    Basically these are two 18v packs in series. An adapter for two 18v batteries to use on 40v tool would be great.

    • @marks9127
      @marks9127 Год назад +1

      No they are not. Old 18V have 5s cell configuration, two of them in series go for 36V. Max voltage therefore 42V. Based on fact that they labeled this as 40V, not 36 or 37, I would assume it is 11s, so its max voltage would be close to 46,2V. Of course it is no problem to make an adapter, but you'd still have to deal with less usable energy and weaker performance. I may be wrong though, havent had a chance to test one of these yet.

    Have any of you had problems with this battery? I had a few examble of one problem, on model HR003 battery after some time of working it stop working and I need recharge it and after that it work again, but on battery tester it says that electronic are faulty but it still works. We will see is this some factory error or coincidence...

    We still need much more basic tools on 40v platform like multitool, sander, small size blower etc... I'd like to switch all my tools to 40v platform but but still a bit reluctant.

    Makitas 18 V platform seems to lack DRM systems which allowed 90% of all Chinese knock offs to come with "Makita 18V batteries". The new 40V system seems to have this fixed by having DRM integrated ("digital communication between battery and tool") and we all need to buy new tools and batteries. In contrast the old 230V electric tools my grandfather used like table saw, hand saw, drill, grinder are all still fine and work with the same electricity after 60 years.

    all that is fine, but what cells are used??
    is it a Sony VTC variant? or Samsung 20R, 25R, or some LG variant..show the god damn label...you know the context and what your headline says.. look inside and show the cell specs?
    if somebody is going to put this kind of money down for these packs, one would like to know what kind "of the shelf" cells are used (logic) but for some strange reason you don't show this, even though it would be as simple as showing a closeup.(what does the wrapping say)
    what a massive fail, and shocking that you cant come to this conclusion yourself, as when you open up to show the cells, maybe it would be relevant to show the cells (yousee) = model number!!

    I cannot buy 40v batteries where I live. So I am trying to build myself. I have 2 concerns:
    1- What should be the amperage level of the charging board? 30A, 40a?
    2- Where is the wattage control mechanism of the device? I mean the card which controls how many current the motor can ask for. If it is in the battery then I shouldn't build a battery. If in the device itself, then it's alright. I think it is in the device because every device has its own requirements and limitations.
    Does anyone know answers to any of these questions?

      At least 300-400, which for non professional works should be at least 6-7 years. My 18v battery is 2 years old with around 50-60 cycles, no capacity loss at all.

      Great question there is a minuscule difference, more noticeable where more torque is required. Not noticeable driving in a 50mm chipboard screw but when driving in 200mm coach screws into sleeper the 4Ah arrives about a third of a second faster. It's only noticeable with a camera or stopwatch but it is different. There's probably a debate to be had about whether you want to carry the extra weight all day too, but the 4Ah will get you a better runtime.

    How many amperages and percents does the flow of One 40v XGT battery charge and discharge. Does it discharge 30% equivalent to 19 AH ( amperage hour ) and it charge 10% AH equivalent to how many amperage hour or could it charge and discharge more ?. I look forward to know its charge and discharge limit. I hope you could feedback soon if you are free. I just refer. Because base on flow of charge and discharge I can calculate charge and discharge time. Could you help me. Thank you on the same. Have nice day and enjoy

    Why exactly are these batteries 40V? These have a similar architecture, 10s1p instead of the older 5s2p, and somehow they are not called 37V? I guess it's fairly arbitrary to use nominal voltage in the first place...

    Makita 40 volt batteries are expensive because they are expensive because other battery protection technology uses their machines. Makita batteries have a decryption system to unlock Makita appliances that work. It's Makita's marketing plan to sell batteries. I can tell you that I'm not okay with Makita 40 Volt batteries.👎👎👎
