I think If we can practice uniform criminal procedures across India without worrying about the religious laws, we can also practice uniform civil laws which is almost 90 % uniform in India.

In religious laws women itself consider as a property of men,and it allows polygamy, women don't have same rights over property and it denies alimony.Religion itself patriarchal, compared to it uniform civil code is better.
There is another argument against the ucc is the tribal community.we have to preserve their culture.their culture in terms of marriage,divorce and so on is very far from the mainland india.
