Everybody keeps saying they need to get this player that player when really it should get a true big run it back with team they have. Improve where they can improve and get a competent coach that can leads these guys in the right direction. This team ain’t no damn disaster everybody is making it seem 1 year ago all summer everybody talked about how the lakers won the off season and now there acting like we have a 15 win squad

I see a lot of people saying no to Chris Paul. My whole thought process on this is I would 100% be interested in Chris Paul. It'd be on a small contract likely a minimum contract #1. #2 he'd be a solid option off bench to Run second unit something we lacked all season a true point guard to run second unit since Gabe was hurt. #3 he's smart and a solid defender at his age and size. Again is he gonna be prime Chris Paul? Hell no. But on a minimum/small contract to run second unit off bench it would be a solid pickup.
As for Darius Garland i don't know. I saw something saying Cavs would want Reaves and Rui and i can't help but think Garland ain't much better than DLO if he's better at all. I know his defense is SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than DLO and he's actually a solid defender and someone who can score and shoot giving you a 2 way player and he's only 24 but he's only 6'1 and similar to DLO he's very inconsistent offensively. He'll have 30 one game then 11 the next. I understand he was playing next to Donovan Mitchell was definitely hurt his numbers but he seemed to struggle in playoffs. A game with 5 points and a bunch with 15 or less points. Game 4 vs Boston he had 30 points but in the following game vs Boston which was elimination game also without mitchell he had just 11 points on 4-17 shooting. To similar to DLO offensively to justify trading Reaves, DLO, and probably first round picks potentially multiple.

@@pookyman12 Garland and Dlo are way to similar for the Lakers to pull a move like this. Garland is on a massive contract and the Lakers could resign Dlo for a better price. Plus it will just be the same problem as the previous season. The backcourt might be good offensively but won't be able to guard anyone. Also the original comment is right getting CP3 for a small contract is a very solid move. The Lakers had no one running the offense once the second unit came in. I get you don't like Lebron but trading him for Garland is pretty much just giving you a worse team than this previous season. No Lebron, no Dlo. Now AD is stuck with an overpaid Garland and a bunch of overhyped role players. AD would be on the bench waiting to get traded well before the All Star break

@@pookyman12 I did not say Garland and Dlo would be playing together. I said Garland would be replacing Dlo to pretty much have to exact same impact as Dlo while being on a $197 million contract. Plus CP3 wouldn't be leading the Lakers, he would be leading the 2nd unit which the Lakers need very badly. He actually did a great job doing that this past season in golden state. Also I will just spoil it for you now. Lebron will still be on the Lakers next season.

Very different. Lebron put up 25 ppg on amazing efficiency as an all star. Paul struggled greatly this year and clearly did far worse last 2-3 years. Lebron is being paid 40 mil a year. Paul is a solid vet now, nothing more. But minimum salary paul would be amazing as your back up pg

If they can get, CP3 in a vet. min. ABSOLUTELY! But you need to get another defense-first guard like a Caruso, Dennis or even Gabe if there's no other option. CP3 would be great for AD and I think he would have a better performance than Lakers fans thinks of him now. People thinks he's washed because of how he played in Golden State, you got to consider that he plays well more in a slower pace. He can help take-off some of the ball-handling duties from Bron from time to time and he can also benefit as the secondary play-maker to preserve his body and he also plays well without the ball just like when he played with Harden.

I would like for them to be able to trade for Murray, who allows the Lakers flexibility to go out and sign some additional pieces. Murray contract doesn't require them to add a lot players in a trade. I dont think its that easy to get a 5 who can stretch the floor but is better than say christian wood. Wood is way too slow defensively and weak vs guys like jokic embiid. Best expectation is vucevic to give you a few mins, much stronger than woods and can shoot 35% from 3

I don’t think the lakers need a third star! They need consistent role players who don’t melt at the highest stages ! Imagine this Dinwiddie , Rui ,D-Lo and Gabe all underperformed in the playoffs. And that’s totally too much for a team to overcome!

Why guards? They need BIGS. To help take the pressure off AD so he doesn’t have to play center all the time & to help guard the likes of Joker, Gobert & KAT.

Offensively, we need a point guard that can push the pace, get us into our offense faster and get us out of the iso-heavy, pick and roll hunting offense that has proven to be so incredibly easy for opposing teams to guard. Especially during the regular season. Chris Paul is not gonna do that at this stage of his career. We also need on ball perimeter defense. Chris Paul is not gonna do that at this stage of his career. Even at the veteran minimum, I dk if I’d want CP3 on THIS Lakers team. Just not a good fit.
The best teams in the west are all under 30. We don't need anymore old guys. We need young guys with an endless motor.
retain DLo. Thje lakers should look for a good center so that AD can play 4 where he is more effective. Get Chris Paul for the minimum if he gets waived by the Warriors. If the Lakers retain DLo , they can trade him for Malik Monk. As for the center, the Lakers should consider getting Valenciunas if available, Howard and McGee Getting Garland will not help boost the Lakers' lineup. He is not that good for the Lakers to consider. The Lakers can consider Buddy Hield if available.
