This might help you even if you aren't an RV newbie-maybe you're about to embark on your longest and biggest trip yet! In this week's episode, we share 5 areas where you can relax to help give you peace of mind. At the end of the video, we also share some big family news and an update on the Bungalow. We're eager to hit the road this season, but the Florida remodel has taken twice as long as promised and we needed to take over ourselves to get it done. Although it might not look like it, we're just a couple of weeks away from completion. We'll have family stay there and keep an eye on any remaining projects while we head north for our Summer To Remember!

As a recent widower, I have decided to buy a small RV and hit the road full-time with my dog (Catahoula Leopard). It was a dream of my wife and myself but now I will be going solo with the dog. Fortunately, my brother and sister-in-law are RVers and can help get set up. I have traveled to 31 countries and 45 states so looking forward to visiting as many of the US's 4 million miles as possible.
Been watching you for years, been dreaming of an RV for even more years. On my own now, downsized the house, bought a truck and RV, just did my first two solo trips in my Rockwood Roo 19 Hybrid...a few rookie mistakes but I did it! Eight short local trips planned for this summer (Ontario), dreaming of a multiple month trip next summer...
Wow, 7 years has flown by! I've been watching you since day 1. I remember you guys having a flat tire as soon as you hit the road. It's been fun watching the kids grow up! The boys look so little in old clips. Congratulations Victoria! You will be such a beautiful bride!
Mind the dip? One of my favorite RV memories was in the middle-of-no-where Wyoming when we got a flat tire on the travel trailer. My elementary-age kids were like, "Dad, can we please help change the tire?" I said yes, and my kids blew me away with their cooperation and initiative. They were never upset or disappointed, they were excited. in less than 20 minutes we were underway again on the spare. My kids had a great story to tell, and I was left wondering who raised these kids? Without the dip, I would have never met my true children on that trip.
What is so impressive with you two is the visceral excitement and the adrenalin that is obvious when you share your stories.
THIS is why I watch and learn and enjoy.

Our favorite adhoc camping spot is Casinos. Quite a few have free RV overnight parking with security. We don't gamble but we buy fuel and use the restaurants etc.
Sorry to hear about your construction troubles. It probably doesn't help but you are not the the only ones :). This too shall pass and then you'll be like, "how cool is our bungalow". Can't wait to rent it one day! Congrats on your daughters engagement.

Funny you should mention you could watch 1 episode a day for a year, I started watching back at season 1, got completely sidetracked after 2, so recently I went back and made this my show to watch so over the last few weeks I watched from season 3 up through now, seeing the kids and Charlie grow up over a short period of time it's been like a timelapse almost :)
Boy o boy did I have some anxiety over the black tank process!!! We have had a popup for years without that, and upgraded to a Travel Trailer in May 2023. Having done in 3 or 4 times, it is such a non-issue! MUCH less stress or struggle than I built up in my mind!
I don’t know why this showed up in my feed, never thought about RVing! But I’m sure glad it did! You guys a great! Maybe it’s a sign from the universe 🤷🏼♀️🤗

Congratulations KYD Fam! So delighted for Tori’s engagement. One of my greatest joys in life was gaining another son and daughter-in-love as I call them. So much ahead for you all. We relate with the building issues having done it multiple times with my hubs as the GC, chief builder, electrician, etc. You’re on the home stretch. Praying you find the help you need soon for the window issue which will get you on the road soon. Have so much fun Trish and Tori…the beginning planning is the best part! We just left the PEI. Trish loved Anne of Green Gables. Of course, she read the books as a kid which made it personal.
That's great advice! I know I was the one who thought I needed everything before we left for full time RVing as if we were going to moon and wouldn't have access to a store lol. You learn quickly to breathe most things are available in most places. Great video as always! You guys are always fun to listen to and we always learn so much!

My wife and I have been watching the channel for years and for the most part enjoy and appreciate the content. We accepted the 6-15 second ads that popped up. However, last night we sat down to watch this video and were immediately hit with a 60 second unskippable commercial. I won’t pretend to tell you how to monetize your business but if we encounter too many more of those we are going to find another less popular RV channel to watch.
1. Sometimes RUclips has a mind of its own, but 2) oh my....the channel is free but you might have to watch a commercial.
Hey guys! Brand newbie here. Pick up my Airstream on June 6th and going full time! Never towed anything in my life so a bit nervous but trying to soak in all the info I can. This episode gave me more confidence thank you!
Gonna love it. They tow so nice. Sometimes, you forget it is back there. Always swing wide, never assume you're smaller than you are.
Just remember that the trailer tailgating you has a family who love having fun. In my experience, it takes anywhere from a few hours to a few days to get used to a different vehicle. On my first RV trip, I rented a class C and a few days in, I was driving a one lane state highway with a steep hill on one side and a steep drop on the other. While it wasn't "a piece of cake," it wasn't all that difficult, either.
Take your time and check and recheck all connections you will do fine 👍

Every Sunday i have waited for your updates, from all over the world. I find your channel on a phone and IPad or computer at an airport, sat on top of a chemical reactor in an airplane or a hotel room in China, India, England, South Korea, USA and Home in Canada. We've seen these little kids grow into Awesome Adults. We've had arguments along the way, we lost the family Dog 😪😪and now we have an engagement 😁😁. It's been awesome to come along with your journey !!! Thank you for sharing a little bit of your life with us all in these sometimes stressful times !!! You're wise to wait til things warm up in the Maritimes, I grew up in NS and live with my farming family on PEI now. It's a truly beautiful and historic rich area. We are packing up our 4 kids (10, 12, 14, 16) into our new to us C class and traveling across Canada this summer. We have learned so much from you sharing your stories, and are looking forward to seeing your Eastern Canada adventures! Bless you! (Highly recommend Fundy Park in NB, Fortress Louisburg in Cape Breton, and sunsets on the beach on PEI!)

Thank you Marc & Trish for the tips. While I’m not exactly a newbie I still feel like it especially after every winter season learning to back in my trailer again! This is my 3rd summer with it. Congratulations on the engagement!!!! Sounds exciting! I’m looking forward to what you will be sharing in Nova Scotia. I was there in August 2019. 2 weeks travelling from Ontario & back was not enough time to see all that I wanted to see & experience, however once I cover the other provinces & territories I will be back!

We travel in an Airstream and love it. I heard your comment regarding overnighting parking in Wal-Mart; I would agree. We discovered a few of Cabela’s parking lots had designated overnight parking for RVs/Trailers.

BIG MISTAKE at 12:55! ALWAYS hookup the sewer hose ASAP when you stop. Example: we stopped at a park, setup up including the sewer hose and went for a walk after we finished. When we got back there was water running out the back of our camper. We had forgotten to turn off the bathroom sink completely. I opened the gray valve and the over flow stopped almost immediately. The gray tank was full and also filled the shower pan and it was overflowing. If the sewer hose was not attached, it would have taken much longer to stop the water flowing onto the floor. I'm VERY glad It was already hooked up! PS, love your channel.

You guys can’t go to Nova Scotia without going to Prince Edward Island!! You can cross the Confederation Bridge and see the most beautiful scenery and beaches in North America! It’s my old stomping grounds and I would make it a must see! If you need ideas on where to stay I can certainly help!
We have a rock hound, too. And he is now raising his own rock hound. Life is good. The bad news.......they grow up and leave. The good news......they come back with little short people.

We use our trailer for Vacations, more than to travel. 7 to 10 days in one park, then moving to another for another week or so. That is our summer Camping plan. So, we tend to put everything up, every time. Of course we have to get our trailer out of storage and back home. That is Saturday's job.
As we plan to make some long trips after we retire (July 2024), we did a test run last June, where we stayed only 2 days at each park, travelling 300-400 km every other day. Muskoka to Wawa and back. We learned the lesson, not to set EVERYTHING up every time. Our Shelter only got setup once and that was due to BUGS!
I am look forward to see your trip to Canada video later this summer. We have begun planning two post retirement trip, one to Nova Scotia and the other to Banff (Both starting in Ontario). So you will provided us with lots of good ideas for our trips.

Great video, lots of good info. Congrats to Victoria and good luck with getting the windows. I was watching another channel I like because they do a lot of repair and upgrade tutorials. On the latest episode they were in Elkhart and stopped by the RV Hall of Fame. I bet you won't guess one of the attractions they mentioned that they wanted to see. That's right, I have a screen shot off the video of them in front the Bluebird. I was really happy to see other RV'ers interested in going in and giving it a look!

Florida - those windows are a MAJOR PRIORITY!!! Having lived in FL for so many years, if you haven’t, you have no idea how much rain pours out of the sky during rainy season/monsoons/hurricanes. I hope that someone will be able to help you out getting windows into your bungalow pronto quick, asap.......FAST!!!!!!!
