually needs the 15.3 KDK, in that case if you can connect to ethernet that would work to get it.
@Mr.Macintosh How is your MBP late 2011 iGPU handling the workload to render the UI on Sequoia? My fans are always at full speed and temps. around 80-90 degrees Celsius…Any settings applied?
Hello @bsdooby I'm working on an idea for a new video what will show viewers how to deal with stuff like this. For example on my 2011, I disabled a lot of stuff and it runs a lot better. Example, spotlight, widgets & Siri for example. Also double check that your cooling fans & heat sync are free of dust. You would not believe some of the older Macs I've seen that are full of dust and are unable to stay cool.
@@Mr.Macintosh looking already forward to this episode! And maybe also talk about faulty dGPUs (?) The DeMux settings (in OCLP), and the accompanying nvram setting to disable the dGPU seem very delicate.
MacBook Pro Retina 15 inch Late 2013 failed to install 15.3. Came up with white screen. Had to install the post-install root patches to get things working again. And now it's telling me I didn't install the update.
I have a 2015 5k 27” iMac and a 2015 MacBook Air both with 15.2 installed. I came here to see if I needed an OCLP update before installing 15.3 and it seems the answer is no. I’ll update and report back. They both run quite well but I notice my 2010 iMac with high sierra seems a bit snappier than my 2015 with sequoia.
I installed 15.3 on a 2015 macbook pro and some 2013 mac air with no issues. My biggest issue is that I was not able to use migration assistant to bring back apps or documents/files from a time machine backup. I had to drag and drop all apps and docs, and tediously go find every app. Has anyone seen similar issues? I'm afraid to update my 'trash can', it's my workhorse for photo business and I need all my apps.
Thanks for your work, it's incredible! Please explain - can I install the automatic update of Sequoia 15.3 on my iMac Late 2015 27 inch 5K, on which I installed Sequoia 15.2 using Open Core Legacy Patcher? Thanks for any advice!
Yes you can.. only at the end you might get the black screen freezing which you have to force shutdown or restart and go to safe mode and install the OCLP and reboot and the rest should be fine.. And be sure to instal latest KDK build for 15.3 first.
Dear Mr. Macintosh, The upgrade went very smoothly. But since the last 2 upgrades my Macnook Pro 2015 SSD1TB 8 gig Ram is getting slower and slower? Can something be done about that? Thanks in advance for your answer, Greetings from Belgium

Dear Mr Mac, No help, as you promised in your last video, for the people whose computers running Big Sur were bricked by OCLP 2.2.0? You said you would look into it.
OK finally got down to it and found my 2013 MBPro. Installed just fine, after that was the issue I looked into it more and found that the issue is with the NON-METAL patches! Off to find a non metal device.
Worst part is, you can't safe mode back to the OS and Big Sur does not support root patch revert. The only way out is to reinstall over the top to get the system back. As of now, 2.1.2 will need to be used until the root issue can be figured out.
@@Mr.Macintosh Reinstall from what source? Doesn't the OCLP source have 2.2.0 pre-installed? Could you make a tutorial? This was posted by @falinism: Simple, boot to recovery, open terminal and type commands. mount -uw "/Volumes/Sonoma 1" bless --mount "/Volumes/Sonoma 1" -bootefi --last-sealed-snapshot and after that we change the bootloader version and never update it on Big Sur again until it is fixed for this operating system.
