Ahh you missed an opportunity to do a click-baity thumbnail. You should have photoshopped in a giant shark fin and titled it "Encounter with the MEG on the finger lakes"
I was reading your equipment breakdown and I saw you were using 10# line and a 120# leader; glad you clarified in the video! I thought it was a little much.
You ever try jigging for trout/salmon in the Great Lakes? Lots of areas you can get to in the kayak. Just obviously have to pick your days but the Lake Trout out there are freaks.
Man I'm always jealous of your finger lakes videos, this type of jigging looks so fun. I've gotta get up there one of these years and try it out. Great video Elias!
I am one lake over from you right now LOL. Pulling out beautiful Lakers from 90 feet of water and Rainbows from 40 feet of water. Love your videos, stay safe and God Bless! ☺️🎣
There is just something so satisfying about going on a trip/vacation and slaying fish. It’s not your normal haunts, tactics, fish etc. For me it’s chasing reds when I vacation in NC. Being able to share that with your significant other and watch them have success is even better! Well done my friend. Shows your versatility. 👍
Double uni knots are great, but have you ever tried an Alberto knot? I feel its a little easier to tie, a bit stronger and it also a smaller knot so it glides through the guides easier, just a thought. Great video as per usual!!
Sweeet! Being from NY, close by NYC, I always loved going upstate or to Canada. Big Trout are the apex predators up there. My biggest was an 8lb brown. Maybe the "supermoon" had a good effect for you. Funny I always used 8lb mono, anything more I think my bites became less. Now fishing in SW Fl I wouldn't think of using anything other than a 15-20 braid and a 20-25 flouro leader. Keep up the good work brother.
The name on the pro-cure is pronounced coke-a-nee. It's is a form of land locked sockeye salmon. Tend to be more common in the west and rocky mountain states but they do range out to the east coast.
My wife was listening in the background and she heard you say “hot dusk bite” and she gave you a woo hoo!! She’s a fan of hot bites but still has trouble determining when and if you are on one😂
I ask you about waterland sunglasses one time and you told me that they were really good quality even though I didn't think I could afford them. I've used some cheap brands I don't even know the names of them, but what I've noticed with those glasses that I bought were that they were too dark to see the water between 5:00 and 7:00 a.m. do the waterlands let you be able to see in the water without a glare even early like that without much sunlight? If so I might have to look into them. I don't want to be screwed over though. Mine work fairly well but just not in the wee hours of the morning. What do you think?
Cayuga? I've been doing great there 57~72' with your 1oz and 1.3oz white jigs. 20+ fish per morning session, just find the bait and fish the edges of the bait.
Elias, what’s your take on the Vanford. I have the same but seems to have some play up/down on the spool shaft compared to stradics. Not sure if this is how they are. Reel can take a beating on fish way bigger for it. Felt bad what it went through this spring on the stripers testing it haha. I really like that jigging world knob setup.
That looks more like a rainbow trout to me. You said you were at the finger lakes? Sorry I got rid of some of the people I subscribe to because they just weren't teaching me anything that I already pretty much knew. I think I must have unsubscribed to you, I didn't mean to do that. Also I was just putting my notifications as lesser for some people and I was thinking of doing that on yours only because you're not fishing right where I am at and I am just trying to learn the area, the state more or less and the surrounding areas better. I just wanted to move my notifications around a bit. I heard you say finger lakes. You mean finger lakes of New York below the Great lakes, correct? Just curious which lake you are in if that's the case. I fished lake Seneca I believe back probably before I was in high school. Our family went on a camping trip and we ended up around there I think and I really didn't catch that much because I was just a kid. I think I caught a lot of rock bass and that's about it. I was fishing from the shore. This just really takes me back. I don't even have a question for you I'm just talking. I'm not at the end of the video yet so maybe I'll have a question by that time. Keep on pumping them out bro I appreciate it God bless
Hiii.. Elias I only want to ask you something and I will appreciate if you answer me..what's the best time to go fishing ..wether..time and bites??? Thank you very much...
Hey Elias. Interesting that you can get salmon on those paddle tails, I asked a salmon fisherman from Washington if you can catch salmon any other way besides trolling and he said not really. I found that to be some horseshit and you’ve proven me right.
@@adamyoung480 nah. I asked the Washington man about both. No difference. A fish is a fish. Snook In Florida vs snook on Costa Rica have no difference in eating.

Obviously that’s what I should have done. Terrible business decision on my end.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Man the best comment that made me laugh about this influencer/look at me culture.
Thanks for the "MEG" sighting, fish on brother!
Elias have you ever thought about doing a video on what you look for on the fish finder? Would love an episode covering this at the coast.
@17:20 ... "Who you kiddin' there pal"! Legs crossed in the kayak, hooked up and livin' the dream 😄👍🍻!

loved watching this with the grandkids...oliver and jasper. keep it going.
cant ship the Dr. juice in the Philippines.. but i still love all your videos..
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
I like that you use Fenwick, my favorite rods.
the fish painter is invaluable for this type of fishing - not a total miracle but it helps significantly get you in the ballpark - good content!
Great video. I love the finger lakes videos

Good to see you, my fishing low level light had been getting brighter, video extinguished it. Thanks.
Nice work
Great video. Love the versatility you show with multiple types of fishing.
Enjoyed the content 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Those lakers are slimmer and more aggressive than the northern lake michigan ones we catch. There must be more competition in the fingered lakes.
I am one lake over from you right now LOL.

I love these freshwater videos, keep them coming!
The trout you catch are what dreams are made of.
Great video!! Wait till you catch a big bowfin if you want a lure tangled in a net lol. Rubber nets are a necessity
I really enjoy the finger lakes content brother!
Did you moved to NY?
It’s gotta be a nice feeling to make such successful lures
Awesome bro! Can’t wait to get back down there with y’all 🤙🏻
That has been my experience with any folding net.
Can you do a bluegill video soon

Sebago Strain / landlocked salmon. Awesome, beautiful...sucks about the lamprey though. Can't believe how they're that far inland.
Hey new hat.
Do you use the uni knot to attach the leader to the main line? Live your videos.
What knot do you use to

Fishing Lake George now. All the fish I've hooked are around 70 feet!
Grew up near Lake George. Beautiful place! Water seems a lot warmer than I remember it being growing up.
@@leembandy It probably is. We catch catfish now, never used to. But it still seems cold enough when you swim!
I was just there for 2 weeks kayak fishing on Cayuga lake. Did not do well, Is what it is. Next time Which Finger lake is this one?
He's on Cayuga.
Hey Elias, noticed you only kept the salmon. What's your pecking order on eating these deep water lake fish?

@@williamschramm2973 yup, I've been fishing up north by Long point, the same story there, just find the bait
Let’s fkin go👀🤘
Do you tend to get more on the follow up or working the bottom. How much does this relate to saltwater?

Pls make a fishing video with ur wife.. she seems really happy and nice😄
your a trout catchin beast gj
I enjoyed the video!! Where were you fishing today? I must have missed the destination....finger lakes?
We need a catch, clean and cook with the salmon.
WIFE?- I guess I missed something - Congrats - Mozel Tov
Great jigging technique...gotta have the right combination of weight and jig for 80' of water even with 10# braid...1.3 oz shad jig worked well
Are lake trout good table fare? Great video as always! Thank you!
Same question
Nice catch for the wife good eaten, i want to ask you if you still use your Dark matter rod set up i haven't seen you use it lately , why?
Try that sometime in salt water
you use Mackinaw Shad white 1oz?????

What! You hot married? Congrads,. Marriage is wonderful - most of the time. It takes some work though 🤺. I'm twentythree years in. Again, congrads
The fish your wife caught at the beginning was a brown trout. Beauty.
Put some weight in the bottom of that net. A big bag on a net like that needs a steel ring in the bottom.
Why don’t you ever specify what lake you’re fishing?
