The former three-star recruit who had one power five offer coming out of high school is now viewed as the best running back in college football having rushed for 459 yards and 9 touchdowns through two games against Georgia Southern and number 7 Oregon. He is the star running back for the Boise State Broncos who almost pulled off a huge upset over Oregon this past weekend and should be a team to watch when it comes to the Group of 5 playoff bid, Ashton Jeanty is also an important player to watch as he could win the Heisman this year. Boise has always loaded with RB but jeanty is a whole different beast
Ehhh id argue they have had talent at this level in the past. Doug Martin was a very similar back to Jeanty. The difference is guys like Martin and Johnson werent the entire offense. Martin rushed for 1,700 yards in 2010. He didnt have to push to 2,700, cuz Kellen Moore threw for 3,800 yards on top of what Martin rushed for.
Jeanty deserves all the credit, but I wouldnt put him significantly above Martin, who even after college was a 1st round draft pick and had 2 all pro seasons in the NFL.
@@MattBuild4 Doug Martin was a stud, but I would place Jeanty in a higher tier. Jeanty is facing stacked boxes because Boise State's QB play is underwhelming. When Doug played, defenses had to respect Kellen's passing ability.
@@Kyle-lh6pv Fair, but my point is just because martin didnt have to play the same defensive scheme doesnt mean that he couldnt play like jeanty. he just didnt have to because Boise's offense was absolutely yoked af....
Like jeanty has to break additional tackles that Martin didnt have to, because they actually had NFL lineman on their team.
I don’t think he’s the best running back. I think he is the best college football player all around. It’s insane. He might be the best to ever do it.
If Jeanty isn’t at least in New York by season’s end it would be the biggest disgrace to Group of 5 schools ever. I don’t expect him to win the Heisman since Milroe and Travis Hunter are balling out in more “important” skill positions, but he’s at least in the top 5, maybe even top 3, for the Heisman so far.
He absolutely deserves the heisman. But you know someone on Alabama or Ohio State will get it in the end based on committee bias.
If it’s not Jeanty or Travis Hunter is definitely rigged for the more big name schools
I think if Hunter continues doing this he will win but look at the competition Ashton plays against he won’t win it based on that
@@npierce14he did the same thing against #6 Oregon(their only loss so far). If his team keeps winning and wins the MW they will make the cfp and he will have a very good shot at heisman.

Ashton Jeanty is a Generational Player. No one sheds tackles like him in College. He's #1 for the Heisman Race. Travis Hunter is #2 .
