I do really like this really slow, menacing feel that RAAM's theme has, and when it kicks into high gear, all the aggression comes into full play.
If I had to describe this in a word, it would be *impending.* You know its coming, and there is nothing you can do to stop it from happening.

I...actually kinda like this theme. It's definitely not as bombastic as the others, but just like the series that Raam comes from, the piece is moody, and tries to wash the atmosphere over you rather than hit you over the head with badass riffs and tracks all the time. The sort of droning melody also helps to create tension, which I like, and again fits with the Gears series. Also, the Ultra is awesome, imo.
So yeah, I'm actually a fan of this one. Much better than the Arbiter theme, which frankly just feels forced as hell.
Spot-on. Gears music was never as triumphant or heroic as Halo's was. It was very melancholy and a slow, ongoing sense of dread to it.
I really enjoy the guitar in this. it builds some very nice moments.
I also like it cause a lot of parts are in 3/4 or 6/8 time

The reason raam's theme fits the gears of war music is because it's a remix of gears 1's battle theme

It's just that this version is done so well and blends the various phases perfectly

Jesus christ, I really love Celldweller, one of my favorite artists for a long time, so I was naturally hyped for this OST, but so far I gotta say, it sucks, and you can't even blame Atlas Plug, he's so into that project and everything he adds sounds fantastic, but Celldweller sounds like "Here's 9 Minutes of the same Riff, add your bleepy bloopy computer noisey magic, I'm off snorting coke from the back of a Hooker"
In a way I do agree, whoever's making the repetitive riffs need to stop and be more variable. Kinda like Tusk's and Mira's theme, like I love the riffs but making them go throughout the entire theme is omg boring sometimes and feels so weak and lazy. Mick did a good job and making his themes so variable and different, thus making us all love his versions. Atlas Plug and Celldweller are good music composers but need to dive in deeper into the KI way I guess I can say. Their only theme so far that I believe is as close as how Mick would've done it is Rash's awesome theme.
Celldweller is mostly responsible for the guitar and the guitar only, everything else is Atlas Plug, sometimes I believe that Microsoft just hired him for his name's sake
Marcel El Assadi Do you ever just wonder why Mick even got fired or quit? Whichever reason it was, the only thing that ever pops up in my mind is that he probably just wasn't getting paid enough for the tremendously hard work he really puts into the game.
Before Season 3 started, Mick Gordon was in the process of getting ready to do the DOOM soundtrack. That's why the torch was passed onto Celldweller and Atlas Plug

Nope it's based off his special charge in the Shadow of RAAM DLC from Gears of War 3. Except the people on the end of the charge become roadkill at the end. Truly glorious.

I like that they worked in parts of the Gears of War theme into this song. RAAM is a very underrated villain in the games. I mean, the guy was fighting two wars at once when he was alive. One with the Lambent, and one with the humans of the COG. And he was fucking winning!

I don't think Gears ever had the musical depth that Halo did. I assume that this was a mixed adaption of his theme from Gears or something like Arbiter's was.

...I think RAAM has the best ultra combo now. Just listen to that. Most ultras are kinda just mickey mousing. His sounds like an actually full-on tune that you'd get at the closing of a track, and it's delicious. As someone who's never picked up Gears of War, welcome to Season 3, General.

He's the first Gears Of War's main antagonist. He doesn't show up a lot though which I kind of like. Keeps him ominous rather then a villain that is constantly on your tail.

I also agree: Rash's theme is the best Season 3 theme! Though it's at a tie with Spinal for my number one favorite theme in the game.
+TravixMan Productions I love the cackling skeleton's theme. He's my main and half of the reason is his music. Other half is his chaotic gameplay is just so much damn fun.

This is complete dog shit. Not the mix but the theme itself. Season 3 OST has been a huge let down
so bad... sigh... why did they do this. this is legit the worst one. they couldn't just remix the locusts theme or something? it just sounds so flat. it doesn't sound like gears and it doesn't sound like KI. Shame
gilbert zepeda the difference is that mick said very publicly that he didnt have nearly as much time to work on riptors as the others. He said on his twitter that he would like to redo it. So he knows its bad and that it was because that month he had less time cause of problems durring riptors development
IZUNA DROP Gears of War has a much slower paced but heavier atmosphere, kind of like watching a person slowly die, if that makes any sense. Song does fit, just the oversaturation of headahe inducing bass lines makes it seem off putting.
