Beautiful lakes. Have fun.
Nice to see you bring Meg home..
Another stellar video
Welcome back to the fingerlakes!
We used to see them in the trout streams in NJ. Nasty animals. Nice job E.
Deep Jigging on 🎣 strike.. awesome bro 😎👍🎣😁🤙
Nice change of pace
Man, you're a hella well-rounded fisherman. Successful in about any body of water. Props
Right, and he's beyond humble about it
Awesome you wet your hands before handling the trout your the first one on these fishing shows I watch who knew that. I'll be watching more of you , to be sure. Good video good job.
Elias, Show us your day .
We're here for you and tips. Prayers sent for Meg , Elias
God bless
Hey Meg!
God bless
I keep seeing people say this…what’s wrong with Meg?
Hes just praying for them. 🥰
apparently those lamprays are good smoked, they are very oily but when smoked a lot of the oil drains out. nice fish and great vid once again. peace.
Love your vids from england over here smashing the matey!
Yet another awesome video!
Hayal ettiğim avı gerçekleştiriyorsunuz elinize sağlık zevk ve heyecan ile takip ediyorum rastgele üstad.
Cool vid Elias!
Havent watched yet gotta be a lamprey. ...... yup . Nice job helping out that beautiful brown. Pretty impressive that you can get on em with not much prep time.
Beautiful Brown Trout. I visited Ithaca once, very beautiful area.
That's my kinda fishing. I grew fishing lake Cayuga. Downriggers trolling deep water for big lakers. My 2 biggest lakers were 30 plus. We only kept the smaller ones to eat for a better taste.
Cool video. I live in Wilmington and I’ve been watching your vids. When this one popped up I was like that’s not Wilmington. Lol..we have a lake house on Skaneatles lake in the finger lakes. Cool to see this cause I’ll be up there in June. Thanks for the content! Great work.
Enjoyed that. Some of the prettiest parts of the country. Great to see you up there again.
You should try Keuka, easier to go shore to shore, more access to bars and restaurants during your fishing day. PS: I’ll going there in mid August visiting family, (currently in Raleigh).
Great video as always.
Love the finger lakes videos.
Hopefully you can come and fish in eastern Long Island Sound NY.
Nice to see some fresh water fishing.
Awesome, thanks for announcing the depths!
reminds me of when Jeremy Wade from River Monsters put one on his neck...
No lamprey catch & cook?
Its beautiful in the finger lakes, nice job for browns, 1 lamprey down, cheers from Syracuse NY
Those eel is one of sturgeon bait I California. That would be awesome to live bait for sturgeon
Really liked this video, thanks!
Loving the lunch break videos!!!
Welcome back to NYC
My old stomping grounds.....which lake were you on? Good video.
Awesome day of fishing, your videos are always good definitely enjoy them.
yessir!! i was waiting for the New York videos! good stuff man.
Hell yeah, this is my freshwater jam right here! Great to see you make your way back up north!
Old Elias would have turned this into a lamprey catch and cook.
Supposedly they are actually good when breaded and fried. I hear they taste like trout....you are what you eat I guess.
is that what the new production night ranger will look like or is it a custom rod?
there is a river monster episode on the lampreys that is worth the watch
bro i just picked up some of your lures cant wait to smash fish with these ice fishing and open water here in upstate NY we know they work now!
I grew up on Cayuga lake!!! That’s awesome man. I’ve been following you for a while and never thought I’d see you up in my old neck of the woods!!! Enjoy upstate NY!!!
greetings, one of my favorites from Indonesia, I need support 🙏🙏🙏🎣🎣🎣🎣
Those lamprey are super tasty fried in butter. You have to de-teeth them though.
Lotsa foreign invader species in New York. Like gobies, lampreys, mussels, brown trout, rainbow trout, chinook and coho.
Some of them we like though!
Thank you for your great NY videos. They're always a joy to watch and very informative because you go out of your way to tell us what you are using and what depths. When browns, salmon and lakers are feeding on alewives it's always exciting.
Well, i make my artificial lures with silicone industrial myself and they look great. Fishing in Brazil.
Catch and cook lamprey
Brah, I love you sporting the HMGs. All time favorite rod.
Fun video. Great to see Meg back in the action. Keep it going, man.
That's crazy to catch one with it on it!
Yay some freshwater videos, I loved those older trout and salmon videos
I want to try this in NC and SC highland reservoirs like Jocassee and Fontana
Didnt know they had Lakers and browns down there
@@adamsmith3996 lake trout are in three lakes in Tennessee, NC and SC mountain lakes have some big browns and rainbows but no lakers
That's some fun looking fishing, great job! Never caught a lake trout only small rainbows and browns but they look like a great time!
Nice lake trout
I think NYS lists 6 lamprey species with yup to all of them being native. The Sea lamprey is the one people hate and used to be thought of as invasive. I'm the St Lawrence and Champlain it's thought it might be native. Though it is considered to be invasive in the fingers lakes, I don't know my identification to know which one of two or three species that one could have been. Not sure other than snakehead if NY has a "kill if caught" on any other species.
Which part of cayuga do you usually fish on?
those were some thick Brownies and the Lake Trout looked good to. but you're right, both of those species get HUGE. Beautiful lake.
We saw that fish hit your lure at the 740ish mark. I wasn't sure if you were reeling it in or had just hooked it. Clear water.
Man, it amazes me how different the brown trout are geographically. Here in western NC the brown average 13 inches with anything 20 and up being trophy size. We do get some large fish but they are VERY rare in public waters.
It has more to do with the topography than the geography. The Finger Lakes are deep. Over 100' in a V shape. Seems to be custom made to grow huge fish. Fish in moving water generally don't get that big. More hazards to live through. There are exceptions of course and they are all fun to catch. 🐡🐡🐡🐡
Plus, although the Finger Lakes are beautiful, it doesn't get much better than chasing native trout on the streams of western NC. I remember fishing some random stream near Chimney Rock. Beautiful and a damn good time.
We have lakes that hold trout species but they don't get anywhere near the size of the northern fish. I've caught browns in multiple states and IMO the western fish are the most fun. Very energetic and healthy.
Lamprey catch and cook! ha
More like catch and kill
@@daleockert6222 Seen them sold and ate all over the world in fish markets! Nasty looking things!
Killing me cause when I fished it I got the Lakers and a few Salmon but the brown trout eluded me. I saw a few caught but when I went I fished from the bank and really didn’t know what to expect but had a blast. Now my Wife’s Grand mother has passed away and the family farm has been sold. May never get back up there to fish. I love how you don’t let a big fish get you out of your game. I have seen people lose big fish just be cause they panic and do dumb stuff. Great video.
Custom rod is bad ass who made it and what’s the spec on it
The hicky fish!
I was not prepared for how that lamprey would look whipping around underwater. Gagg.
Was this on Cayuga Lake? I grew up in Ithaca and it's great to see some healthy browns and lake trout being fished.
Lamprey catch and cook?
what kind of net do you typically use?
These brown trout ones are my favorites.
Love the finger lakes, nothing like a good old fashion shore lunch with some fried walleye and potatoes on sourdough bread, do a catch and cook up there.....
I found lampreys in the Red River in Kentucky. A bunch of males trying to couple with a female. Very slippery critters. Not all species are parasitic on fish. Some are native...
If your still upstate and want to try a different fishery checkout the Cannonsville Reservoir. Should be about 2 hours south of you and is an unbelievable fishery
Nice video!! Good to see Meg with you. Not so good to see the lamprey on the trout, but that was an interesting view of its mouth 😮
We have those lampreys in the Great Lakes. I fish for salmon and trout in Lake Michigan and they attach to mostly Lakers, but sometimes Browns and Chinooks. We always let them dry out a bit in the boat, then cut them in half and throw them back.
What part of Great Lakes? My old hometown Buffalo.
I believe it’s the Finger Lake region.
How you like the new Vanford. I got one from my Son for my Birthday and I had a Stadic and loved it. Just wonder if you have tried one yet cause I know you fish Stadics a lot and with the name so close to mine I had to have one.
That thing was straight out of a horror movie! My wife doesn't like touching fish as it is, loves catching, but that would have messed her day up something serious 🤣🤣🤣🤪
cayug toad!
I think you could catch fish from a swimming pool.
If you're in the finger lakes, gotta hit some wineries! Dr Frank Konstantin FTW
I need to get me one of those Fenwick hats and that is a really cool place!
I'm 30 mins south of Seneca, those lampreys are actually a jawless fish one of the oldest families of fish. The perch on these lakes are big and delicious also! PS the wineries around there are great (especially the riesilings). Enjoy NY
Seneca perch are huge. My buddy once got a 17 incher
I know your known for the surf and so on. It's still nice to see you hit the fresh up some of my favorite vids were you catching crappie and Lakers or just fishing. Anyway keep em comin man.
Hell yeah man you right by my house again!
I was wondering when you’d do another brown trout in the finger lakes video. Great video as always!
Wow that's impressive stuff. May I ask what .lb test you were using?
i was up in canandaigua a few years ago in june and that water was still remarkably cold
That eels mouth is crazy looking like you see in a movie! 😂 great fishing brotha!🤙🏽
Could you identify whether you are fishing in fresh water or salt? I know when the waves break that is salt water, but these inlets, etc. confuse me. Thanks.
This is freshwater. Finger Lakes. Glacier carved lakes in upstate NY.
I’ve never seen anyone catch so many species of trout so reliably, from speckled to brown, salt to fresh. You catch them everywhere you go, I think it must be voodoo.
Which finger lake is that?
Yep. Yous a fishy guy. Love watching your presentations.
Elias, that was your best kill 🙈(lamprey) 🤮 great video.
Have fun 🍺
If I lost the head to my Mackinaw..what would you suggest I could use for the rest of the replacement tails in the package? (just until I get home to order more :) )
Nice fishing Elias are these stocked or wild fish? Also what model is your fishfinder?
Hey bud you should hit some of those wineries up there! They are great
couple episodes ago you snapped a Fenwick high sticking. now you're wearing their hat :p
Thank Goodness he isn't wearing an ugly stick hat
I’ve used shad darts to catch them in the back of canal along the south shore of Long Island beside the docks ultra lite tackle and I think they also make the best large live lined baits for cow bass 1 shad = 1bass
The sea lampreys that come up the Connecticut river to spawn, the young lampreys are a very important forage fish. Im not sure if its the same up thete
Yeah those lampreys are frickin vicious
Usually in that lake it's "Catch 1 trout with a lamprey attached, release 1 trout and 2 or 3 lampries". Not take them for a ride in the back. LOL Was fishing that same lake this past weekend from the kayak - more lakers then browns jigging the same way you do. What's you secret to get the browns to bite ?
Seriously...
I'm at my wits end getting the browns to engage
