To answer Eric's question at 14:54 the United States suffered a catastrophic economic collapse in the 90s, which eventually led to the country pretty much splitting apart. Several states left the Union, Texas became its own country, and California was split in half between north and South, with Night City in between as a border city-state between the two.

We're heading down the path to the obvious terminal point of excessive, unregulated capitalism. People, even in the keeping people alive industry, have a payment threshold to acting compassionately to one another. It looks terrible in night city. But that's not saying it's not already terrible in the USA today. GoFundMe is like the #1 provider of health insurance. Other countries have different challenges for sure, but I know that I've never had to pay for an MRI or CT Scan or any ER visits when I lived in Canada, Europe, or some parts of Asia. It's sad. Humans deserve better. We deserve to treat one another like humans.

All the vibes of Blade Runner, Altered carbon, Black Mirror, Ghost in the shell, Johnny Mnemonic, Repo Man, and Total Recall... all in the TTRPG world of Cyberpunk (set just before the CP2077 videogame) Outside of the city you have 3 options: 1. Wartorn wasteland 2. Megacorp agriculture complex 3. Nomads (mad max)
As everyone else has said, this Night City is the same Night City from Cyberpunk 2077! Same locations and easter eggs! P.S Night City is in a future America, actually the New United States of America (NUSA), and is located in what was formerly California (noted in the official guidebook).
The amount of accuracy this series has when it comes to in game locations is absolutely astonishing. It’d be so fucking cool if there was an edge runners mod that made the game look like the show.
Arcane is a unique show in the sense that I feel that it's actually better to go into it without baggage or knowledge of the characters and lore ahead of time, because as someone that's played League of Legends since 2010 and was highly into the lore in all it's form the entire time, there was a lot of things I knew would have to play out with the characters involved because of who they are and what the intent of the show is to be a sort of origin story for the cast from a particular region. Essentially knowing from the outset that some characters simply aren't going to make it kills a lot of the dramatic weight, especially when some of those characters are also known to _have_ to die in order for their actual arc to really begin. There's also a lot of weight of expectations of who you might see that maybe leads to disappointment when it doesn't happen. There's 8 characters we know introduced in season 1 and still another 14 we've still yet to see, and only confirmation of one of them coming for certain thanks to the teaser that was released confirming a season 2 that used a very iconic music piece for him. Boy this certainly was a lot to say about a show that isn't even the point of this reaction and I have nothing to say on that front because I heard Arcane and just went feral.

FINALY, IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
The game vastly improved from launch, it's still not perfect, but if you get it cheap it's a very fun game with a good story and characters.
And now with 2.0 and Phantom Liberty it's fantastic, pretty much the game we were promised. Granted i thought the story was fantastic and the gameplay solid even on release. But it had a lot of technical issues.
IM SO HAPPY I JUST ORDERED CYBERPUNK 2077 YESTERDAY AND NOW YOUR REACTING TO EDGERUNNERS
Eric PLEASEEE play the game haha, you'd absolutely love it!
This is one of the few shows that made me cry like a bitch. Enjoy the ride.
SAME!
@@James2ndd Did you play the game first? I think it got me so good because I was already invested in the world from the 1000 hours I put into the game.
@@HelplessTeno yep that was part of the reason. I haven't put in that many hours. But I've put in a good amount. Night city just feels like a real place.
This show moved into my top 10 anime series of all time.
This is one show where I prefer the English over the Japanese. Also get ready for a roller coaster of emotions
same!
I think everyone does, at least I haven’t really seen any of the usual complaints you can find in any dub anime episode here , it just fits the setting of the story much better
I still prefer the sub, but the dub is also excellent.
It makes more sense to watch it dubbed instead of subbed like I get that it's an anime and all but the show is set in California and they literally have slang in the show like choom that doesn't exist in Japanese so I think that speaks for itself.
@@animusswtor4822 Obviously not.
I am so happy to see you guys react to this
We're heading down the path to the obvious terminal point of excessive, unregulated capitalism.
YES FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Haven't watched it, but will now since you uploaded
Close your emotions off... trust me
Sad that Erin was not here. Hope he will catch up.
This reminds me to recommend "Psycho Pass" next time, the pre-Cyberpunk(?) Isolated Japan.
Who?
holy shit can't believe you guys are watching this I'm not even into anime AT ALL and I loved it from start to finish you are in for a wild ride
You better watch some more anime then.
@@Nekotaku_TV eh I feel like 99% anime is a bit too weird for me lol and anime dubs are often not great this one is for sure an exception tho in both regards
@@lenscomics3791 Well you shouldn't watch anything dubbed. But that's what's so great about anime, it's like its own medium and has something in every genre. You should try my favorite that many people love, Steins;Gate. Sci-fi drama with comedy, actually similar to Cyberpunk in that sense.
OH SNAP THEYRE REACTING TO IT AAAAA
y’all in for a rollercoaster of emotions. won’t even know what hit ya! lol
All the vibes of Blade Runner, Altered carbon, Black Mirror, Ghost in the shell, Johnny Mnemonic, Repo Man, and Total Recall... all in the TTRPG world of Cyberpunk (set just before the CP2077 videogame)
Outside of the city you have 3 options:
1. Wartorn wasteland
2. Megacorp agriculture complex
3. Nomads (mad max)
I was literally listening to the ending song and other osts (while crying yes) and then this pop up, that's a dream
YES!
Yes!!!
unexpected gem I really loved this and the game
Based off of this. It'd be badass if y'all watched the flick strange days. Veeeery similar vibes
"Strange Days" is very underrated. It's one of the best scifi films of the 90's.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners!? Lets go!
As everyone else has said, this Night City is the same Night City from Cyberpunk 2077! Same locations and easter eggs!
P.S Night City is in a future America, actually the New United States of America (NUSA), and is located in what was formerly California (noted in the official guidebook).
Freaking youtube, how in the F it took it 6 whole days to recommend me this! Have been waiting so long for you to finally react to Edgerunners!
PS: Where is Aaron? We can't have the full experience without him tearing up in every sad scene.
Best Series of 2022
Agreed
I was waiting for this. Weoo Weoo
The amount of accuracy this series has when it comes to in game locations is absolutely astonishing. It’d be so fucking cool if there was an edge runners mod that made the game look like the show.
This ED,LET YOU DOWN hits different 🥲
Ok I’m ready to cry again.
Does this mean that we'll have card/board game nights again?!?!
This is gonna be one of the best rides.
Great reaction guys
That's awesome, but this isn't Arcane...
The game is actually absolutely phenomenal now. Just recently replayed it
HELL YEAH! I was hoping you guys would check this out! It's an absolutely amazing story!
