Got around to watching this finally. It was a hoot listening to Ping talk about growing up in Montana. As a fellow Montanan growing up around the same time I could relate to quite a bit of it. Loved it.
Ping is the best host and Grant works so well with him. Ping goes right to the heart of the rider so we really get to know how they think and feel and Grant comes right along with support. I don't want to pick on other shows but some are irritating or not near as heart felt, entertaining and fun as you guys!! What can I say, THE COMBO OF PING AND GRANT IS THE BEST, thanks guys, can't wait for the next episode!!!!!!!
Words can't express how much I enjoyed this show! Great job GL and Donnie - well done. David is one of the true gems in our sport. He has influenced the growth of the sport in more than one way. Personally, he has influenced my oldest son to pursue a career as a firefighter and I couldn't be more proud of his decision. David, you have been through thick and thin. You have tasted the thrill of victory and the heartbreak of injuries and set backs. You really struck a cord with me when when you mentioned your legacy. Thank you for being authentic and consistent on who you really are. GL and Donnie did an excellent job letting you tell your story. Epic show. Keep up the great work guys!
Took me 5 days to watch this episode, only because as you we’re talking about the races I was going back and watching them. Love the old races! Great show! Ping, never second guess your legacy in this sport. You were a stud! You don’t have just one legacy you have several. Not a lot of people can say that!
Havre, MT. First race 1976, Pueblo in the sand, Beginners class with 37 bikes, won both motos. Lost my arm in a offtrack accident Spring 77. Learned to ski, fly and riding again these days. I rode a first year Suzuki RM 250. Worked for Bob Stromberg at a Harley/Yamaha/Suzuki dealership.
Fantastic Interview! I have been riveted to Pings story the entire time. What an amazing life experience.... it’s heartbreaking that his motocross career wasn’t as “successful” as he had wanted, particularly with all of those injuries. In retrospect, these are the experiences that made him who he is now, and that seems to be a pretty good person. I would love to have just earned a Pro license but I just never had the fitness to make it. I understand all too well the frustration of working hard, training hard, doing everything you possibly can, yet still coming up short of what you want. I wanted to be a pro so bad when I was younger, but I kept running short of talent and athleticism and into injury after injury. Motocross is a brutal sport in that regard. It was hard to swallow that reality pill and realize I wasn’t going to be another Bob Hannah😂😂😂....no matter how badly I wanted it. I really appreciate Ping’s story and the success he did earn. To me, he ranks up there with any of my motocross hero’s (even though he is younger than me😂) because of what he went through, because of his story. Thanks for sharing with us👍
Love the show guys! Ping and GL are a riot. Can't stop listening. it's funny hearing about all those epic times in motocross. Great stuff. Where is Larry "big bird" Ward? Would love to hear a podcast with him. Keep em coming guys
😂 Funny that David is a firefighter now ! Me and him set the desert on fire 🔥 🔥🔥back in the day on accident! 😂😂The fire trucks 🚒 had to come and get it under control . Right across from his house in Scottsdale, I used to be friends with him when I was 14 and 15 . He was a badass on that RM 80 !!💪😎 Super cool to see this and catch up on how his life went . Big fan 🙌🙌🙌🙌❤️
Damn I’ve been listening to this for two days lol, anyway talking about ping slamming that rider at lorettas what about reed slamming GL at Daytona,I was so pissed at him for doing that, and then I was at the finish line at redbud when GL had a fucked up shoulder and won and clinched the championship and collapsed from extreme pain,I was so happy for him yet felt that pain from having it firsthand, you guys are so full of knowledge,I could sit and bench race for days about my own and shit I’ve seen at the races, you need to dedicate a show about old guys that have cool stories about guys like you two!!🤘🏼👊🏻
Just let the guest tell his story without interruptions. GL, you can tell your GL stories on your night. PLZ let the guest speak and finish his or her thought...,. Without the interruption of the host's, this is the greatest show on earth. Pump the brakes, let the guest tell THEIR story! PLZ!!!!!
Staying out late with a lady friend and pissing off your dad hits home for sure.Way to create a great carreer and convince your dad to chill and him not throw in the towel or it be ackward.
Why does the hosts on this show try putting words is the guest mouth? STOP stepping on your guests! Let them speak, let them tell their story! At times it's uncomfortable and frustrating to listen too.
Hey guys my name is Jack Lawrence I invented the lowering device for the starts. It was in the magazine dirt rider in January 95 after it came out in the magazine I took it to Yamaha several months went by and then Chad Reed had the button lowering device .they ripped me off! I have had bad dreams for years... how about doing the right thing and finding out the truth ...I got nothing for it and I changed the sport forever!
That was my cousin in the magazine. His name is Jack Torrance and he worked closely with Yamaha to make that lowering device. I am offended at the words you have just spoke. Trying to say that they took the credit when you’re now trying to take the credit. When the credit is given to them, the credit should not be taken out of spite. have the credit belong with the blu cru because my cousin Mr Torrance made that little doohickey thing that makes the gate go down. #truthisspoken
I want one dude to say to the legacy question "Good dad" or "great husband" and mic drop. What the hell else matters? I was hoping ping would. And I bet if you read this you'd say. I wanna change my answer. Or change the question to what do you want you're professional legacy to be?
slower racing is a huge factor in why nascar is on a bad decline. keeping everyone together caused tons of crashes there and these are motorcycles. no doubt the injuries will pile up more
Love ya GL but we are here to hear Ping's story and not yours. I get you are doing your best to facilitate the interview and that your stories about you is your style of identifying with the guest, but it does really interrupt the flow of Ping a ton and derail the interview hence why it is a 5 hour show. Your episode was awesome, and love to hear your input but it can be overwhelming.
@@marcellobonati idk man do some quick searches even Schumacher was getting 200 million back in the Ferrari days 50 from Ferrari and 150 from endorsements. Danny Rics 49 includes endorsements.
I agree wholeheartedly!!! I've commented on more than one occasion about GL interrupting guests. Again, Ping you do an awesome job; I'm glad I finally I got to hear your story, but maybe consider a replacement for GL.
Don’t like the way you threw steve Herman under the bus. What your to good to battle with Herman? Stevie is one of the best guys to be around never has a bad thing to say about anyone oh yea he had a ton of talent to
You weren’t a factory rider. You were a support team rider big difference. You may be able to bs the general public but not me I was involved in the sport at that time just like you….Now your calling out Kroc for not saying thank you…..come on man….. I’ve loaned out my bike to buddy’s to go do a super cross in Canada. They’d thank all their sponsors on the box not me and i wouldn’t expect it I did a ton of work to get them there to….you made out better than Kenny.. you had your whole bike gone through and redone.. funny you don’t mention the benefits you got from it. Your still the same way as you were back in the 90s when I knew you haven’t changed a bit …. It’s a bad look for you and whiskey throttle
My favorite pod cast! Get to go down memory lane talking about my favorite sport! Keep it pegged!
Got around to watching this finally. It was a hoot listening to Ping talk about growing up in Montana. As a fellow Montanan growing up around the same time I could relate to quite a bit of it. Loved it.
David Pingree entered the motocross scene during a very difficult era. Lusk, Huffman, Hughes, Pichon, Windham, Reynard, RC.
Took me 3 days to get through this while working, but what an awesome episode. I couldn’t stop listening
Ping is the best host and Grant works so well with him. Ping goes right to the heart of the rider so we really get to know how they think and feel and Grant comes right along with support. Great show again!!! Thank you Thank you THANK YOU FOR LETTING IT GO WITH NO TIME LIMIT!!!!
IT'S THE BEST SHOW, I LOVE IT- NO TIME LIMIT!!!!!!
I love you guys. I've been driving 4.5 hours to a job site on Mondays and still didn't finish. Lol holy crap guys. But still one of my favorite shows.

Loved the detail and fun you guys are still having with this world! Thx for keeping it alive and fun

Great show . Thoroughly enjoy these . So interesting to see an in depth view on these stars of the sport 👍
i know it hurts to not get the title but to reach the level Pingree has and has made an impact....be happy.
Best show yet. congrats David on your career.
I'm gonna need a FULL DAY to watch this, man
Awesome interview with Ping! His writing always tells it like it is and makes me laugh. The Fire Dept. Coffee commercial was also really creative👍
Thanks Ping , cool that you did this looking forward to listening to this between bathroom brakes !!!! Must have a lot to say Holy Cow !
Dam you must spend alot of time in the shitter!
Love it. A little late to the party but it's great hearing these stories. Such history. Cool mofos, all.

Thanks Ping and crew, great show :)
I walked the track at Farleigh castle with Ping, Amber and his 2 girls....Awesome family and friendly enough to let me tag along.
Great show you guys ! I love hearing about people's stories .... i can fully relate !
5 hrs of cool!! Your show is the best and I have 4 hours and 57 minutes ta go!
Great show as always. After the coffee/Moto advertisement I had to pause and google how to get me some of that coffee in Canada!

Great show, Ping... you are a legend of a fella and racer. Well done GL and Donnie.
Have you ever raced down here in Australia?
SHIT YEAH PING!!! Favorite episode so far, laughed so damn hard.
I have to add Pingree to my bridesmaid list...Pekka Vehkonen, Kurt Nicoll, Kevin Windham and David Pingree.
Might need to break this one up, folks. Put GL and Donnie in charge and it goes looooong 😂
Ha ha Thought it was that Ping guy. You can talk for hours. lol
So you now have a RUclips channel... I hope we see some GoPro onboard laps and similar stuff on here in the future!
Are you guys outside Ping? Must have the ac set real low.
awesome show!!! keep it up guys.....sincerely Jody Wiesel
Cool story ping... For real though... Good way to spend my day.
Ping is the man. Much respect!
5 hours of awesomeness 👌
Well, just one more video before bed...
Great show , I'm Going to the Hart one tonight see you all soon!
Let GL be a guest next, then he can talk all about himself, wait didn't we already do that?
I feel like ping doesn't really get a chance to tell his story without being interrupted..
Agree
5th !! We made some changes during the week been struggling with set-up I just need a start !!
my mind is blown, you guys make dj donnie seem like he would be a 350 lb fanny pack dad.
Need to have Carmichael so you can ask him some of the questions about Ping when he was training with him be some good stories coming from his side
hmmm, don't remember battling with you at that race, but my memory isn't what it used to be.

Michael Scott GL already had his episode
Staying out late with a lady friend and pissing off your dad hits home for sure.Way to create a great carreer and convince your dad to chill and him not throw in the towel or it be ackward.
Ping was speaking in fragmented sentences because he kept getting interrupted.
That's why the new guy is way better on the preview show. Ping is a ding a ling or sucks them
This is a good one. 👌
Jesseman was primal 2000 amsoil honda 2001, factory suz 02 03 04. He was a local guy in our area. District 5 pa guy
Your input was fine, GL... bench racing banter...👍
Definitely agree close racing, and slow them down.
Also I think keeping the bikes equal would help keep the racing better too.
Another great episode. But damn, not sure there is an episode without a half dozen well back in South Africa references. Poor GL.
GL - "Let me ask you a question, Ping." -GL "Okay, I am going to go ahead and answer that question for you."
Why does the hosts on this show try putting words is the guest mouth? STOP stepping on your guests! Let them speak, let them tell their story! At times it's uncomfortable and frustrating to listen too.
The weege show is good but this the best bike show there is!
Ping....great $hit eating grin in the coffee promo video!
Way better than listening to that Canadian poser on that other channel that wants to mix his politics in to the point that I won’t listen anymore.
The pic of dp breaking his arm in supermoto is brutal😳
GL, Get rid of the tubes man! tubeless and cush core for the win!!!!
Please keep that mo shaved champ, haha 👍
5 hours? Really?
You might be 45 but you’re still pretty fast on the Moto
Listen can we please have a monster energy supercross 3 championship Madden style tournament on whiskey throttle show dammit
I swear to god, they're asking Ping about how he met his wife, and they are doing most of the talking? FFS.
Great Job GL

First!!! Finally I said this a few episodes back and I’m starting it NOW!!!
Waa waaaa waaaaaaa gta horn......
Ping is late again. His dad says.... " let me smell those fingers". It ain't fries.

Ahmmm somehow I don't think Chad makes anywhere near Aussie Daniel Riccardio's pay of 49 million per year 😏
I don't think Ricciardo has ever won more than US$ 20 million in a year. I don't think CR22 ever got to US$ 10 million.
@@marcellobonati idk man do some quick searches even Schumacher was getting 200 million back in the Ferrari days 50 from Ferrari and 150 from endorsements. Danny Rics 49 includes endorsements.
Pinggrem
GL, stop interrupting and let him talk, please.
I think they should have one microphone to pass around, that way there can only be one person talking at a time. Old school method but it works.
I agree wholeheartedly!!! I've commented on more than one occasion about GL interrupting guests. Again, Ping you do an awesome job; I'm glad I finally I got to hear your story, but maybe consider a replacement for GL.
Cannot agree more!
Is anyone else getting tired of the GL show???? I like GL but come on man, Ping is getting interviewed, you had your interview already. FFS
Whatever
Clint p, yes i'm getting tired of the GL show too.
Definitely a rich family problem of selling a trailer and 2 bikes. Then buying more again.
5 ficking hours. Sob see if I get tru 1.
Don’t like the way you threw steve Herman under the bus. What your to good to battle with Herman? Stevie is one of the best guys to be around never has a bad thing to say about anyone oh yea he had a ton of talent to
Didn't mean to be disrespectful... but I had a factory ride... shouldnt have been outside the top ten battling with privateers. Thats all.
