If yall know any other Green day songs about Amanda let me know 😊
I was in the scene with the zines an bo jangles. I love afi
@marcussmith3037 awesome:)
Amanda on the album Tré
It's funny because Billie Joe made sure She would always be played live
AMANDAAAAA DOOONT YA KNOWWWW THAT I STILL WALK AROUND
Irony is that Good Riddance was a break up song but I've heard it at a lot of graduations.💀
It was our class song in 2003
I didn’t even know about this Amanda thing this is a really good video
@@Killer_Drax I really appreciate the kind comments 🙂 this video took over a week to make so it makes it all worth it :)
Are u lieing about this the fans don't know what you talking about they know almost every thing@@Weirdo-inc
That was great i was looking for more details about the lyrics of good riddance but this was entertaining and straight to the point 🎉❤
Idk how i would feel being Billie’s now wife and have all these famous songs about an ex your husband used to date.
It isn’t uncommon. Even nirvana had two very famous songs about two different exes that weren’t Courtney
just about every songwriter's partner will experience this-- writing about exes and past relationships is almost certainly the most common topic for music. personally i see nothing wrong with it as they're just songs made while processing emotions that have probably since passed. and bangers!
She actually was asked about it once by a fan from a fanclub, and that was her answer:
"I don't find it odd that billie joe writes about Amanda. She was a good friend, as well as an old girl friend. There will always be people who make an impact in our lives.. who we feel a connection of some kind with. Thats a beautiful part of friendships. Those experiences make us who we are. As an artist, he writes from the heart.. from experience. I would never want him to censor himself or his experience. That wouldn't be fair or real."
I have a breakup playlist and the final song is Good Riddance. The song might be overplayed but it shouldn’t but people only listen to the chorus not understanding it with the rest of the song
the fact you put captions in gives me my subscription. that's dedication. fuckk.
Thank you for this
Sassafrats Roots is one of my favorite songs ever
Hey, just found your channel. Nice music taste :)
There’s comments about Ade’s feelings here but I think her and Bill have a really secure marriage and I really don’t think she’s be that arsed about it. And who knows maybe they stayed in touch and he’s a good friend of hers now. Xx
Neat channel.
Stuart and ave is one of their best. These songs are some of his best for real for real
Wow, you really seem to know your stuff man, very informative videos. I was surprised to see such a level of fantastically made content (at least for RUclips standards) from someone who, as far as I can tell, hasn’t gotten that much recognition. It’s a shame really, but I’m certain that will change. Hell, you’ve done the same stuff covering topics that fairly well known content creators make, but arguably a bit better because you’ve genuinely told me information I haven’t heard before, which honestly I wasn’t expecting. Learning that those songs on American Idiot were about her were notably surprising because American Idiot is a concept album and therefore I wouldn’t expect it to have any real events in it (besides Wake Me Up When September Ends). But anyways, if they’ve found success from doing that then you definitely should too. The good thing is you seem to be passionate covering the topics that you do, which is always amazing and gains respect. So uh, keep goin at it.

Some people spend way too much time on youtube comments
Was under the impression Stewart & The Ave was to Larry from Lookout...think it was said in an interview.
Great vid.
I've always wondered about Scattered. And now Suzie Chapstick. That song just wrecks me.
If Good Riddance wasn't on Nimrod, you would also say "how would it fit it?" 😅 So yeah, if they wanted to put it on Dookie, it would have worked. If Dookie was so huge, imagine it also having a ballad as a single 🔥
Btw great video and channel!
There is LITERALLY a song called Amanda, took u long enough to notice
Nice!
I wonder if Adrienne has an issue with so many songs written about that chick.
right.. i get that was his girlfriend and all but he wrote like way too many songs about her. no hate though, of course. I love green day.
@@timmy334 somewhere Adrienne was asked about it and she said she didn't mind, she said it was a part of Billies life and she understood why he wrote about it.
If I can find the interview I'll post in community posts :)
I don’t think so. They’ve been together literally forever. She also appears to be very emotionally mature and secure in who she is. I think writing about it just brings Billie closure
I'm you 863rd subscriber ❤
I feel “Good Riddance” would have fit before “F.O.D.” because they're both acoustic.
Even though I already knew a bit about Amanda's background, there’s so much here I didn’t know. Thanks for sharing this!
P.S. Where’s the clip of Billie talking about her from?
@@patriciociminelli3915 i found it on yt.
Great video your vids of this style are top tier
@@gabrielpaiva9070-u2y thank you so much. :)
Wasn't she the girl on the cover of 39 SMOOTH?
@@brodie65708 I'm pretty sure not, cuz he didn't meet her till around 1992 I think
Is she the girl drawn on the cover of kerplunk?
@@Herbert_Jablonski i dont think so.
The song Amanda off of Tre
Such a hella good song
Platypus I hate you is about Tim Yohannan from an old punk magazine called Maximum Rock n Roll. Also Ha Ha You’re Dead is about him dying from Cancer…they didn’t like him very much because of all the crap they got after they signed with Reprise
@@Rob-z1e3jyeah, i have a video talking about it: )
my name is also amanda so it feels kinda odd:,) still green day is my favourite band
Millions of people are named amanda

Who are you? Where are you from? I can't believe I found a new page to learn anything about band..!
Almost sounds like she ripped his heart out...
Isn't Amanda Jones the name of a character from a Kevin Smith movie? Mallrats i think.
1:35 rancid reference
can you do the meaning of Pulling Teeth ?
@whatsername_geek12 of course, great idea!
I fucking love that song and uno , dos and Tre could have rivaled George Harrison on best double disc
If they cut certain fadder
Which could have been a exciting splurge of b sides
If she’s a rebel and whatsername is on there should extraordinary girl be on there it mentions the whatsername character
@@sarahchildress-boley3377 maybe
I wonder who Haushinka is on nimrod ?

Is this a voice reveal?
@@funtimeisaiah.8715 kinda, I have other voice over videos. I made a small playlist on my channel ☺️.
How about their song Amy?
@@krayzieGREY Amy was inspired by Amy winehouse, after she passed away.
@Weirdo-inc oh thanks, I thought it was another song about Amanda . . Ama/Amy for short. .
Billie also said she and westbound sign are about the same girl
@@ADP12345 westbound sign is about his wife. He said.
As I continued to watch i see you played the live clip of him talking about what songs are about her. Thats what i was referring to. The one on insomniac that he couldn’t remember. I was just guessing it was westbound sign cause it talks about a girl. You know if that is the one?
@@ADP12345 it was Stuart and the ave
Hmmm
Lah kalo di pekayon mah amanda a.k.a manda ade nya billy
All of the songs Green Day supposedly wrote for “Amanda” are actually songs they didn't write at all because I'm pretty sure Green Day hired a ghost writer to write this song and a large portion of their hits. Basically they paid unknown people to write Green Day songs and Green Day recorded those songs and they get 100% of the credit. There are known lyricists that get writing credits every time they write a song for a band or artist but it's way easier to get paid if you are a ghost writer and much better for the artist because they get to take full credit for a song.
@@josamaroo Green day are definitely capable of writing their own songs, for instance their first two albums were on an indie label and there is no way a few broke kids could hire ghost writers.
lol -- so who wrote their two best albums, 39/Smooth and Kerplunk?
Nope they didn’t hire a ghost writer and Billie Joe writes his own lyrics with Mike and Tre occasionally writing lyrics too
No idea where you heard this ridiculous claim
Like, if Billy Joe was from like the Berkeley hills I would so believe this. But dude is from Rodeo. His Chuck's were worn thin.
