Great races bro, that gt350 was getting down for sure! That was some tight races in the beginning. Gt350’s never disappoint and that’s on everything! One of the best sounding cars ever if you ask me 👍
I’ve owned both a turbo and supercharged vehicle. Nothing beats the raw power of racing or daily driving a built N/A engine. Don’t get me wrong though, boost is fun but a built N/A motor is something mean.
I agree, I play with early gen 4 Camaro's, I build them and road race them, I never consider using a turbo or supercharger, I build the HP in the engine not on the engine, I have found a properly built LT1 engine is unbeatable on the street and on the track.
Gear ratios also has to do with it as well. The Mustang has notoriously longer gearing compared to the Camaro, Im not surprised at the results. Both are great cars!
Fun fact, I weighed my zl1 at a scale and with the following mods I clocked in at 4,000 even - headers -muffler delete with turndowns at the axle -coilovers -drag pack only on the rear -3 gallon ice tank full of water and larger intercooler The rest of the car was complete including interior and about a half tank of fuel. Just food for thought if you mod it later on. Also for rolls, my 60-130 was MUCH faster starting in 3rd
Enthusiasts always put the GT350 against other bigger displacement vehicles with superchargers and etc. The analogy of the GT350 is the Rocky Marciano (188 lbs) fighting bigger and heavier guys over the 200 lbs.
GT350 was hot after a few runs and obviously pulling timing. That’s the only thing that can explain the sudden significant loss in power for the last couple races. Gotta say, this was a VERY entertaining video! Loved the enthusiasm and comradery between both the guys! On this video, America won!!!!

I had a stock 2017 Gt 350 with same color scheme and the sound made it seem like it was fast but in reality it was slower than my 2012 Stock Boss 302😊from a dig😊. Torque rules. Great race 😊PS: make sure you check your oil levels after running all out 😮

This is the most ridiculous race I have ever seen. Why didn't you race a 5.2 liter supercharged GT-500 against your 6.2 liter supercharged camaro, instead you chose to race against a smaller cubic inch engine that is naturally aspirated. You people can't stop complaining about tha weight of the cars, less face it, if everything was exactly the same between two cars there would be no winner, it would be a tie, so the best thing you can do is try to match up a race as close as you can. You totally failed at that attempt.

Two best sounding engines ever. I like my Fords, currently a F150 4x4 Crew, with the First Gen Coyote. Tuned 93/E85. Cat back duel 2.5 into 4 inch cannons bumper exit. Currently, No H or X pipe, with 18 inch glass packs. Not Ideal, was a test to see how much torque I loose without a H or X pipe, and the loss is very noticeable. I also run 33.12.50 tires that weigh over 100lbs each. Puts my Coyote under a nice load and sounds good.
Well its already 540hp stock so yeah. The camaro without the blower is 455hp. So both with blower the mustang will be in the 850ish crank which will walk the zl1 for sure
If the Mustang was 525hp factory and it has Longtube Headers and 93 Octane Tune im sure it picked up more than 20-25hp. My 2018 Silverado gained that much with just a 93 Octane Tune over factory with a CAI, Add Long Tube Headers and its significantly more power especially in a dual overhead motor.
no so they are both 5.2s but the gt350 is a flat plane crank engine a lot different while the raptor r i believe shares the same platform as the gt500s 5.2 cross plane predator i think its called
Gt350 top end is pretty nasty. I think it was pretty obvious for the zl1 to win because of the power & torque difference. Flat planes are weaker down low with the lower torque
@ I couldn’t really tell what rpm the 350 was starting in but it’s probably pretty low if it was 3rd gear. It’s probably not close to its peak torque, that’s what I’m referencing
Yea definitely low. For reference my old 18gt pp1 manual i use to lose to my friends scatpack when I first got it cause I was starting im 3rd .. after getting mad from those Ls. I learned to start in 2nd. Lol I had to shift immediately but I jumped out and kept pulling multiple times afterwards. Tires were chirping and that torsen was twisting but I was rolling lol. So point being the 350 with the higher rev limiter and lower torque definitely should be starting in 2nd. It sounds insane but when you're down on torque you got to.

No they don't always win at lower speeds either. There's a thing called gearing. This camaro is a liter larger displacement WITH A BLOWER. Of course it's gonna pull better at lower speeds lol.
That’s why you slap the right cam and heads on the Camaro brings the top end to life especially with a high compression piston. Those gt350 sound so great tho.

The Shelby GT350 weight around 3750lbs so its 500lbs lighter.
That gt 350 would ve turned up way harder if that driver had way more speed shifting on the fly experience , U literally gotta STOMP THAT CLUTCH!! your ASAP , u gotta get rid of 1st an 2nd immediately hoss!!!
Ion know how to gearing is on the 350 but on my Mustang if I’m running a 60 I’m in 2nd bc 3rd gear is too low in the rpm’s and u fall behind especially against something with more torque.

I don’t know what happened but the gt350 is n/a with great cooling so it realistically shouldn’t heat soak. Could be other underlying issues

Stock for stock these cars are actually close. This gen zl1 runs about a 12 flat in the quarter and the GT350 runs a 12.2
