He is my childhood friend at Fort English High School, Trivandrum where his father Shri Sankaranarayana Iyer was my Maths teacher. From that time onwards he was performing on stages and won great appreciation for his unique flute rendering. Nostalgia sprouts in me of 60 years ago. 🙏
Nowadays , Chennai lobby or anyother lobby cannot stop anybody. All deserving artists are getting sufficient popularity through RUclips and other media. People are running behind such artists for concerts... KSG doesn't need any awards. He is already gifted by Lord Krishna Himself.
Whoever the pakkom they are absolutley delightful. Violin is as good as Sri Chandrasekaran saar's in that subdued and melliflous way; mridangam : could it be Mavelikkara Velukutty Nair saar? Violin late Smt T Rukmini? MS Anantharaman saar? Not Rukmini madam ... who?
I listened him first in 1977 at Shanmukananda, Mumbai and became a fan of him. When somebody asks ‘Who is the best flutist?’ Without hesitation I say “Lord Krishna, T R Mahalingam and Gopalakrishnan”.
One of the greatest and most underrated flautists of our times. He may not have seeked publicity and fame, but his music will forever be etched in the memories of rasikas, both present and future. The music he has created shall remain with the humankind.
Vidwan Sri. KSG never rose to the ' fame' as his senior flautist did because of his ( NR) Mali style of rendition. I personally liked Sri KSG's renditions better than most others ( senior & contemporary flautists)...JMHO .
Sir, your alapana creation and rendering can put our words to shame to say the least! Can't describe anyways the ultimacy of your knowledge and intellect. We haven't heard lord Krishna's flute, but didn't miss KSG Krishna. Hearty pranamas.... Yearning for more
@@mahabalakrishnaprasad2870 It is learly not Sri M Chandrsekaran[please not the great violinist spells his name without the 'h' after "K" ! Chandrasekaran, NOT< ChandrasekHaran!
