It doesn't hurt. But it is not required, you can just power down from MCU. I am not sure if I addressed it in the video, but open the frunk before doing anything, just in case you need to disconnect power.
There are two ribbon cables that attach the PCBA to the MCU. One is thicker and has each end marked. One side says 'Display'. The other ribbon cable is thinner. Which one controls the digitizer?
We have 2 models, one is new without the extra piece of glass, so no that one will never do it, the other is a remanufactured screen and we have only been using them for about 1 year, and have not had any issues. We have been told by the manufacturer that we will not see the issue like the OEM screen.
Great walkthrough, very detailed!
Thank you!
Great Video. Question, does the MCU1 replacement screen have glass on it or are you reusing the previous screens glass?
Thanks for the comment, yes they have to have the glass. The glass is the digitizer which is what tells the car where you are touching.
Did you not have to disconnect the power for this?

There is only one ribbon cable that attaches to the PCBA, it is that one.
Did this resolve your issue?
Thank you !
You are welcome, thank you!
Do your screens suffer from the same glue issue?

@@reeldealev Not sure which extra piece of glass you’re referring to. Haven’t taken one apart yet.
